Chapter 146: Me Angry! Me Punch!
Chapter dedicated to Chibi_Wolf38 for the dragon. (^∀^●)ノシ
The monkey was scrutinizing them from the height of ten meters. They looked like a kitten against an adult elephant. Its thick fur covered in gold armor in some places and its bare chest was carved with runes.
Its red eyes laced with indifference stared on the levels of bunch of weak two-legged creatures and gave them a condescending gaze.
"Do any of you know of the two trespassers?" The huge blue-fur monkey spoke using the human language. Though it has difficulty pronouncing words, the shock of Meng Chu and his team were not any less.
Especially, when they saw the system’s prompt above its head.
[Friendly Emperor Yeti Level: 30 (Hidden Boss) - (HP: 52,000/52,000)]
Level 30 and 52,000 HP!
Their faces drained of color.
With their current strength and weapons, they wouldn’t be able to defeat it.
"Run!" No one knew who said that but the shout snapped everyone awake and they all flee.
"Run to the territory. The barrier will hold him off!" Meng Chu added and increased the other three men’s morale.
Right the barrier!
They have hope!
They bolted towards the direction of the team’s territory at their fastest speed.
The Emperor Yeti only uttered, "Fools", before using one of its skills. "Me Angry! Me Smash!"
It jumped ten meters in the air and landed with both of its fisted knuckles first on the ground creating a crater, smashing the area within two hundred meter radius. One could hear the sounds of rocks breaking and trees toppling.
A tiny earthquake occurred affecting their escape. The land under the feet had web-like cracks and two of the fleeing men tripped on these and rolled on the mud. The path was not even and there were rocks scattered around making the two men bumped into them.
The creek was destroyed and water flow everywhere. Some of the piranha within the range of the skill was killed and white lights flew from these dead fishes to the yeti.
The Yeti snorted from the pitiful amount of energy feed to him.
"Uncle Meng! Second Brother is injured!" One of the men cried out and helped the man who was gasping for air.
Thankfully the other one could still stand.
Meng Chu hurried over, checked the young man’s injury.
[HP: 145/300]
[HP: 142/300]
His brows creased tightly as possible scenarios of the outcomes sprang to his mind, before he made a decision.
"I’ll distract the monster. Help your second brother back and get him get treated." Then he emptied all his supplies and gave it to the young men.
Meng Chu dropped these words before sprinting back.
"Uncle Meng!" The three young men called but Meng Chu never looked back. Their eyes reddened as it shifted between the things on the ground and the man’s disappearing back.
Such scenes no matter how many times it happens will always be heart-wrenching.
Apart from Uncle Meng, there were also Uncles before him and they laid all their lives for the younger generations.
One of the three wanted to chase Uncle Meng but the other yanked him back.
"Follow Uncle Meng’s words or his sacrifice will be in vain!"
"But..."
"The Aunties are still counting on us!"
There was a suffocating mixed of silence and faint cries before the three resignedly flee back.
----
Meng Chu stopped when he saw the Yeti walking towards him calmly with its knuckles on the ground.
"Weak ant, I asked you for the last time. Do you know the two humans who trespassed?" The yeti was too lazy to deal with them and only wanted to eliminate the two who killed off more than half of his descendants.
The yeti’s knuckles was taller than Meng Chu and it was only a two meters from him, a single smash and he will be dead yet he needed to make most of the time.
Thus with even every cell of him screaming of fear and despite not knowing who the yeti was referring to, he still answered, "Yes...I know...them, they’re my colleagues and I’ll take you... to them."
"Go on and make it fast." The yeti replied puffing out blue flames of his nostrils, turning the patches of wet grass into black ashes in an instant.
Meng Chu lowered his head hiding the fear in his eyes.
His chest heaved up and down as he stepped inside the Forbidden Zone and blindly headed towards a certain direction, which was coincidentally used as a spot for someone’s ice-making operation.
On the other hand, when the yeti yelled its ’Me Angry! Me Smash!’, Li Chunhua was caught in surprise and the barrel in her hands dropped, spilling the ice on the mud.
If you’re angry, don’t involve my ice!
Li Chunhua stared the ice and the days of iceless Happy Fat Water resurfaced in her minds. There was a funeral song playing in the background.
"My ice..."
Long Haoran looked around in confusion before checking his eardrums, wondering why he was able to hear a piano piece for a funeral song while in a swamp.
Nevertheless, seeing the woman’s grieving over the ice as if she lost something important, his brows furrowed, "Don’t worry about it too much. If we find saltpeter, we can make ice."
The gloomy song in background vanished was replaced by Vivaldi’s Season of Spring.
Long Haoran checked his ears again in confusion.
"Really?" From withered weeds, Li Chunhua’s expression bloomed into that of flower. "But where did you learn it?" Is this saltpeter some kind of artifact? Because in Tianmeng Continent, only through dharma spells, one could create ice.
"School." Long Haoran replied before gazing back at the direction of the creek.
Li Chunhua, who only skipped classes: "..." Dang! Master is right! Knowledge could make a difference, especially in food! Wait, I should review my dharma spells when I go back. It would be helpful in the monster tide to protect my food.
"Human, are you just fooling me? Me Angry! Me Kill!" These words were yelled out loud, enough for it to reach the ears of the two who were discussing saltpeter.
Li Chunhua’s eyes shone fleetingly. Me Angry too!
Long Haoran narrowed his eyes and wanted to advise the woman that they changed their route to avoid whatever creature that was but when he returned his gaze back, his gang leader was gone.
