Chapter 89: Ch 89: Don’t have a face left - Part 1

When Anabella had left the house, she did not have a plan. She had decided to spend her day out but had no idea what to do without money in her account.

Daniel had not yet unfrozen her account, and Anabella did not want to ask him to unlock it. It felt shameful to ask her husband for anything when she did not want to rely on him.

Anabella had just enough money for a single bus ride and nothing else, which made her feel lost.

Just when she thought she should spend her day in the park and forget about anything else, her phone rang, and a familiar number covered her screen. The caller ID showed Noah, and Anabella hesitated to pick up the call.

But in the end, she decided to pick up the call to hear what the older alpha had to say to her.

"Bella, do you have time? I want to hang out with someone, but no one is available. If you have time, can I swing by and pick you up? It won’t take long for me to arrive either..."

Noah whined as he begged Anabella to let him keep him company. He sounded bored and wanted to have some fun with her.

From what Anabella knew, Noah had a high-paying job that often kept him busy. He could not be seen outside too often and was ambitious about reaching new goals.

That was the person she had known since her childhood days.

But that was not the image she got when she talked with him now. Now, Noah felt more like a kid who had a lot of free time and did not care in the world. It made her wonder what had happened to make her friend like this.

"Are you sure you want to spend your day with me? Do you not have any responsibilities to take care of? Your employees might feel annoyed if you keep ditching your work all the time like this."

Anabella did not want to tease Noah, but these words escaped her mouth before she could stop herself.

Once these words were out, Anabella saw no point in holding her words back, and she decided to openly embrace the fact that she was going to ask Noah questions that could make him feel uncomfortable.

As expected, Noah quickly became quiet when Anabella asked him the question. This was to show that he was shy and did not want to talk about it.

Still, he did answer Anabella when she asked him the question.

"Well, most of my work can be done remotely, and I have many people under me who pick up the slack for me. So, even if I have a lot of work to do on the surface, the real amount of work I need to do is very little."

Anabella made an understanding noise, but she did not understand. She wanted to know what Noah did, but her mother and Clair stopped her from asking Noah.

That warning had stuck to Anabella, and she did not dare ask Noah any question about it even now.

"Bella, I asked you a question. Should I come to pick you up or not?"

Noah asked, but he seemed to be already in his car. Since that was the case already, what was the point in trying to stop him? It was better to have Noah come to her and keep her company.

"Fine, you can come to me and keep me company. I was getting bored anyway, so I thought I might as well enjoy some time with friends."

Anabella agreed, and no sooner had she said it than she heard a loud horn in her ear.

"I am here. Are you in the park, because I can see you? I blew a horn your way so that you could notice me."

Noah confirmed that he was the one who sounded that horn. It had been loud enough to make Anabella’s heart skip a beat.

She was not the only one who had been affected by that horn.

Most dogs around her seemed excited and ready to head toward that horn. But Anabella was the first to get up, walk toward that expansive vehicle, and open the side door to get out.

"Can you quickly drive? I feel like they are all looking at me, making me feel nervous."

Anabella pointed out before she pulled the car door close behind her. Her face was red, and it was buried between her legs. She refused to show her face, causing Noah to snicker at her before he drove away.

She had no idea where the Alpha was taking her, and at this point, Anabella refused to ask. She would just take their destination as a surprise so she did not have to worry about it.

Noah went to the arcade, but this was not the small one in their town. It was the arcade of the town over, and it was huge, with many machines to play at.

Anabella had always wanted to come here but never had time. She had to work to maintain her position in school and prove to everyone that she deserved her grades and class position.

’Not that it helped in the end. Mother still got me married before I could do anything with my life.’

Anabella sighed as she exited the car, and Noah followed her. This arcade could be a lot of fun, but when Anabella arrived at the entry, she realized she did not have money.

No matter how much she wanted to curse, words refused to come out of her mouth, and she turned around.

It took Noah a few moments to catch up to her, but he looked startled at Anabella’s retreating form once he did.

"Hey, what happened? Is everything alright? Do you not want to play anymore?"

Noah asked in a worried voice. He reached out to touch Anabella’s face, but she pulled back with a blush on her face.
