Chapter 1109: Chapter 1089: Going on a Blind Date Together
Why do I feel like something’s not quite right with my wife!
"Honey, aren’t you overthinking this? Nora takes after you, always cool and distant, rarely warms up to others. Now she’s wholly focused on her designs, aiming for success in her career—that’s perfectly normal. Stop worrying!"
"Could it be my menopause?"
After what Mario Jensen had said, Lina Miller also felt that her worries may have been a bit excessive, "Maybe, I should call Madeline and ask if she feels the same. Their son John has never had a girlfriend either, and if she’s as concerned as I am, it will prove I’m not going through early menopause. If not, then maybe I really am and I need to start taking medication!"
Mario Jensen: "..."
Just as Lina was trying to break free from Mario Jensen’s embrace, he pulled her back with a strong hand and pinned her on the sofa: "Lina, there’s no need to make that call. I assure you, you’re not going through menopause early. You just finished your period, you could still have kids, so how could it be menopause?"
Menopause was something that only happened to women who were past the age of having children, wasn’t it!
She could still have children?
Children had always been a thorny issue in Lina’s heart; there was a mishap when giving birth to Nana Jensen, and then when she conceived again, it was too early to sustain the pregnancy. Three years later, she was pregnant again, but still couldn’t keep it, and the baby died in her womb.
"Fabian, I’m sorry, I wish I could bear you a son to share the burden so that when we’re old, there would be someone to take care of Nora!"
In Lina’s world, no matter how strong a woman was, she was still a woman and needed to be taken care of. After all, Nana was a girl; having a brother would assure someone to look after her in the future, married or not. If she were to marry, she would have someone to rely on, just like how Rio from the Gordon family was well cared for by her sisters.
"Fool, what are you talking about!"
What Mario Jensen didn’t expect was that, after so many years, she still carried the burden of not having children, "These things are fate; how could I blame you? Maybe it’s a punishment from heaven for me, Mario Jensen, for not appreciating my younger days and making you suffer so much by my side!"
"No, no, no, I haven’t suffered. Being with you, even if we couldn’t be husband and wife, would still be my greatest happiness!"
The two of them had known each other for over thirty years and had been married for more than twenty. Their relationship had only grown more in sync. If Ivy Aretha and Michael Gordon’s love could be described as tumultuous, then their love was like mutual nurturing, harmonious and coordinated.
"I love you, wife!"
Mario Jensen looked deeply into the eyes of the woman beneath him, his voice earnest.
How many years had it been? They were so accustomed to this unspoken understanding that they needed not say it to know the other’s love. To hear such words after so many years, when they were no longer young, was still touching!
The most romantic thing in the world is to grow old with you. Lina Miller was saved by Mario Jensen in her teens, starting over thirty years of companionship, deeply ingrained in her bones.
It took Lina a long time to find her voice, her eyes stinging with tears, and it wasn’t until later that she managed to laugh through her sobs, "We’re such an age now, yet you’re still making such nauseating declarations of love. Aren’t you afraid of being laughed at!"
"Let whoever wants to laugh, laugh! I’m not only going to say it, but I’m going to do it too!"
With that, a passionate and familiar kiss enveloped her....
Soon, Lina surrendered completely to the man’s tenderness. Just as Mario Jensen was preparing his final move, Lina said, "Um... I just finished my period, so it should be the best time for ovulation. Do you think at my age there’s a chance I could get pregnant? Look at Natty Irvin, she’s almost fifty and still able to give birth, and I am much younger than her..."
Before she could finish her sentence, the man got up from on top of her!
"I’m going to get a condom!"
If she got pregnant at this age, it would be tantamount to risking another life. Pregnancy is a tricky thing to talk about; women’s childbearing age is getting higher and higher. I saw on TV last time, a woman in her sixties underwent artificial insemination and had a baby!
Her body is not in great shape even when she was young; the older she gets, the bigger the risk!
"Fabian, don’t go get it. Let’s have another child. Other families all have two; I want another one too. It would give Nora a companion in the future!"
Fabian Nala’s waist was embraced, and the soft pleading voice of the woman came from behind, "We could try..."
"If we don’t use it, then I won’t do it!"
Fabian Nala refused without a second thought, "If you’re worried about Nora and want to find her a companion, let’s go to the orphanage to adopt one. That way, we could have more people to take care of each other—the bond of growing up together can be just as strong as a blood relation, don’t you think?"
"But..."
Lina Miller’s words were interrupted by the sharp ring of the phone.
"Madeline!"
"That breathing doesn’t sound right. Surely, Young Master Jensen isn’t engaging in some senior bedroom gymnastics, is he?"
"Of course not!"
Lina’s whole face turned red. This woman was too amazing, even able to discern something from the sound of breathing. She was simply too sharp. "I was just about to call you, and then you called. It’s perfect timing. I wanted to ask if your John is dating someone?"
"Don’t get me started on that brat—he’s got the talent to drive his mother insane. He doesn’t have a single girlfriend around him, and even his secretary and assistant are all men. He stands me up every time I arrange a blind date for him. I’ve started to suspect he’s gay. I’ve told my husband, Chairman Smith, if his son keeps up this behavior and doesn’t show interest in women, then he can forget about getting into bed with me!"
Lina: "..."
"Your man also wants his son to date and find a wife. What you’re doing doesn’t seem quite right!"
"If a son is not taught, it’s the father’s fault. I have given him a son. If the son grows up to like men, isn’t that his fault?"
Lina: "..."
This claim was truly a fierce fighter jet of an argument. But looking at it this way, it seems she’s behaving normally and isn’t showing signs of early menopause. Madeline is anxious too!
"Well then, how about this, Madeline, when you have time, let your John also go on a blind date, let him team up with Nora. Maybe they can go together; our Nora is resistant too. I’ve been thinking that young people might not accept blind dates. If they go together, it could facilitate communication, and after all, they’ve known each other since they were little."
"That’s a great idea!"
Sienna Harrison liked this excellent idea and was ready to act on it immediately, "Wait for it, I’ll have him go on a blind date tonight, and if he dares to refuse, I’ll accuse him of being unfilial!"
And then, Mr. Smith, busy with a myriad of responsibilities, received a call from his mother!
"Mom, it’s working hours now, what’s wrong again? If there’s something, let dad keep you company!"
