Chapter 494: Chapter 494 Jealous Of Oneself_1
Bo Jingyan’s emotions remained unaltered, as he continued to come across as cool and composed.
"Has anyone else been staying in that room?" he asked, his face devoid of expression.
"No, our hotel policy states that once a customer pays for a room, it isn’t given to anyone else, even if the original customer doesn’t stay."
Bo Jingyan nodded in approval and continued, "Could you take us to that room?"
The lobby manager seemed hesitant and after a moment of reflection said, "I can do that, but it would have to be done discreetly without anyone knowing. Not only would I be breaking company policy, but if those who threatened us find out, I’d be in trouble. So, I might only be able to take you there late at night, when there are fewer people around, would that be acceptable?"
"Agreed," both Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan nodded in agreement.
All they wanted was to find Xia Guohua, they had no interest in causing any trouble for others.
Considering the ruthless methods of those who had threatened him, the lobby manager could not believe his luck to be dealing with such cooperative people.
After a brief pause, he left gratefully.
Now Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan had to wait for the lobby manager to take them to Xia Guohua’s room, there was nothing else they could do for now.
Bored, Xia Qingtian made her way to the balcony. Raising her head, she could see the azure sea, the golden sands, the sky and sea blending into one. The beauty was beyond words.
She was instantly captivated by the scene.
She finally understood why this hotel was so famous and charged such expensive rates - its location was just too good to pass up.
She was so awestruck that she didn’t even notice when Bo Jingyan joined her.
"If you like it, you could go out and take a walk. Right now, all we can do is wait," Bo Jingyan suggested.
Xia Qingtian agreed, thinking it would be torturous to stay put and wait.
Together, they made their way to the beach.
The sand was incredibly fine and smooth, it must feel wonderful underfoot.
This thought led Xia Qingtian to remove her shoes and walk barefoot on the beach. The sand felt just as soft as she had imagined, comfortable and not at all coarse.
Her mood instantly improved.
As she walked backward facing Bo Jingyan, she began talking, "Seeing this beach, I am reminded of things from the past."
As she said this, the memory brought a sweet smile to her face.
Mentioning the past, all Bo Jingyan could do was remain silent.
He could not recall any shared experiences with Xia Qingtian. Before, he thought his memory loss didn’t matter much. But now, he began to feel a hint of discomfort in his heart.
This feeling was rather unpleasant. Xia Qingtian was talking about their shared past, yet he felt like an outsider listening in on stories about her with another man.
He didn’t even have the right to feel jealous or hurt.
Xia Qingtian, lost in memories, failed to notice his discomfort and assumed his silence was simply due to his lack of recollection.
She began, "Back then you were on a business trip to B City. I came to see you and once you finished your work, you took me to the seaside. I saw a couple taking their wedding photos and couldn’t help but express my envy."
"Silently you observed my reactions. The next day, you mysteriously took me to a bridal shop for a wedding photo shoot. Our photos needed no editing; they were simply perfect. Unaltered, they could be used as finished products."
"I still cherish those photos at home. If you’re interested, we can take a look when we get back to A City. Maybe they could jog your memory."
Bo Jingyan was not interested in the photographs.
Since he could not recall along with the lack of familiarity it felt as if someone else, wearing his skin, experienced all that with Xia Qingtian.
However, seeing Xia Qingtian’s enthusiasm, he did not want to disappoint her, so he simply nodded and said, "Sure, once we find your father and return to A City, we’ll look."
Xia Qingtian was delighted and shared more about their time in B City.
By evening, they found themselves sitting on the beach, watching as the sun set slowly, painting the sky and the azure sea with hues of red. It was a sight both beautiful and grand.
This magnificent scenery, a creation of Mother Nature, was something man-made artistry could never replicate.
Once it was completely dark, a round moon rose into sky, along with countless glittering stars and a mysterious galaxy, it was beautiful. Unfortunately, there were no shooting stars tonight.
Xia Qingtian started to feel tired, so she suggested that she and Bo Jingyan lie down on the beach.
While gazing at the stars, they chatted and let the time slip by.
They initially thought it would be difficult to kill time, but they were proven wrong. Whether it was the beach’s beauty or the company, time surprisingly flew by.
It was only when the lobby manager called that they realized it was already midnight.
Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan reluctantly got up to return to the hotel and meet the lobby manager.
The manager had cleared the area. He then led them, avoiding the surveillance cameras, stealthily to Xia Guohua’s room. Once inside he nervously warned, "You must hurry, you have at most half an hour. All the people I cleared out will return after that, and you will be exposed."
"Understood," Xia Qingtian nodded, "We won’t cause any trouble."
Relieved, the lobby manager heaved a sigh. "I’ll keep a lookout outside. Please, hurry," he said and left, his hefty body retreating from the room.
Time was limited. Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan looked at each other and, without needing to speak, began their search.
Xia Qingtian entered the master bedroom and found Xia Guohua’s luggage.
All his identity documents and passport were still in his suitcase, which meant that if he were indeed still alive, he must be within B Country’s borders and hadn’t left.
Time sped by and thirty minutes quickly passed.
The lobby manager rushed into the room, urging, "Sir, ma’am, it’s time. We need to leave."
Xia Qingtian looked upset, she hadn’t found any useful clues.
They had previously agreed to make things easy for the lobby manager and not expose him. Even though they hadn’t found anything, they couldn’t go back on their word. They complied and left with him, doing their best not to alert anyone.
