Chapter 57: WHAT IS THIS FEAR?
Chapter 57: Chapter 57: WHAT IS THIS FEAR?
Honestly, she wanted to know why he was willing to do all this. She had seen the ring with him and something deep inside her was telling her the ring was the real one. The one she wanted to find and yet he appeared from nowhere and was offering it to her.
Why would he do so? And how does he even know that she was looking for it in the first place?
Amir had been waiting for her to ask that question, so when she did, he looked at her affectionately, meeting her gaze to the extent that she could see her reflection in his eyes and nothing else.
"If I want to tell you, are you willing to listen to me?"
Zara hurriedly nodded her head softly without putting too much pressure as that would cause her to have a headache before responding, "I am willing to listen. The ring is very important to me. So, before we talk about giving it to each other, I want to know your real intentions and don’t be vague with me!"
"That’s fair. I guess that we will be enjoying our moment here, then!" he smilingly said as he raised the bottle of water to his lips.
Zara swallowed nervously as she licked her lips watching as Amir’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he drank water in large gulps.
’How nice will it be if I touched that?’ she wondered as she looked at him with a glint she didn’t even realize.
Amir smirked as he drank upon seeing her instinctive reaction. However, he didn’t let her know that he had seen it and just continued to drink his water.
When he was done, he set the empty bottle aside before he started explaining himself to her in detail.
"I never believed in love from the time I was young. I found the emotion to be very troublesome. After all, when people are in love, they tend to do all sorts of crazy things. And that just repulsed me, being honest."
"But little did I know that I would find myself in such a pit when I first saw you. I will say that it was love at first sight for me and from the very second, I saw you, I knew with every cell in my body that you were to be my mind. And I will do anything just to have you and see you smile," Amir recalled with a smile as he looked at Zara, his gaze a bit possessive and yet Zara didn’t seem to be scared of him watching all that.
In fact, inside her mind she was going crazy already as she recalled the various types of boyfriends, she had read the other time.
Wasn’t Amir the kind who would be a possessive, doting, black-bellied and yet very reliable kind of boyfriend?
He was a man of many faces. After all, who would know that once he opened his mouth, he could speak so eloquently like that?
He didn’t seem like the kind of man who would bother with talking at all. At first glance, she even thought that he was the type of cold CEO boyfriend who would only bark orders and whatever they say should be followed, that kind of person.
And yet there he was, taking his time to explain to her even when some other explanations were enough to cause her to misunderstand him.
So, Zara liked hearing his explanations the most. As they sounded sincere to her, than all the flowery compliments people would shower her now and then.
"I looked into you and I should be sorry about that. Unfortunately, I don’t think otherwise. If I were to go back to the beginning, I would still do the same thing and look you up with every resource that I have," Amir confessed with a smile on his face as if something he was saying was that simple.
However, what he didn’t know was that, with every truth he revealed, his impression and favorability of Zara also increased as well.
When was the last time she met such an honest person?
"I knew where you were going and got hold of your number, but what I lacked was a reason to find you. As a result, I waited here patiently for the day you arrived. Lucky for him, you arrived much faster than I anticipated and you didn’t disappoint my hypothesis."
"Seeing how you risked your life to come all the way here, I had an inkling that whatever was in this small village was what was pulling you here. Only if I knew what it was, I would have helped you find it. But who knew that lady luck was smiling upon me?" a smile blossomed across his face as he continued to look at the blushing Zara without shying away.
’Indeed, who would have guessed?’ even Zara found his luck to be quite formidable.
Who would have known that the ring she was looking for wasn’t in the village itself but on a person who decided to be willful? And for the sake of seeking her, he settled in the village and waited for her.
Now thinking about it, if he hadn’t fallen for her at first sight, he wouldn’t have bothered with her and that meant that the ring wouldn’t be in the village at all. All the events seemed to be very connected and when she thought about it, she couldn’t help but shudder with fear.
The Golden Book! What exactly was it?
For the first time in her life, Zara found herself fearing the unknown and believing in fate.
As Amir continued to expose himself, Zara clutched her trousers beneath the blanket.
Why did it seem like they were puppets being controlled by other people?
Was this really her fate? Were they destined to meet? Was this the power of the red thread she had read about? What was really going on?
She couldn’t help but wonder.
