The Billionaire's Ex-Wife Returns!
Chapter 29: Manipulating the Whole Scenario

Chapter 29: Manipulating the Whole Scenario

Getting a resounding and painful slap on the face woke the store manager from her delusions.

She no longer considered Emma and her other two friends as someone who was still young and immature. They were nothing but lawless people!

"You slapped me?" the store manager held one side of her face with her hand and glared at Sophie.

Sophie was slightly surprised when another person suddenly appeared to stop them. Why did she come here?

But instead of feeling apologetic for slapping the store manager, Sophia was enraged by the glare she got from the former.

"Yes, I did! What are you going to do about it?" Sophie replied, proud of herself.

The store manager scoffed. She repeated Sophie’s question, "What am I going to do about it?"

Suddenly, Emma had an odd premonition. But she couldn’t tell what it was. She was still bathing in the glow of pleasure in looking down at someone who was below her station.

It had been a while since she was able to relieve her stress. Her brother has grown too cold towards their family, not even coming home these past few years or seeing them during holidays. Landon didn’t even come to see their mother when she fell sick and was sent to the hospital.

And the most frustrating thing was it all started when Lucy disappeared from the mansion!

That slut never stopped giving them trouble even after she left!

Because of the changes in their home, if it could even be called that, Emma hanged out more with her friends. She spent most of her days shopping and clubbing. And there was no one to stop her because she’s the sister of the chairman of Westwood Group.

Even now, she doubted anything would affect her.

Sophie’s action only made her fill with joy and satisfaction.

But because of this, Emma didn’t see what was about to happen.

The store manager’s nostril flared. She turned around and entered a room. When she reappeared, a tablet was in her hands.

Emma, Trisha, and Sophie watched with varying emotions. Curiosity, amusement, and indifference. Altogether, they didn’t care what the store manager had in store for them as they thought of themselves as immovable.

But just as their emotions heightened to another level, three pings were heard.

It all came from their phones.

Emma’s eyebrows moved down as she wondered why their phones rang at the same time.

The timing was extremely strange.

It didn’t feel right at all!

Emma didn’t want to know what caused this. She didn’t even dare move. But her other two friends weren’t too happy when they heard the pings.

Especially, Sophie, who was still arrogantly grinning at the store manager.

"What the hell... is this real?" Beside them, Trisha uttered in shock while her head was lowered to look at her phone.

Emma and Sophie turned to her. They sent questioning looks at her.

But Trisha didn’t look their way. She had her eyes glued on her phone and her body trembled.

"No, you can’t do this! You can’t revoke my loyalty membership in the store!"

Trisha blew up instantly. She strode towards the store manager and demanded it to be returned.

"You’re nothing but a store manager! You shouldn’t be allowed to do this!"

But the store manager laughed coldly at her face. "But I can. And I already revoked all your store membership and filed a complaint against your violent actions to the headquarters!"

If Emma still didn’t want to look at her phone, now that she heard what Trisha and the store manager had just said, her hands itched.

She hurriedly pulled out her phone. As Trisha had previously said, they received a notification of their store membership being revoked and the reasons behind it were also written there.

If they got this notification, then the other VVIP and loyal members of the store also got this notification!

Having her membership taken from her was one thing. But knowing other people from the upper circle took wind of what had happened was too humiliating!

The store was not a simple one, either. It was an only-members store, and it was rare for the store manager to let a non-member in. And the only way to become an official member of the store was through another member’s recommendation and connection.

Emma used her mother’s membership card. But it was obtained through her mother’s connection. Now that this was revoked, her mother will certainly scold her!

"No way..." Sophie

As for Sophie, she was the one whose father was less wealthy compared to Trisha’s and Emma’s family. So, she took a lot of blows from this situation!

She initially wanted to use Emma and Trisha’s connection to the store. And for three years, she consistently made purchases so she could be eligible for the membership. She only just got her membership last month. But her main goal was to meet other wealthy ladies and if she was lucky, she might even encounter powerful and rich bachelors!

Now, that was gone as well!

"What should we do?" Sophie turned to Emma and Trisha for help. The two came from a diamond-spoon, unlike her. They definitely have some ways to get out of this sticky situation!

Unfortunately, Sophie forgot that they were also using their mother’s membership cards!

"This is your fault!" Trisha exploded and pointed at Sophie. "If you hadn’t made a scene, would this even happen?"

Sophie couldn’t believe Trisha was blaming her now.

"She’s right, Sophie. You took things too far!" Emma also joined in passing the blame. She turned to the store manager and said, "Manager, we’re not the ones who did these things. It was her, so just let her take responsibility alone!"

Emma didn’t want to anger her mother by losing her store membership!

She needed to have it returned today!

Unfortunately, their effort to make Sophie take all the responsibility backfired as the store manager had already made up her mind.

"Please leave the store or I will have the security haul you three out!" the store manager announced.

Emma, Trisha, and Sophie had to leave even if they didn’t want to. They tried to convince the store manager, but she was adamant about making them disappear from her sight.

As the three girls made their way to the doorway, Emma bumped into a woman.

However, Emma was too out of it to take notice of her as she hurriedly left.

Lucy, on the other hand, stared at Emma’s back with a cold smirk on her lips.

Emma had relied much on what she had and took advantage of it. She and her friends were so close to each other that they ganged up on bullying Lucy.

But just a single event created a chip in their so-called ’friendship’.

And unfortunately, Lucy wasn’t stopping there.
