Chapter 59: Chapter 59: FATE 3

"Can I see the ring?" Zara asked nervously, as Amir continued to hold her hands.

With how he was holding them and looking at her, Zara didn’t bother to waste her saliva and energy to ask him to let go.

He looked very determined to hold them and since it didn’t hurt to be held, she just allowed him to have his way.

Besides, as long as she satisfies him a bit, maybe everything would progress pretty well than when she isn’t cooperating.

"Sure!" he readily agreed before he reluctantly removed one of his hands away from hers.

She watched as the man acted like a child, sulking just because he had let go and also when he fished the ring from his pocket.

"Badum, badum, badum," when she saw the real thing coming out of the pocket as if it was nothing, Zara wasn’t settled.

She looked at the ring with a twinkle in her eyes as they screamed, ’My life savior is here,’ and she didn’t bother to hide her excitement from him.

Amir frowned a bit when he saw how her attention was stolen by a ring. He never went anywhere without.

He didn’t know why she wanted the ring, but whatever reason she had; it was benefiting him.

"Are you that happy to see it?" he couldn’t help but ask curiously as he handed the ring over to her.

Zara nodded her head excitedly without glancing at Amir as her eyes were focusing on the ring that made her grit her teeth as she slightly suffered on the road.

"Um. I am very happy, thank you!" she tearily thanked as she scanned the ring closely while holding it with the hand that was currently free from his hold.

Sensing her emotions, Amir was a bit shocked. He wasn’t expecting her to react that way. He could tell that the ring meant so much to her, but as to how, he knew that it wasn’t the right time to ask.

So, he let her look at the ring for a while before she raised her head, sniffing. However, the smile on her face was enough for him to be at ease. She was happy, and that was all that mattered.

However, if she were to know the conditions that come with giving her the ring, would she still be smiling? He couldn’t help but wonder.

"It’s the one that I am looking for!" she said in confirmation, smilingly before continuing, "You told me that there would be conditions if I want the ring. Now tell me, what are they?"

Zara was pretty nervous. Even her hands trembled, but he held them tightly and reassuringly as he looked at her warmly and with that familiar doting gaze, he had shown her from the moment they met earlier that day.

"Are you sure that you want to hear them?"

Zara nodded. There was no way she was going to be a coward. Judging by how he was reacting, she had an inkling that it was going to be a very crazy condition. But with how modern everything was nowadays, was it possible for her thoughts to be spot on?

She had to wait and see.

"Okay, fine. I will tell you. However, always remember that I won’t lie to you. As long as you ask, I will give you answers truthfully!" he reminded her.

He didn’t want to her to misunderstand him when he spilt the beans later.

Zara’s first instinct when she heard that was that there was indeed something fishy and maybe a crazy tradition was going to be thrown at her. After all, with her knowledge regarding the ring, the ring was a cultural asset which was several thousand years old.

How could it be given away so freely?

She had an inkling that she was going to bleed a lot. Nevertheless, whatever would be required of her as long as it’s not her measly life or her family’s, she didn’t mind giving out.

For the sake of living, she would do her best.

Seeing her so determined, Amir finally felt at ease.

So, he began to explain himself once more and this time around. He watched helplessly as she looked at him in a daze.

Was he really that bad?

"The ring is a family heirloom, always passed to the first-born child. The heir to the family and clan’s duties. My family is a bit different from others. I will first tell you about my background and slowly make my way to the conditions associated with the ring if you still want it by the time I am done."

With that, Zara listened with shock, her face changing colors the more she listened.

Amir wasn’t a Dynalis citizen. He was indeed a foreigner who came from afar.

On their planet which was called Blue Planet, there were seven continents namely, Eastern Idian where Zara lived in the country called Dynalis. The other six were Afreeka, Orkney, Avalon, Nogria, Lostrus and Thiaton.

Amir was a citizen of a country called Kairana, which was found on the continent of Lostrus. Lostrus was a continent known for its mysteries. It was one of the wondrous continents even in the history books and what was even more amazing was Kairana, the country where he grew up.

According to legends, there used to be immortals there. Though Zara didn’t believe in anything of that sort. However, there were some of the things that sort of made sense the more one listened to them.

For example, the people in Kairana were firm believers of many deities, just like many countries out there. However, the deities that the citizens of Kairana used to believe in were very powerful and they made the country to be prosperous as it is today.

A lot of information regarding several deities was lost with time, however, the few that remained still were powerful enough to continue to bless the country.

In Kairana, just like other countries in Lostrus, existed ancient families who were believed to have served the deities or contributed to the rise and fall of many empires until the world became what it is today.

These families didn’t participate much in society but lived in recluse or in seclusion. However, that didn’t mean that they just lived in the mountains and let everything be. These families were so rich that the countries mainly depended on them.

However, they didn’t blatantly show their riches but operated them low-key with their ancestral homes hidden from the prying eyes of people. Unless they want to be seen, no one would see them. That’s how secretive they were.

It was in these kinds of families all sorts of bizarre things would happen. Curses, deities and the appearance of all strange things, everything could be found there.

They were even crazy to hold century-old promises. That’s how much these people loved their traditions and history.

And it seemed that Amir happened to belong to one powerful, ancient family like that.

How could she be at ease with such information like that?