He was abandoned again.
"..." She only cares about the dishes he cooks.
----
Meanwhile, both Meng Chu who was heavily injured and the yeti whose knuckles was halfway to smashing the man with stared at the newcomer squatting on its shoulder.
"Miss leave this place!" Meng Chu propped himself up and grabbed a stone to throw it towards the boss hoping it would attract its attention. "Come at me! You hideous ugly bad-breath monster!"
But the yeti was pissed off from someone audaciously sitting on him to the point it ignore Meng Chu’s insults.
"Me Angry! Me burn you ant!" The yeti roared at Li Chunhua, breathing blue flames from its mouth towards the intruder.
Meng Chu’s heart skipped a beat but it was too late to do anything. He could only watch the female player be burned alive.
His hatred soared and he mustered his strength to crawl towards the yeti with a broken blade of the dagger in his right hand but the yeti as if it had eyes on its side raised one its feet to kick the Meng Chu.
But before it could hit the man, the yeti’s toes hit a metal surface and a sound similar to when the cathedral’s bell was struck echoed in Meng Chu’s ear.
Both Meng Chu and the boss were shocked to see a large frying with someone’s face forged on its bottom.
The frying pan: Boss, can you repair me first before using me again! Aren’t you ashamed of swinging me around with this face present on my butt? Because if you’re not ashamed then I am!
Long Haoran’s hand numbed from the collision and he was pushed a meter back.
Yeti wanted to yell another ’Me...Me...’ dialogue but two delicate hands appeared and each grabbed its lower and upper jaws before closing it abruptly. The force applied into that action made some of the yeti’s teeth break and its mouth bled.
The yeti let out muffled cries from the pain and its eyes straightened on the amount of HP that was taken.
[-1500]
"Your breath stinks. Me Angry." A voice whispered to its ears and before the yeti could respond. Its cheek was punched and it was thrown flying, with its feet several meters off the ground, crushing into a dozen of trees, destroying the landscape of the forbidden zone.
[-3500]
Long Haoran just retrieved his pan and changed it back to its original form when the damage bracket had appeared and Meng Chu caught sight of it and was stunned.
Are you kidding me? More than a thousand damage?
The Yeti was also shocked and angered at the same time. It propped itself up before yelling. "Me Angry! Me cursed you!"
"Me yeti, me powerful! Me yeti, me handsome! Me yeti, me unbeatable! Me yeti, me crush all of you!"
A sound wave escaped its bleeding mouth, spitting out narcissistic remarks.
[You’ve been cursed by the spell ’Me Yeti! Me Handsome!’ Duration: 24 hours]
Both Long Haoran and Meng Chu received the prompts. Their ears hurt and experienced dizziness while only Li Chunhua stood unaffected and sprinted towards the off-key singer who was doing more badly that when she was singing twinkle twinkle.
"How? Me confused!" Why is this human alright?
The only answer he got was another punch to his mouth, sending him flying for another dozen of meters.
[-4500]
The yeti had no choice but to use its most destructive spell.
"Me Angry! We kill you!"
Its injured form split into four identical yetis surrounded Li Chunhua and began used their bad-breath flames to a maximum temperature, burning the surroundings nearby.
"Us Angry! Us burn you!"
The flames was so intense that it spread immediately around, eating all the greeneries and eventually spread.
Long Haoran fortunately recovered on time when the flame was only ten meters away and carried the injured Meng Chu while searching for traces of Li Chunhua.
Because this zone was habitat to not only the imps, crocs and mosquitos, Long Haoran encountered monsters escaping the burning forest and killed them off.
[You’ve got 100 experience points]
[You’ve got...]
He didn’t give up navigating his way trying to find the gang leader until he suffered difficulty in breathing from the smoke.
He could only find a safe place first, took out two fabrics, wetting them with water before tying it around the man and his face.
Meng Chu had long unable to endure from the inhalation of smoke and passed out.
Long Haoran tied the man around his back to make sure he doesn’t fall before going back in the burning forest.
But before he could execute his plan, the sky darkened and rain poured down extinguishing the fire. But the odd thing was he could see the monsters’ agility stat decreased by 10%, from where he was hiding.
Suddenly, a screen appeared in front of him.
[Global Announcement: Congratulations to Player Anonymous in Newbie Mountains No. 27 for the first player to kill a Hidden Elite Boss. Rewarding 3000 earth points, an epic chest and a title: Hidden Elite Boss’ Conqueror.]
Long Haoran let out a sigh of relief. Looks like she is safe though he felt powerless as he began to compare himself to her. He needed to improve his strength more.
"Are you okay Chef Long?" The familiar voice of a person he was concerned a while ago echoed behind him.
He turned back and saw the charcoal-stained face looking at him with concern.
He untied the fabric, wiped the girl’s face before replying, "Me fine. Me wipe your face."
( ̄_ ̄|||) Did I just say that?
Long Haoran cleared his throat.
"Me mean, me fine."
"Me fine. Me confuse."
"Me..."
Li Chunhua: (⊙_⊙)? Chef Long what happened to you?
Long Haoran: ( ̄_, ̄ ) What happened to him?
---
Meanwhile in Meng Chu’s territory, the problem had not ceased because another group of monsters were buzzing around and poking the barrier with their needle-like snoots.
Aunt He immediately sent Meng Chu and the other four a message.
[Willowy Flower]: Brother Meng, don’t come back yet. There are monsters outside!
