The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress
Chapter 118: BIRTHDAY BANQUET 2

Chapter 118: Chapter 118: BIRTHDAY BANQUET 2

’Isn’t this a bit too many people?’ Ashely exclaimed inwardly as she looked at the number of people her fifth mother had invited to a banquet.

Who was she trying to show off to?

However, as she pondered over a certain issue, maybe this was good as well. Let her sister debut in style. Let all the people know that she was alive and well and back in society.

Just thinking about how that little girl would shock people later, a mischievous smile appeared on her face making the taller man next to him nudge her.

"Babe, what are you scheming?" in a teasing voice, the man asked curiously.

Ashely scoffed, taken aback by his straightforwardness as she turned to look at the face, she could never get bored with.

"You .... What can I scheme on such a day? Humph, you want Dad to disown me?" harrumphing at him.

The man chuckled lightly, seeing her being defensive suddenly. Tapping her nose affectionately, ignoring the scorching gazes directed at them, he said affectionately to her, "he loves you. He wouldn’t dare to do that to you!"

"Humph. I know!" what more could she say?

If he didn’t love her, could he have let him do what he did several years ago and still acknowledge her publicly the way he did?

There were a lot of people like her in her society. In fact, she knew a few from these top rich families, but they were still in the closet, hiding their real selves. And here she was, in public, without feeling any pressure. With her family standing behind her, why should she worry about other people?

She did not repulse her parents, so why mind other people? All of this stems from her father’s love for her. With how influential he was, it would be a piece of cake to deal with her. Even if she didn’t want to admit it, Ashley knew deep down in her heart that Cade loved all his children.

Only if he was less based towards fifth, then wouldn’t everything be fine?

"Stop being sour then. Let’s go and greet Mother and help her escape from those people!" looking in the direction where Lena was surrounded by several ladies, Ashely’s boyfriend suggested.

Ashely, looking in that direction as well, saw Lena and nodded her head.

"Um, let’s go. The others will be here in a while. We still have an hour before Zara arrives. With Grandpa and Grandma with her, we have to be patient!" Ashely said in agreement before pulling his hand and the two started walking away.

Standing a short distance from where Ashely was standing was Raize and her fiancé.

Watching as that shameless illegitimate child flaunted her so well perfect man around, she felt like strangling this shameless girl. Unfortunately, that couldn’t be done. They can have as many conflicts as they want, but if anything was done to damage this day’s banquet, Raize was certain that her father would resort to crazy measures.

They can mess around, but not with Zara’s things. She was off limits and it made her envious.

"What’s wrong?" Raize’s fiancé, seeing her mood turning sour, suddenly asked worriedly.

Raize was someone who kept her emotions in check and barely exposed them. Furthermore, because she was the CEO in charge of the family’s resorts and hotels, including the one they were currently in, she always kept her expression a bit icy.

However, he could tell that she was overthinking again and with how she was glaring daggers at Ashely he couldn’t help but wonder what Ashely did to her again for Raize to look at her like that.

"It’s nothing! Just thinking about how extravagant this is."

"Hehe, how about we celebrate your birthday like this as well?"

"Umph! It’s too much. Why should I show off? Are you a child, Henry?" Raize harrumphed as she looked at the man, she had known for nearly a decade now.

Henry smiled slightly as he looked fondly at Raize, happy that her mood had brightened and she had let go of whatever was bothering her.

She was perfect in every way, except for her tendency to overthink and overwork herself. She had achieved so much that other people her age couldn’t even fathom, and yet she kept on pushing herself.

He just wanted to see her happy and relaxed and he hoped that she would let go of any grievances that she was holding.

Meanwhile, outside the hall and at the entrance of the lobby where several resort staff were busy leading the guests inside, several black sedans arrived in style.

Stopping at the front, the several staff members all rushed towards the car to serve these VIP guests. How could they say that they were such guests? It was the plate numbers which screamed at first glance when people were in the cars.

"Look, the big shots are finally arriving!"

"Hehe, the young masters are here!"

"Can you call them young masters? They are middle-aged men now!"

"Who cares?"

Alighting from the cars were the young masters and masters from the top four families. Among them was Bradley, who came with his wife and two sons.

The people with him were the current generation, which was holding onto the economy of Kuville city. From fierce competition, strong friendship, and uniting against any outsider invasion, these four families were known for their strong bond.

Which was why seeing them coming at the same time wasn’t that surprising. After all business and personal relations can be separated as well, though these four families had resorted to unite ever since a calamity fell on the city five years ago.

With their arrival, the place became livelier, and those who wanted to curry favor didn’t forget.

Bradley took his family to the hall where he looked for his third mother and father, and let his wife and kids greet them before starting mingling.

After all, before the banquet starts, wasn’t it the right moment to spread the connections?

It was what people called networking.

Who knows which diamond he would be able to pick up on such a day?
