Chapter 341: Desolate Labyrinth (3)
"No, you don’t even have teeth, how would you able to chew?" Chunhua could sense that it was hungry. Thousands of years incubated in the shell without eating anything, this bird’s life is pretty tough.
Haoran took out one piece of Karmic Corn, shucking the husk and shelling the kernels on a bowl before crushing it into tiny pieces using a pestle. He made sure it was not too powdery but just the size of feeds sold in the market. "Try this first." He handed the bowl to her.
Chunhua took the bowl and showed the crushed kernels to Little Noodle. "Little Noodle, see if you like it."
Little Noodle hopped onto the rim of the bow. The little orange fellow tilted its head from side to side and looked at the red grains curiously before trying one. "Chirp Chirp."
Grandpa Trident saw their attempt and clicked his tongue drawing Chunhua’s attention, "A Nether Flame Phoenix won’t eat that. They preferred 5th Class or tier and above precious herbs and monsters meat filled with fire energy."
Fifth Class and Fifth Tier?
Chunhua looked at the kernels on the bowl that remained untouched and Little Noodle’s head turning away expressing its dislike.
Grandpa was right but where would she get Tier 5 Monster meat?
Chunhua placed the bowl back. Unfortunately, she didn’t have any ginseng left in her inventory.
Haoran also showed the karmic rice grains but the phoenix also showed no interest in it and only stared at the three eating at the side but because of iron grip on it, it was not able to steal the food of those three.
Grandpa Trident: The hardest part about beast rearing is feeding. An SSS-level beast will not settle for anything less. Are you still planning on raising it?
Chunhua was hit hard by that question. Heaven knows if she doesn’t move and be lazy to make livelihood, these three would be the causes of her filing for bankruptcy and Little Noodle being picky eater only made it worse.
"Chirp Chirp." Little Noodle struggled.
"Grandpa can the little phoenix eat meat already? It won’t cause indigestion?" Chunhua asked immediately pitying the chick.
Grandpa Trident: As I said, don’t be fooled by its cuteness. Even as a newborn, it can hunt Tier 1-2 monsters alone and get its required nutrients from meat. It’s beak is razor sharp and able to tear into Tier 3 monsters’ scales and thick skin. And its digestive system is already fully developed.
Trusting the old man’s words, Chunhua quickly shared the piece of information to Chef Long.
Haoran conjured a plate of tuna steak meat that was juicy and soft and went to pull them apart into flakes before handing it to Chunhua. "Here."
"Thank you Chef Long." Chunhua expressed her gratitude.
"No need to thank me. You can ask me anytime." Haoran replied in low voice filled with meaningful underlines which cause the Casanova Grandpa to raise his brows and rubbed his beard. Oh, would you look at that....
"Little Noodle, look what Chef Long made for you." Chunhua presented the bowl to the hungry little phoenix and after Little Noodle caught whiff of the aroma.
Grandpa Trident shook his head at the brat’s stubbornness: I already said that won’t work-
But Triton’s conception was once again proven wrong when the ancient nether flame phoenix not only finished the bowl but rather asking for more like the ordinary food was some kind of rare elixir.
Grandpa Triton: <@_@>
The little guy pushed the bowl towards Chunhua. "Chirp Chirp."
"Wait." Chunhua helped Haoran in pulling the fish steaks.
Bowl after bowl, the little phoenix was a very fast eater too and only stopped after the tuna fish meat reserves were at the danger level.
"Chirp Chirp." The little guy wanted to ask for more.
Chunhua looked at the ball of fluff that had a hard time flying because of its bulging tummy and mercilessly said, "No, it’s enough."
Unable to get its Mother’s approval, it turned to Haoran but the man who only listens to one person, cleaned the dirty dishes and stored them in his inventory.
Therefore Little Noodle gave up. (┬┬﹏┬┬)
The three still eating clicked their tongues: Little guy, you should have savor every grain and not be in a hurry.
This brat and her team members were the oddest group he had ever met. Grandpa Triton decided to shut his brain. ( ̄_, ̄ )
Haoran took out the 26 clam chests he obtained in the Armory and handed it to Chunhua.
Chunhua’s eyes hovered over chests, "Are you asking me to open them for you, Chef Long?"
[Unknown Chest- Bronze Quality]
[Unknown Chest- Silver Quality]
[Unknown Chest- White Quality]
[...]
"It’s for you." Haoran answered.
"For me? Why give it to me when it’s your find." Chunhua was taken aback.
"What’s mine is yours." Haoran delivered the words smoothly before emptying his copper coins balance of more than 100, 000 copper coins that he accumulated so far, which he had filled in sacks he converted from white-quality clothes by sewing the edges. "Take these too. I know you need them."
When it comes to copper coins, Chunhua won’t refuse. Chef Long had long ago stated that he didn’t have any usage for them since trade market and earth points shop don’t used them for currencies and used the reason for repaying back the gold coins debt but the chests were a different matter.
Additionally, the problem was her growing conscience of making that ruthless verdict. "You’re always good to me and giving me free stuff. Don’t let me get used to them. By the way, I got lots of weapons and items from defeating those golems. Do you have something you like?"
Haoran looked directly in her eyes and answered right away. "I do."
There it is again, Senior Sister’s look. Chunhua discerned.
Grandpa Trident looked over the young man suspiciously and rubbed his white beard, pondering over the look of his eyes and his generosity. "Are you two together?"
Chunhua’s threw the old genie a stupefied look, "Grandpa, what are you saying? We are just friends."
"Friends my butt. I maybe old but my eyes aren’t blind." Grandpa Trident glanced at the man. "Additionally, I know that look. Those females who were pursuing me before always looked at me like that." Triton reminisced. "The hardest part is always about turning them down."
Triton sighed looking at the distance. "Throughout my youth, I have broken so many hearts. I wonder how those ladies are faring now. I hope they get married in the end and didn’t wait for unrequited love." A sigh again escaped his lips.
It only occurred to Chunhua that Grandpa Triton had some extreme self-absorbed tendencies.
"Grandpa, I’m not interested in that but how about telling me the food you ate out while having your heroic adventures?" Chunhua’s eyes sparkled. Ever since a certain piggy item got poisoned, her food google life was disrupted.
Grandpa Triton was the least excited about food.
Haoran cast the direction his woman was looking at. It has been a while but Xiao Hua would gloss over her shoulders and looked at the space. He was really curious what they are conversing about.
