Returning to her room, Xia Qingtian felt a little depressed.

Noticing this, Bo Jingyan pinched her lip and teasingly said, "If your lips were to curl any more, you could hang an oil bottle on it."

Feeling upset, Xia Qingtian brushed his hand away impatiently.

"I couldn’t find any clues in my dad’s room," she said, feeling somewhat downcast.

Sitting down next to her, Bo Jingyan asked, "Is that enough to upset you?"

"It’s not exactly being upset," Xia Qingtian sighed, speaking honestly, "Heading to the room, I was hopeful. But in the end, I found nothing which was disappointing."

"Who said we found nothing?" Bo Jingyan’s mouth curled into a confident smirk.

Xia Qingtian’s eyes lit up at this.

She had a hunch about what Bo Jingyan meant, but to avoid any disappointment, she cautiously asked, "What do you mean?"

With no intentions of hiding anything, Bo Jingyan produced a card from seemingly nowhere and handed it to her, saying, "This was found in your father’s room."

Xia Qingtian glanced at the card. It was just a regular promotional card.

She had often seen such cards at hotels back home.

This is why she had instinctively ignored it when she saw it on the coffee table in Xia Guohua’s room.

Unexpectedly, Bo Jingyan had brought this card with him.

"What use is this?" Xia Qingtian held the card, flipping it back and forth to take a closer look.

"Look up," Bo Jingyan suddenly said.

Not fully registering his words, Xia Qingtian found herself raising her head, only to feel a sudden pain on her forehead.

She instantly held her forehead, realizing that Bo Jingyan’s request for her to look up was for the sole purpose of flicking her forehead. Glaring at him accusatorily, she demanded, "Bo Jingyan, what are you doing?"

"I thought you were intelligent but it turns out, you’re not," Bo Jingyan said, laughing lightly.

Right before she could get angry, he continued, "Don’t deny it, this card is the most valuable thing in your dad’s room."

"Do you remember what the lobby manager said during the day?"

Xia Qingtian was somewhat confused. The lobby manager had said quite a bit, she wasn’t sure which part Bo Jingyan meant.

Thankfully, Bo Jingyan didn’t expect her to answer.

He clarified for her, "He mentioned that during the period before your father’s disappearance, he would return every evening, totally drunk."

Xia Qingtian understood what he meant, but...

"This is just a standard escort girl card," she said, "It’s common in hotel rooms. I used to see it whenever I stayed at one."

Despite his three-year memory loss, he knew that he wasn’t that kind of person; he wouldn’t stoop so low.

Xia Qingtian stuck out her tongue in mild embarrassment, "I was merely joking."

She knew very well that out of all the men in the world, Bo Jingyan would never resort to such actions.

Seeing Bo Jingyan still looking a bit upset, she immediately apologized, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that, I was just rambling. Don’t be upset, okay?"

Hearing this, Bo Jingyan seemed to relax a bit.

To avoid bringing up the previous topic, Xia Qingtian swiftly steered the conversation back, "Okay, let’s get back to business. So, you think my dad used the number on this card before going out to drink, right?"

"Yeah." Bo Jingyan nodded.

"So, should we..." Xia Qingtian cautiously asked, "Should we also call this number to see where it might lead us?"

"Yeah." Bo Jingyan nodded again.

"So, who’s going to do it?" Xia Qingtian asked, careful not to upset him any further, "You?"

Considering it was just the two of them, and she was a woman, it was apparent who had to do it.

Bo Jingyan rolled his eyes, "I have my arrangements."

With that said, Xia Qingtian did not press him any further.

Bo Jingyan made a call, read out the number on the card to the person on the other end and authoritatively said, "Handle this for me, I want to know the outcome soon."

With that, he hung up.

Xia Qingtian blinked in surprise, a bit slow to catch on.

Bo Jingyan glanced at her, "I’m wealthy and have a team working for me. I don’t need to handle such matters personally. With just a word, someone will take care of it."

Xia Qingtian was somewhat dumbfounded.

It was as if being around Bo Jingyan had somehow lowered her IQ.

Was it the curse of being goofy after having a baby?

Either way, at least the matter was resolved.

All they had to do now was wait for Bo Jingyan’s people to conduct the investigation.

The wait was torturous and testing, the days seemed to crawl by. To ease the discomfort, Xia Qingtian asked Bo Jingyan to accompany her to several places around B Country.

Bo Jingyan had no objections to this.

Daily, for the following days, Xia Qingtian was taken around to various popular destinations in B Country, returning each night, exhausted and falling sleep immediately after washing up.

In just a few days she lost a significant amount of weight which was better than any exercise or diet she had tried.

Just as Xia Qingtian was about to collapse from the exhaustion of traveling around B Country, Bo Jingyan finally received the call from his team; they had traced the distributor of the cards, who also ran a small bar.

So, it was likely that Xia Guohua went to that bar each day before his disappearance, getting himself utterly drunk.
