The Billionaire's Ex-Wife Returns!
Chapter 28: Still Too Young?

Chapter 28: Still Too Young?

Emma was at a loss. What does the saleslady mean by this?

Seeing the changes in her face, her friend, Sophie, stood up and approached the saleslady to intimidate her.

Lifting her hand to pat the saleslady’s shoulder, Sophie said, "Are you pissed that we made you stand as a dress model? Is that why you’re lying in our faces? This is why poor bitches like you can never get far in their lives. You’re filled with pride even though it cannot fill your wallet. What’s the use of that? Just bow down your head and apologize, then we might save you this job and not fire you."

The saleslady shook in fear and anger. "I’m not lying. You can ask the store manager if you want!"

Then, she turned around to leave.

However, Sophie couldn’t allow herself to be disrespected like this. Especially, not in front of Emma, the chairman of Westwood Group’s younger sister!

"You poor bitch! See if I don’t give you a lesson!" Sophie grabbed the saleslady by the hair.

"AH!"

The saleslady was scared for her life as her hair was caught in Sophie’s hands. She struggled to escape, but who knew Sophie would take this opportunity to use her nails to scratch the saleslady’s face?!

Emma and her other friend, Trisha Browne, watched as Sophie terrorized the saleslady. They did nothing to stop this. Instead, they took pleasure in seeing the bloodied face of the saleslady and hoped she would regret ever thinking she could be anything but a worm under their feet!

"What the hell are they doing?" the store manager, who had just finished the transaction for Lucy’s purchase, stared in shock as that one spot became a one-sided war.

Although they were far from them, Sophie’s voice was too loud and rang inside the store like a megaphone.

Because of this, some passersby couldn’t help but stop in front of the store to spectate.

Embarrassed and confused about why this happened inside the store, the store manager stepped forward to stop the situation from escalating.

But just as she took her first step, a hand shot up to grab her, stopping the store manager from advancing forward.

Looking back to the owner of her hand, the store manager frowned. "Ma’am, please let go."

"Why? Are you going to stop them?" Lucy asked as if it wasn’t the obvious answer.

"Of course! This will ruin the store’s image if I don’t go and stop them." The store manager tried to brush off Lucy’s hand, but she was surprised that she had not budged from where she stood.

At first, she thought the woman looked frail because of her pale complexion, but the strength in her hand was no joke!

"Ma’am, can’t you let go?" the store manager stopped struggling and looked at Lucy straight in the eye.

Lucy smiled and said, "I will. But don’t go there just yet."

"Yet? Why?"

"Because I said so."

The store manager was stumped for words. However, even if she wanted to go and stop the commotion, the mere pressure she received from Lucy held her body hostage.

"Don’t you think it’s funny?"

Suddenly, the store manager heard Lucy speak beside her.

"This store has been here for a long time and serviced powerful and wealthy people. Yet, these girls

dared to make a scene and did not care if the store would be affected by their actions..."

Lucy watched as the store manager listened to her words and the meaning slowly dawned on her.

But she continued as if she didn’t notice it. "What would the store’s other loyal customers say when they hear a certain group of girls like them were customers? What would you do if they ended up offending people who are much wealthier and more influential than them? Besides, look outside."

The store manager was compelled to turn her head, eyes widening as she saw more than ten people had gathered outside. Some of them even held a phone to capture this scene.

There was no need to think about what that meant. The store was being streamed online and the store manager was sure that in another hour, she would get a call from the headquarters to take responsibility!

She knew she should shake off Lucy and hurry to stop this from happening. Yet, her body still refused to move.

"This... this happened because you bought the dresses they want," the store manager said softly, like a whisper.

"Is it?" Lucy chuckled. "And what would you do if this happened again? And if it happened to a VVIP customer? Are you going to blame them and let these girls continue acting like this? If you’d allow them... I’ll really applaud your generosity to take care of the young... But will you even keep this job by then?"

The store manager didn’t know that she was being manipulated. And even if she does, she couldn’t do anything about it since she had already fallen into Lucy’s trap.

"So, which choice are you going to take? Will you bend your back for them or are you going to save the store’s image and keep your job?"

The store manager took in each scene in front of her. On one side, Emma and her friend beat up the saleslady to a pulp without respect for the place they were in. They were daughters of huge companies in the country and they couldn’t be offended, no matter what. On the other hand, the store can be damaged by their actions and other VVIP and loyal customers will start to question the discipline inside the store.

Each side seemed like a tall mountain she needed to climb.

But one thing’s for sure...

Her position as a store manager wouldn’t exist if she sided with the girls!

Still, she held a bit of hesitance inside her.

However, that was enough for Lucy as she finally released the store manager’s hand.

As soon as she was let go, the store manager headed toward the commotion to try to appease the girls first. Maybe, they will understand the situation and calm down. Then, she wouldn’t have to offend them! As much as she could, she mustn’t offend both sides!

Lucy coldly smirked as she read the store manager’s mind. She crossed her arm in front of her chest when suddenly, a loud ’pa’ was heard and the store manager, who wanted to calm the tension inside the store, was slapped by one of the girls.

"Can’t you see? They’re no young girls." Lucy coldly stared at Emma’s face. "They’re just beasts hidden beneath a human’s skin."
