"You know sealing arrays?" Grandpa Trident crossed his arms and asked incredulously. This brat doesn’t seem that old and she already knows about array formation?

Grandpa Trident was unaware of Chunhua’s identity as a player and if he did, his jaw might fall on the ground.

One had to know that school was very strict and only accept handful of students every 10 years. He had obtained the chance when he was 300 years old after winning the competition but after four years of attending classes, he only learned a few arrays.

"Why does it look like a Demonic Beast Sealing Array?" Chunhua tilted her head and rubbed her chin, finding the pattern very familiar.

This particular array was easy to remember because it looked like a soft turtle’s shell boiled in a soup with five edges representing five basic elements and is used to seal the demonic beast’s mystic power and trapped its movements.

But it usually came with a supporting array- Annihilation Array.

"You know about this?" Grandpa Trident was very surprised and squatted near her, not wanting to miss anything she said since she sounded so knowledgeable. He wanted to ask where she learned it and which temple she was admitted in.

"A little bit. But what do you need this array for and where did you learn it?" Chunhua spun her head towards Grandpa Trident. Her eyes were showing undisguised curiosity.

"It’s a long story. We don’t have all day. You see that crater." Grandpa Trident pointed at the vent coughing out fumes. "It’s the eye of the array and the entire volcano is the array. I need you to strengthen the seal." Grandpa Trident explained. "Because of my absence, I was unable to maintain the array. The seal weakened allowing the sealing site to resurface from the ocean floor."

"Pardon? The whole volcano?" Chunhua choked. She circled around the volcano and calculated the exact range was two kilometers in circumference and she managed to find traces of the array which Grandpa Trident claimed to have made by him. The bigger the range, the more time, resources, and manpower it needed. "But how many years had passed since you made the seal?"

"I had no sense of the time. The last thing I remembered was completing the seal before losing consciousness. But the seal I made should be good for 1, 000 years."

1,000 years?

Then the seal should be at least at Advanced or at Master Level. Chunhua inspected the vicinity and manage to find traces of Demonic Beast Sealing Array here but not Annihilation Array.

"Grandpa, why didn’t you also use Annihilation Array though?" With the support array, there is no need for regular maintenance.

"Annihilation array? What is that?" Grandpa Trident asked. His question obviously indicated he genuinely didn’t about it.

There are certain instances that the target of the Sealing Array may breakthrough because it only seals and if not maintained on a regular basis, it will weaken but the Annihilation array reduced this chance because through this array, the energy source use to maintain the array will be the target’s mystic power and so overtime, it will weaken the trapped beast, draining him to the last strand and ultimately indirectly killing it.

"See Grandpa. By the way, drawing isn’t my major and so ignore the ugly drawing." Chunhua made additional crook lines on the Sealing Array making Grandpa very skeptical at first because her handwriting looked like the toddlers but as he observed the alterations she made more, shock slowly came to his face.

"With it, you don’t need to worry about going on vacation or being M.I.A." Chunhua added.

"Goodness, how did you know about this? Are you an array master?" Grandpa Trident was impressed and scooted closer to Chunhua wanting to establish some friendship.

"My master taught me and because it was convenient. We always run into demonic beast during missions. But in order to make an array without me reaching Golden Core Stage, we need plenty of spiritual stones."

She remembered she won three bags of energy crystals but it isn’t enough. Now that the city is in ruins, there’s no gambling dens in operation any more. If they want to succeed, then they need to find more."

Shivani happened to know where to get them. She should asked her later. "However, Grandpa what exactly is that you sealed?"

Grandpa Trident expression once again turned serious as he said, "You remembered the egg you obtained?"

"What about it?"

"The mother of that egg is the one I sealed. One of the 13 council members serving under that Death Monarch, a Phoenix."

Chunhua stiffened in place and her grip of the stick loosened and it fell on the floor, "That egg is a phoenix? We need to go back, Grandpa. We need to go back before Chef Long cooks it."

"What? You cooked it? Who on their right minds would cook a Phoenix egg?" Grandpa Trident didn’t know that they already made a dragon omelet before or else he might be the first weapon spirit in history to die out from a heart attack.

Chunhua run as fast as she could and by the time she returned, Chef Long had already prepared their table and the meals.

She looked at the table and searched for the omelet and was relieved that she didn’t find one but she was confused why there is a whole roasted chicken.

"Where did you get the chicken Chef Long?"

"From the egg. It’s seems like a special kind of egg." Haoran replied, serving her plate and utensils.
