The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress -
Chapter 60: FATE 4
Chapter 60: Chapter 60: FATE 4
The Frostcrowns were one of the most powerful ancient families remaining in Kairana, and unlike other families that love controlling governments; the Frostcrowns weren’t bothered with the governance of a country.
After all, it wasn’t like they hadn’t tasted what it was like to do so.
Like every child in every ancient family, Amir was sent to the world where he lived like a normal rich by, attended school and everything. He was like a character in a son-in-law novel. Fortunately, he wasn’t so unfortunate to become one but lived freely as his family advocated freedom. Otherwise, how could he have met Zara and been smitten like this?
However, just like any other ancient family, they all have their traditions and one of them was related to the particular eternal ring that Zara desperately wanted.
The ring was passed to the heir and first-born child of the family. In this current generation, Amir was the first-born son, though he didn’t become the heir due to some reasons.
The ring wasn’t meant for him actually, but according to tradition, it was to be passed to his bride. Only a woman who would take on the mantle of being his wife was allowed to wear the ring and take it as his.
That was a tradition that couldn’t be broken and there was nothing he could do in this situation.
He didn’t want to force her to make a decision quickly because of that, and yet he understood that if the ring meant so much to her, she would have no choice but to accept the inevitable.
At the same time, he was also a bit selfish. One of the reasons why he didn’t waste time but contacted her as soon as he realized that she was looking for his ring.
As long as she accepted the ring, Zara would have no choice but to be tied to him forever. Wasn’t this the fastest way and shortcut of tying her to his side?
He didn’t need to go to such great lengths to woo her whilst being afraid that she would reject his advances either due to her sickness or Quinn’s position in her heart.
Once the ring was on her finger, the only thing remaining was to go and propose to her house and seal the deal.
However, he also didn’t want to scheme her into wearing it. At least he wanted her to know of the ins and outs of everything before she accepted the ring from him.
That was why he told her a bit about his family. With more information to digest, it would be easy for her to make a decision.
And when she heard up to that point, her heart finally went still.
’I knew that it wasn’t that easy to get the ring. Traditions and traditions. But somehow it makes sense. But what should I do?’ she was in a dilemma.
Seeing her in that state, Amir felt bad, but there was no choice for him except to do that.
"Dear, you don’t have to stress yourself that much. Just think about it. I will give you two days and in those two days, I will not appear in front of you. On the third day, I will come to your house and ask you for your answer!" he said to her softly, afraid that if he were to force her, she might flee from him.
Zara sighed dejectedly as she kept on thinking of the great burden that was about to descend on her. She was in a dilemma, actually. She wanted the ring so much as it was the first important step to reclaiming her life and breaking the curse.
If she doesn’t get the ring, then she won’t be able to get the coordinates of the second relic needed. So come hell and come thunder, Zara knew that she didn’t have a choice, but just agreeing to the conditions like that wasn’t what she would do.
She didn’t want to give in so easily, just like that.
"You won’t pressure me?" she asked nervously as she looked at him, holding the ring tightly in her hand.
Amir nodded his head without saying a word, but the smile on his face somehow made her feel reassured.
"Huh, fine. Give me two days then. I will give you an answer on that day," she sighed acquiescingly.
Amir was relieved hearing her say that. As long as she accepted that condition, then the possibility of her agreeing to become his bride would be high.
All he needed to do now was wait patiently for the answer.
"I will wait but always remember that whatever decision you make, my feelings for you are real," he didn’t forget to earn some brownie points from her.
Zara helplessly smiled as she loosened her clenched fist, revealing the ring in her hand.
"You can take it for now!" she said reluctantly as she stretched her small hand towards him.
When he saw that, he couldn’t help but smile helplessly. "Dear, you can go with it for now. if you don’t want it after two days, I will take it back with me."
"You .... Are you not afraid of me running away with it?" Zara asked hesitatingly as she looked at him.
Amir burst into a hearty laughter when he heard that.
"Dear, even if you run away to the end of the world, I will still find you. Besides, I trust you and you aren’t that kind of person!" he affectionately told her with a smile.
Zara was relieved when she heard that. She was really reluctant to part with the ring after seeing it in person after nearly two months.
How could she be willing to just return it?
"I will hold it for you then!" she said, smilingly.
"I will keep it in your care, then!"
The two looked at each other and both burst into a peal of laughter. Their eyes were both sparkling and at that moment, they only had each other in their eyes.
Unknowingly, the fate of the two seemed to be changing.
Meanwhile, in a certain corner, a young man stood there with clenched fists, his mood very gloomy and an ominous cloud seemed to be hovering above his head.
’She can only be mine!’ he swore maliciously as his blue eyes flashed red for a second before returning to normal.
