Chapter 59: Ch 59: Staying out - Part 3

Anabella had decided to have a fun day outside where she did not have to worry about anything related to her family or alpha.

Clair and Noah had invited her out, but she had hesitated to go. However, once she was told that there were a few other people at the night out and a few former Omegas classmates, the decision became much easier for her to make.

Anabella had decided to take public transport since she doubted Daniel would lend her the car and driver.

The alpha sounded against this outing, but Anabella would not let someone else control her life today.

She made her way out without anything but her phone and spare change in her pocket. But her phone, with the account access, was all she needed to reach the destination she needed to go.

However, as soon as she made her way out to meet her friends, she encountered a problem — her accounts had been frozen, and Anabella could not withdraw any money from them.

This had Daniel written all over it, and the alpha had deliberately done this to make Anabella anxious and destroy her outing.

Without money, Anabella won’t be able to reach her final destination. But heading back inside meant that she won’t be able to leave.

’That stupid husband of mine...how the hell is he so fast when causing me trouble?’

Anabella bit her lip and was about to call Clair to tell her she couldn’t make it when she suddenly got a call from the person she had been thinking of calling.

The sudden ringing almost caused Anabella to drop the phone she was holding. Thankfully, she had a tight grip on it and managed to keep it secure.

She quickly picked up the phone, but she did not expect much from the person on the other side.

"Clair, sorry I am late. But I don’t think I can make it today. I left the house without my wallet, and my bank had money issues. The driver is also busy, so how about I not make it?"

Anabella was sure that her friends wouldn’t mind.

They had gone a whole year without seeing her so that they could manage without her. Besides, she was well aware of her reputation among her classmates.

They did not like to approach her willingly. Being near her classmates would only complicate things for her and them.

’This truly is the best solution for everyone. I am sure that Clair and Noah would understand and agree-!’

That was all in Anabella’s head. Clair made a frustrated noise when she heard Anabella unable to make it.

"It’s not a problem. We are just leaving for the destination as well. So, if you can tell me where we need to pick you up from, I will come. Noah is driving, so we would arrive even faster today."

Anabella almost cut the phone and told the pair they did not need to come.

The last time she sat with Noah as he drove was the day she almost died. Anabella had no desire to repeat that experience in her life.

Clair must have known what she was thinking because she laughed before clarifying things for Anabella.

"Don’t worry! Noah has improved a lot in terms of safety and following rules. He won’t act like he did in the past. But if you are still worried, we can switch the drivers once we pick you up. Now, where do we need to come?"

The alpha would not take ’no’ for an answer, and it was clear. It made Anabella sigh, and she gave in.

Somehow, the alpha pair did not even take fifteen minutes to come and pick her up. This was surprising and hopeful for Anabella at the same time. But as quickly as she felt those feelings, she crushed them all under emotions.

Anabella settled into the car, and they were about to head out when she received a call from James’s school.

It sounded urgent, but Anabella felt bad about asking the alpha pair for help.

"Looks like I won’t be able to make it. You should drop me off here. I will call Daniel and arrange something-"

The air turned tense, and Anabella realized she made a mistake talking about other alphas in front of her friends. It must have struck their pride as an alpha to have someone else mentioned before them for some work.

"Bella, it’s no problem for us to make a detour and take you where you need to go. Now, tell us the directions, and we will reach the premises without much time wasted."

Clair spoke softly, and her words felt like binding that Anabella did not want to get rid of.

She told the alpha pair where to go and asked them to wait outside.

James was sulking inside the classroom, waiting for someone to come and pick him up. He also looked ashamed that he could not help Sharon despite knowing there was no reason for her to be captured.

"Oh, then god, you arrived so early. We were so worried when we saw James with that unknown lady. I tried calling his father, but he did not answer. Thank god you were here to take him."

The class teacher made a bigger deal out of this than it needed to be. But it was nice to see that this was a responsible school that did not let its kids go whenever they had an excuse.

"Ah, thank you for calling me about this, but I can assure you that everything is fine. That lady is...our new caretaker, and we asked her to bring James to school today. You do no need to keep her in custody like this."

Anabella assured the classroom teacher, but the beta did not look convinced.

"I see. Miss, you should be careful around people like that caretaker. She has much bigger dreams than someone in her position should have. If you are not careful, she might also try to harm you."
