THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY
Chapter 267: CAPTURED BEAST

Chapter 267: CAPTURED BEAST

Fay woke up to find her room empty. She looked beside her, and through the curtains on the window, noticed it was dark outside.

Struggling, she managed to push her body up. But that wasn’t enough for her.

She dropped her legs to the ground, and slowly lifted her body into a standing position.

Smiling at her victory, she pushed her legs into her slides.

One at a time, she walked until she reached the door.

She opened, and peeked outside to see an empty hallway.

Remembering Alexander had mentioned the whole floor was paid off for her, she decided to take a little stroll.

She had walked from one end of the hall to another, when she took a turn, and found the balcony.

Her smile illuminated her face, as she rested on the balcony.

From there, the only thing she could see was the hospital’s garden.

It had been a while since she saw a garden. By her design of course.

She was surprised not to feel disgust at the sight of it.

Instead, her smile brightened as she remembered how much she loved gardens.

Not even the thought of how Ace hurt her in one was enough to pull her eyes away.

In her head, that hurt birthed the child she loved with all of her heart.

"My Dream," she whispered, picturing her daughter’s face.

"Too bad she’s about to lose a parent, or maybe even two, right?"

Fay froze on hearing that very familiar voice.

Slowly, she turned around, and jerked when she saw Celine pointing a gun her way.

"How— how did you get here?" She asked in a stuttering voice.

"That’s the big question. How does Celine Atticus do anything she does? Why can’t everyone just admit I’m a genius?" She cackled.

"Leave," Fay said.

"Or what? You’ll scream? You’ve wandered out of reach of your precious bodyguards. And guess what? The owner of this hospital is a good friend of mine. Let’s just say he has promised to keep the security away," she whispered.

Fay began to vibrate, as the danger she was in hit her hard.

"Why?" She asked desperately.

"A very good question, Fay. Let’s start with the fact you had the opportunity to leave the Atticus family for good, but had the nerve to return with a child. Not just any child, but a heiress. Wasn’t it bad enough that I had to fight with my nephew for what was rightfully mine? Or that I led his precious father to his death so I could make the path easier for me?"

Fay gasped at the vivid confession. "You did what?!"

"Oh don’t pretend not to know. Yes, I had a hand in Ace’s father’s death. He took what was rightfully mine!"

"You’re so evil. How can you be so evil? All of this for Spades? You’re an Atticus. You could have even had Glam if you wanted. Why Spades?" Fay asked, still unable to wrap her head around what it was about Spades that everyone wanted.

"Legacy, darling. Down the line, no one would care about the other Atticus ventures, or the people who represented them. Spades is the legacy of Atticus, and I want that legacy to be mine!"

"Well it’s never going to be yours! Ace will pass it down to Dream, and Dream to her first child! You’re going to rot in jail as the miserable human you are!" Fay fired back, gaining some confidence.

Celine broke into a maniacal laughter.

"Let’s say I go to jail. Would it be before, or after I take your life? Because trust me Fay, you’re not leaving this hospital alive. Why don’t you tell me your last wishes? Who knows? I may find some kindness to grant them," she said.

"How about this? Go to hell!"

She pulled the trigger, and the bullet flew past Fay, missing her by just an inch.

Celine threw her head back, and cackled, as she saw the fear that passed through Fay’s eyes.

She suddenly stopped, and the hatred in her eyes returned.

"Goodbye Fay."

Fay closed her eyes, surrendering to death. She just prayed for it to come fast, and without any pain.

But suddenly, she heard a scream, and her eyes flew open.

"I told you to stay the hell away from my family!" Ace screamed, as he tackled her to the ground from behind, and snatched the gun off her hands.

"Let me go!" Celine tussled, trying to rise to her feet.

He held her down, and pointed the gun to her.

"Shut up!"

"To hell with you, Ace!" She spat on his face.

"She’s here!" Landon said, running into the scene.

In less than a five, the balcony was surrounded with Cade, and Cam.

"Get off me, you fool!" Celine roared in anger.

"Stop fighting. Give it up, Celine. You’ve been bested. How does it feel to be beaten at your own game?" He leaned into her ears and whispered.

"What did you do?" She asked in an unapologetic voice.

"Turns out the owner of this hospital absolutely hates you," he said.

A look of horror passed through her face, and when Ace saw it, he laughed.

"Get up Ace, the cops are here to take her away," Landon said.

"No! You better kill me right now. I’m not going with the cops. And if I do, I’ll escape, and make your life hell. Kill me!" She screamed, and went for the gun.

A tussle ensued, as Ace tried to keep the gun from her.

Fay began to shake all over again. "Tell him to let go," she cried to Landon.

"Ace, just get up!" Landon said. "She’s setting you up!"

"Kill me, Ace. Kill me!" Celine found the trigger of the gun.

In a split second, the gun went off.

"No!" Fay screamed, as blood splattered all over. "Ace?" She called right after.

He slowly rose to his feet, and staggered back.

Together, Landon and Fay caught him.

"She’s dead?" He whispered.

Officer Stevenson ran into the scene. He bent to access Celine, and found a pulse.

"No she’s not. Good thing she’s in the hospital," he said.

An hour later, the City had erupted in chaos again.

The headlines all pointed to Celine Atticus of the Atticus dynasty.

Ace, who had just finished answering some questions the cops had for him, entered into the car at the parking lot where Landon was waiting for him.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Landon asked.

"Do I have any other choice?" Ace replied soberly.

"I know. Alexander said Celine is going to recover. She’ll be taken to jail once she is," he said.

"We sacrificed one for the other. If Kings find out about this, which I’m sure he already has, he would be long gone from the place he’s holding my mum, and Fay’s grandfather. He’d take them with him too," Ace sighed.

"We had to save Fay first. When Alexander called to tell us what the owner of the hospital said, we had to make that decision. And it’s one we can’t regret," Landon said reasonably.

"Oh no, I don’t regret it. I’d save Fay a thousand times. I’m just afraid to lose her if she finds out I had a way of saving her grandfather, and fucked it up."

"To save her, remember? Anyway, we finally have Celine where we wanted. Leighton has taken Fay to the Atticus mansion. Let’s do what we planned anyway. Wait for the call from our guys. If they notice a change in directions, we’ll notify the officers."

"Can’t believe we’re doing the job of the cops," he hissed, and ran a hand through his hair.

"Hey, it’s almost over. I just worry for you. You’ve had to deal with more guns than the average person. Are you sure you’re okay, Ace?"

"I’m fine. And even if I’m not, I will be once this is all over and done with."

Still in the private parking lot of the hospital, Landon got a call.

He picked the phone from the dashboard, and brought it to his face.

"Irs the matriarch," he said, before answering it.

"Give the phone to Ace," she said, before he could even say hello.

His eyes widened, as he looked at Ace. "She wants to talk to you," he mouthed.

"How does she know?" He mouthed back.

"I don’t know." He shrugged.

Ace took a deep breath, before collecting the phone from Landon.

"Hello grandma," he said.

He didn’t hear anything for a few seconds, then he heard tears.

"My baby! It’s true. You’re alive. You’re really alive," she cried.

"Grandma, I can’t talk now. I just need to know if Dream is fine, and if Fay arrived already?"

"Yes to all your questions, my love. When are you coming home?" She asked.

"I won’t return without Seth, and my mother. That’s a promise."

The matriarch sniffled. "What I see in the news, is it true?" She asked.

"We’ll talk when I return. Take care of yourself, and everyone Grandma."

He ended the call, not giving her a chance to push another word in.

In the same second, the phone began to ring again.

He locked eyes with Landon, after scanning the screen.

"It’s our boys," he said.
