Chapter 90: Ch 90: Don’t have a face left - Part 2
"Hey, what happened? Is everything alright? Do you not want to play anymore?"
Anabella’s face threatened to turn a lovely shade of red when asked this question, but she quickly tried to deflect the question and attention when asked this question.
"No, it’s nothing like that. I do want to play, but I also feel a little tired. I want to sit down first and wait for my tiredness out."
Anabella knew that her excuse was not strong enough. She could feel the judgment-filled eyes looking at her before Noah decided this would not work. He could tell when Anabella was holding herself back, and now was such a time.
*Sigh*
"You know what? If you feel tired, you don’t have to play in the arcade, but I still want you to come with me. And before you say anything, I refuse to take ’no’ as an answer."
Noah’s hand closed around Anabella’s wrist before he pulled her toward the arcade.
The man at the front seemed to know Noah, and Anabella felt that Noah was important for his place, as Anabella could see his eyes widen.
"W-Welcome, Mister Park. I-Is there anything I can help you with-"
"A pass for two. I am here with my friend, and we would like to have some fun."
Noah’s words made the manager look her way, and his eyes hardened with shock and suspicion.
This was the first time Noah had dragged an omega with him, so the manager looked startled by his behavior, especially since he had been sure Noah was in a relationship with another alpha.
Noah Park’s relationship with Clair Anderson was well-known in these parts, and people respected that couple.
So, having Noah here with someone else in a way that seemed to be cheating did not sit well with the manager.
He wanted to speak up, but Noah’s glare made him settle down and realize that it was not worth arguing with the man about this.
"Of course, master! Should I give these passes unlimited access? What name should I put the second pass under?"
The manager asked in a disappointed voice.
Though he felt bad for betraying Lady Clair, the man knew he had no choice but to follow Noah’s orders.
"Put it under Anabella’s name. No last name, just a first name. We will wait for the passes inside."
Noah dragged the female behind him, but his eyes kept the manager locked.
The man felt his heart skip a beat before realizing he needed to snap out of it and start working.
But no matter how much the manager tried to avoid thinking about it, Noah’s betrayal hit him hard, and he felt forced to tell Clair about it.
Noah and Clair came here often enough that the manager had their numbers. He gathered some courage before dialing the number that could cause a problem.
"Hello, who is it?"
Clair picked up her work call quickly, and she sounded impatient. It made the manager feel even worse, but he knew he could no longer keep quiet.
"Madam, I am afraid that I have some terrible news for you. Your partner, Mister Park, came to this arcade with an unknown omega partner. I am afraid that he might be cheating on you."
The manager waited for the fireworks to start.
Most people would only hear this much before their switch flipped. But Clair Anderson was a clam alpha who was often more rational than needed.
Her lack of outbursts worried the manager. He feared that the alpha was suppressing too much and that knowing what had happened might make her feel terrible.
"I see. Thank you for calling me about this, but there is no need to report these things to me in the future. I am not Noah’s caretaker; he can care for himself just fine."
Clair spoke with a sigh. She sounded tired, no, exhausted to the point that she could not even care to bother.
Seeing her like this made the manager feel even worse, so he decided to tell Clair more.
"Madam, don’t worry. If you want me to, I can freeze Sir Noah’s account along with his partner, Miss Anabella’s account, and cut off his access from all our systems-"
The manager received a reaction from the female alpha for the first time since this conversation started. It was a curse followed by a few choice words that...were better left unsaid in polite company.
"Shit! I made a mistake....but did you say he had Anabella with him anyway? That cunning bastard! I was supposed to take Anabella out first...*Sigh*...it doesn’t matter anymore. Listen, you take good care of Anabella.
If I hear a single word of complaint from her mouth, then you will die a painful death. Do you understand what I am saying? You better keep yourself in check if you want to survive."
The manager felt a shiver go down his spine at that threat. He felt like his life was flashing before his eyes as he considered what to do now.
He also realized he had gotten the whole situation wrong and needed to correct his mistake.
"Madam, do you want me to run some interference for you? If you want, I can make it difficult for Master Noah to have a good time."
The manager asked intensely, but he did not think his offer would be considered, much less accepted by the female he was talking to.
"Hmm, that sounds like a tempting offer, and I will take you up. Make sure you handle this situation well, and I will see you this evening."
The manager shivered as the phone call ended. He suddenly realized he might have been a little over his head saying all this.
’Eh, who cares? I just need to keep doing what I have been doing, and it will be fine. This is also a great opportunity to gather Miss Clair’s favor. I cannot waste it this time. This is a golden opportunity.’
