Chapter 147: The Barrier isn’t totally Kind
"What should we do?" The three young men, who received Aunt He’s shocking message attached with pictures of the hundreds of fist-sized mosquito monsters taken, stopped on their tracks and carefully took a detour where they could hide and monitor the situation from afar.
They met monsters on the way but fortunately it was only between level 1 and level 2. Although they suffered single points of damage it was nothing fatal but the injuries were taking a toll and their speed continued to slow down.
But if they were to think about it carefully, it was actually a blessing because if they had been faster, they would be encounter those mosquitos and without a doubt, in just a few seconds, only their bloodless corpse will remain.
Behind a fruitless, lush bush and fern plants located south of the Boundless Hope Territory, the uninjured man took a short peek and his face paled.

He could see the south was also surrounded.
[Willowy Flower]: Jun, your Uncle Meng isn’t replying to my messages. How is he?
Jun’s eyes became moist and didn’t know how to reveal the sad news to Auntie He.
"Third Brother Jun how is it?" One of injured men asked weakly. His injuries had only been treated superficially and the HP was still continuously dropping every minute.
Jun wiped his eyes before treating the man’s wounds.
"Check on Second brother Cui first." The man pushed Jun’s hand away.
Cui sitting with his head bowed spoke in a tiny voice, "I’m alright. I could still hold on."
[Willowy Flower]: Cui, I can’t contact your brother Jun and Uncle Meng. Can you tell me, what’s going on your side?
[Willowy Flower]: Ge’er, your two brothers and Uncle Meng isn’t responding. Please reply. I’m worried.
"Aunt He is asking for Uncle Meng." Ge whispered in a trembling voice.
Just when Jun and Cui wanted to say something, they heard a series of shouts coming from the territory.
Jun wanted to check but he heard buzzing noises near them. Cui noticing the blood on his two brothers, tore their shirts, wiped the blood off their wounds by using their shirts, before undressing his and he sent all the bloodstained shirt into his inventory.
Then he dug his hands on the muddy ground before spreading them over the parts where there is blood that dropped.
When the noises was still getting closer, he mumbled endure to the two before coating their wounds with mud to disperse the remaining bloody scent.
The other two despite being painful clamped their mouths shouts, not to utter any sounds.
Finally the sounds of buzzing weakened and ceased in a minute. Jun peeked through the small gap and saw the back of the five departing watermelon sized mosquitos.
[Vampiric Bloodsucking Mosquito Warrior Lv.7 (HP: 340/340)]
Jun hasn’t even had the time to feel relief when Aunt He sent them three a message and a picture.
[Willowy Flower]: Jun, tell the others not to come back and search for another territory. Remember, don’t ever return. I will send you supplies.
[Queen Vampiric Mosquito Level 30- (HP: 44,000/44,000)]
Jun, Cui, and Ge burst into tears. Their hopes came crushing at this moment.
"Humans, tell me the whereabouts of the two humans that killed my children and I’ll make your deaths less painful."
A high-pitch screeching voice that will make ears ached reverberated in the entirety of the Boundless Hope Territory, implanting terror in the hearts of the residents.
The Queen Vampiric Mosquito had the same appearance as the rest but it size was huge. Just its wing span alone was twenty meters, casting a shadow over the women, young men and the ground.
And its mouth was a long silver snoot almost resembling a saber with its tip still stained of blood, and its abdominal segments in crimson shade were bulging like a balloon.
Auntie He whose hands were on her sides clutched the corners of her apron in anxiousness.
"Auntie He, what do we do?" The people asked. Hopelessness and despair were evident in their tones.
The barrier will only be staying for three more days and what will happen to them afterwards is ever these monsters will choose to linger around? The answer is obvious and it’s death.
"Humans, speak!" The monster queen impatiently ordered.
"We do not know of anything you speak off!" Aunt He courageously responded.
The queen snorted, "Then I have no use for you if you’re useless."
It raised its antennas and flapped its wings fast until only afterimages were left, releasing a sonic wave attack. The foliage nearby swayed and some rocks were thrown.
The people stepped back in fear but fortunately, the barrier bounced it back negating most of the damage but the people till suffered a single digit damage of [-8], [-9], [-4] and so on. Their ears momentarily became deaf.
The queen was displeased with the result. It flew up and circled around the small territory trying to find a way to enter but upon detecting none, it could only return in anger, before releasing another sonic wave attack.
The people that had yet to recover from the previous attack found themselves succumbing to deafness again.
[-9]
[-6]
Aunt He knowing it will only turn worse if they stayed dragged the people back to the huts before shouting to cover their ears. The damage lessened but the pain remained.
Li Chunhua was right, the barrier won’t be kind enough to block all unfriendly assaults and this was a proof.
Even if the people only suffered a trivial damage points every round but if the queen chose to persevere until the end, they will still be dead.
Similarly to them, Cui, Jun, and Ge’er were unfortunately within the range and suffered double digit numbers.
They lay on the muddy ground and clutched theirs ears.

Meanwhile, still in the edges of the creek, was Li Chunhua who was administering first aid on the unconscious Meng Chu.
Long Haoran was at the sidelines watching the woman’s action. The more he was with her, the more he less understand her because of this skills she possessed.
As far as he knows, those aren’t basic skills that can be learned through repetitive actions but rather he had a feeling she have gained them from special circumstances but what is it?
A gasp cut off his thoughts.
Meng Chu opened his eyes abruptly, sat and coughed at the side. He checked himself of any injuries and opened his status screen.
[HP: 337/400]
[Status Ailments: Small Injuries]
He was stunned and looked around. He saw a young man and a young woman looking at him.
"Uncle, are you okay? How many fingers is this?" Li Chunhua raised two fingers before asking.
