Chapter 437: Chapter 437: Set Him Free_Part 1

The wound on Bo Jingyan’s forehead, inflicted by his mother, had already stopped bleeding on its own.

The blood that had wound its way down his face was now dried and stubbornly remained, making him look particularly terrifying and shocking.

If he went to see Xia Qingtian like this, he would probably scare her.

With that thought, Bo Jingyan made a U-turn when the traffic light turned red, found a nearby pharmacy, wiped off the blood on his face, and bought some medicine.

Luckily, his mother was frail and didn’t exert much force.

So, his forehead wound wasn’t very deep, and all it took was some medication and a bandage.

Once his wound was taken care of, Bo Jingyan set off again.

Before long, he returned to the home he shared with Xia Qingtian.

Stepping into the familiar door, Bo Jingyan felt ripples rushing through his impassive heart, which, until now, had remained still.

Especially upon seeing Xia Qingtian, these ripples turned into raging waves.

He controlled his emotions and asked Xia Qingtian, "Is there something you wanted to discuss? Why did you ask me to come home?"

Upon seeing him, Xia Qingtian was reminded of the scene of him leaving the Bo Group with Shi Qian.

Immediately, she lowered her gaze, avoiding looking at him, and forced herself to calm down. "I wanted to discuss divorcing you," she said calmly and composedly.

She didn’t want to turn into a hysterical shrew in front of Bo Jingyan.

Even though she still loved him, she loved him very much. But Bo Jingyan not only didn’t remember her, but also was planning to marry another woman.

She didn’t want to degrade herself too much.

Nor did she want love to overshadow her own dignity.

"What did you say?" Bo Jingyan’s voice was oppressive, and his pupils constricted as he said, "Say it again."

Xia Qingtian had made up her mind and calmly repeated her statement, "I said, I asked you here today to discuss our divorce."

"Before, we’ve brought up the subject of divorce several times, but because we were both too busy, it was left undiscussed. Now that we both have time, it’s a good opportunity to discuss this."

"As for the division of property, apart from what my grandfather gave me, I don’t want anything else. An’an is still too young and can’t be without his mother, so custody should belong to me, but you are his..."

"Shut up." A vein popped on Bo Jingyan’s forehead.

He didn’t understand. Did Xia Qingtian not like him?

How could she keep her composure while discussing divorce and even asset division?

Were her feelings for him fake all this while?

With these thoughts, Bo Jingyan became agitated and found it hard to believe.

So, he didn’t continue with Xia Qingtian’s words, and instead asked a seemingly redundant question, "So, you called me specifically to come home to discuss our divorce?"

Xia Qingtian didn’t understand why he was hung up on such a trivial matter.

Nevertheless, she confirmed, "Yes."

Hearing her answer, Bo Jingyan sneered in his rage.

"Alright, very well..." his voice was ominous, "Xia Qingtian, you really are something."

He was consumed with immense anger, feeling like a complete fool.

God knows how happy he’d been when he first received Xia Qingtian’s call.

He thought that this call was her signal to reconcile, which was why he had rushed home eagerly.

However, she had blindsided him with this news.

Xia Qingtian understood Bo Jingyan’s anger but didn’t know what caused it.

Since he had already accepted his mother’s arrangements and decided to get engaged to Shi Qian, he should be happy that she was initiating the divorce, giving Shi Qian space in his life.

After all, she was solving a significant problem for him.

"So, can we properly discuss the divorce now?" Xia Qingtian suppressed her bitterness, not wanting to give herself away or be laughed at.

Bo Jingyan’s deep eyes glittered with a stern light.

He fixed his gaze on Xia Qingtian, his tone dark as he questioned, "Are you in such a hurry to divorce me because of Huo Qilin?"

At his words, Xia Qingtian laughed out of anger.

She had seen unreasonable people before, but never someone as unreasonable as him.

It was him who decided to get engaged to Shi Qian. But now he was blaming her, insisting that she wanted to divorce him because of Huo Qilin.

He was clearly playing the victim.

"No. The reason I want a divorce is because..." Xia Qingtian started to explain, but she stopped herself, feeling there was no need.

Every time they brought up divorce, Bo Jingyan would drag Huo Qilin into it.

She had explained time and time again, but he never believed her.

Would explaining this time make any difference?

And if she mentioned Shi Qian saying she wanted a divorce because he was getting engaged to Shi Qian, it would sound more like she was accusing him as a deserted wife.

As if she was using divorce to threaten him to give an explanation.

Xia Qingtian didn’t want to degrade herself to that extent, nor did she want to blame him.

Because she never blamed Bo Jingyan.

She knew that the reason they had reached this point was not anyone’s fault. He just lost his memory and didn’t remember anything.

She wanted a divorce because she was too tired and filled with too much disappointment.

Having been deeply loved by Bo Jingyan once, having been cherished by him, she couldn’t bear the stark contrast now. So, she decided to flee.

Once she understood this, Xia Qingtian stopped explaining.

"If you believe I want to divorce you because of Huo Qilin, then let it be," she replied, seemingly giving up.

After all, they were both heading for divorce.

Does the reason even matter?

Bo Jingyan’s deep eyes turned a shade redder.

Thinking of his mother’s evaluation of Xia Qingtian, he felt incredibly mocked. It turned out all those comments were true.

"Fine, let’s go get the divorce papers tomorrow," Bo Jingyan said in a grave voice.

If she wanted a divorce, let it be. He, Bo Jingyan, would not stoop so low to beg a fickle woman.

Seeing him agree so casually, Xia Qingtian felt a moment of daze. The hole in her heart seemed to have grown larger.

It felt like her whole heart had been hollowed out.

Her spirit completely separated from her, she felt like an empty shell, lifelessly setting a time, "Then tomorrow morning, 9 o’clock, let’s meet at the Registry Office."

"Sure, as you wish," Bo Jingyan sneered.
