Chapter 31: I MISS YOU 2
Chapter 31: Chapter 31: I MISS YOU 2
"Don’t force yourself. You will be hurt!" he quickly dissuaded her from trying the impossible as he came to the front so that she could see him properly.
Zara pouted and sulkily looked at Quinn, who had played her for a while. She felt very wronged.
She had looked for him first and yet he pretended to have not noticed. And now she suddenly found out that he had been there always. Did he take her for a fool?
Seeing her pouting like that, Quin felt a headache coming.
Why was she using the same trick again?
After being by her side for years, understanding her actions and expression was something that he was knowledgeable about.
He had a doctorate in it. And as long as she wanted to let it be known, she didn’t bother to hide but when she wanted to be secretive about it. It was also hard to know what she wanted.
’She is upset!’ how could he not understand her?
Quinn didn’t want to see her in that state, however. He crouched on the floor so that they were at the same level.
"Princess, don’t be angry at me, okay? I am sorry, I shouldn’t have teased you like that!" he apologized as he took her small hands in his big ones.
Zara hmphed as she looked away. Her small face scrunching. However, it made her look so cute that all he wanted was to shower her with kisses and dote on her rotten.
’I won’t forgive you!’ she was determined to not give in that easily.
Emma sighed softly as she watched the siblings at it again. How many times had she witnessed the two playing this kind of game?
Zara would be angry and Quinn would be upset. And yet at the end of the day, despite who started the fight, Quinn would end up on his knees and start pleading for mercy.
Zara would ignore Quinn for less than two minutes before she started acting childishly like a baby that needed to be spoiled. After that, Quinn would shower Zara with everything that he brought and the two would be back on their talking terms once again.
So, when Emma saw Quinn getting back on his feet, she knew that the short war was over.
Zara poutingly raised her arms and Quinn, without delay, scooped Zara carefully from the wheelchair into his broad arms. After making sure that he had secured her safely, he nodded his head towards Emma before walking towards the elevator.
"Did you miss me?" Quinn asked teasingly as he walked into the villa’s elevator.
Zara smiled happily as she admired Quinn’s handsome face before replying, "Um. I missed you. And you, did you think of me even once?"
Quinn looked dotingly at Zara, very amused by her question.
"How can I not miss you? I miss you every day!" he answered her truthfully.
Every second he is away from her is like a year. He just doesn’t want to separate from her for a second, but the circumstances always force him.
If he doesn’t do anything, how could he keep her with him?
"Hehe, it’s good that you do, otherwise I will hate you!" she smugly said as she raised her small chin.
Looking at the small person in his arms, Quinn’s heart ached so much. She looked just like a child, a little girl, and yet only those who had grown up with her knew that she was an adult.
Even if he were to profess his love for her, he would only look like a pedophile.
To think that there was once a time when she was bigger than him and yet she the scales were now reversed. While he was growing, she was regressing. How could that not make him ache?
"So, where were you?" Zara curiously asked as she enjoyed his embrace.
In his embrace, she had always felt safe. Maybe it was because Quinn was the little brother and playmate she personally picked.
She also grew up with him and everything she faced; he was there by his side. He had seen all her embarrassing sides and yet there wasn’t a day where he looked at her with disgust.
There were even days he changed pampers for her. There were several times he slept with her in the same bed and nursed her all night when she was having nightmares. The many times he acted like her caretaker, the many times he got hurt because she wasn’t in a good mood.
All of those times he tolerated her, let her have her way and continued to treat her well, contributed to how she acted towards him now.
She trusted him fully and was willing to leave her life in his hands. If he had wanted to get rid of her or at least get out of her clutches, he would have done it a very long time ago.
Because of her, Quinn held enormous power in the family. Even her father and mother were no longer capable of controlling him. That’s how powerful he had become.
In his hands, Zara knew that she was nothing, actually. All the people around her listened more to him. Which was why they loved hiding the truth from her, especially when Quinn was involved.
That actually didn’t bother her that much. As long as he remained loyal to her and as long as that secret of his still holds, he wouldn’t be going anywhere.
That’s how much confidence she had in herself.
"I will tell you about it later. Let’s get you settled first!" he brushed the topic as he put all emphasis on her again.
When she heard that, she didn’t push for an answer. After all, that wouldn’t be the first time that Quinn had gone on escapades and brushed it aside without giving her a proper answer.
With an elevator, it didn’t take long before they reached the top floor where Zara’s bedroom was supposed to be.
Since the lights were on; Zara admired the landscape paintings that hung on the walls. They looked very beautiful and made her want to go outside more.
Shortly, Quinn gently kicked the door open and Zara slightly turned her head to look at the room that would be hers until she was ready to leave City G.
"It’s beautiful!" that’s all she could say when the room came into view.
