Chapter 99: Ch 99: Have a nice day - Part 2

The alpha wanted to ask another question, but he asked this instead. Until now, he had not even thought this question had bugged him, but he continued focusing on her food.

Only after he blasted her with pheromones did Anabella look up from her food and give Daniel an annoyed glare.

"Fine! I will tell you where I got the money to buy these ingredients. I borrowed the money from a friend. Can you leave me alone now if your curiosity has been sated? I do not want to associate with you more than I already have."

Anabella spoke harshly, and Daniel felt it was his ’duty’ to tell his wife what she could and could not do.

"You borrowed money from your friend? Have you gone mad? Do you know what kind of consequences this could have on us? Why a friend of all people? Am I not enough-"

"You froze my accounts and left me to fend for myself. I am sure I am entitled to do whatever I need to at that point. And on that note, can you unfreeze my accounts already? I need to repay my friend the money I borrowed from him."

Anabella asked with a serious face, and Daniel felt speechless.

Here he was, trying to tell Anabella not to do something, and she replied that she wanted whatever she wanted.

The female omega sensed the second she managed to push Daniel over the edge. She could feel he was about to lash at her and say hurtful words, so she braced herself for them.

"You stupid omega! Think about the consequences of your actions. Can’t you have called me... never mind, just stay put and do not leave the house for the next few weeks while I track down the bastard who has this blackmail material on me."

Daniel gritted his teeth as he grounded Anabella. It was her turn to get angry at her husband.

"Are you confiding me to our house? And you think I will follow whatever you want me to do? Stop dreaming and come back to your senses. I would much rather stay out of this house than to be in here."

It was said in a rage, and Anabella did not mean it. She had nowhere else to go if she was kicked out of there.

But her anger and annoyance made her see red, and she yelled these words.

As soon as she spoke, she knew she had made a mistake. Her husband’s eyes flashed, and he quickly decided for her.

"Fine! It looks like we won’t be able to see eye-to-eye on this. In that case, you might leave now and not return. From then on, you and I have no relationship except on paper. Empty out this place by the time I come back tomorrow."

Daniel angrily slammed the door behind him as he returned to his room. It was clear that he had said whatever he wanted to in a fit of rage.

But anger was one emotion that could drag out whatever was hidden in the depths of one’s consciousness. And it seemed that this was what Daniel thought of Anabella in the first place.

To say that it hurt would be an underestimation.

Anabella’s food lost its taste as she pushed the plate away. She stood up and sighed before she walked to the kitchen to store the food for later. There was no point in wasting all this food.

Once she was done, she began to go over her options of what she could do.

She did not want to crash into another house and disturb them, so Clair and Noah were out. She could also not return home because she knew her mother and her temper. It would only end in disaster.

The best thing to do would be to get a job and a temporary residence until Anabella could support herself. Thankfully, one place was always short on back staff.

"Well, I did think that I might apply to a bakery one day if I got the chance to, but I never expected that it would be under these circumstances. But oh well, what can we do about it anyway?"

Anabella sighed before she packed the necessities out of her closet and decided to pack.

Unfortunately, she would have to travel light because she did not want others to know her thoughts.

The smart thing to do would be to pretend that this never happened. Anabella was not old enough to run away from home.

But she decided to disregard both of these points and leave as the first ray of sun shone.

The guard at the front door did not stop her, even when he saw the bag in Anabella’s hand. He likely thought Anabella was heading to her mother’s house for a vacation.

"Have a nice day, madam. I hope you look and feel better once you return home."

The guard wished Anabella, and she wanted to smile a bitter smile back at him.

Anabella was having the worst time of her life but did not want to advertise it. So, she just smiled and kept walking.

Once she was out, it was just a short walk to the bakery, which was thankfully opening by this time.

The bakery owner was a sweet couple in their seventies with no children. They always welcomed Anabella warmly when she came around, and this time was no different.

However, they noticed her luggage and had worried expressions on their faces.

"Madam, can I apply for a job in the back bakery? I promise I am a good baker, even if I don’t have a degree. If you don’t mind, you can test me first and then decide if you want to take me in."

Anabella offered, but the looks of concern she received made her feel ashamed and guilty for taking advantage of this kindness. She was just as bad as most people when it came to gaining what she wanted.
