THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 179: A NEW BEGINNING
Chapter 179: A NEW BEGINNING
FLASHBACK
"Ace? Ace, what are you doing?" The matriarch called, going after him.
Celine was already prepared to intercept. She slid into her path, and stopped her.
"Leave him alone," she said between her teeth.
Chaos had ensued in the hall. No one was speaking in codes anymore. They all wanted to know what the heck was happening.
Fay ran, until she caught up with Ace, just before he could leave the room.
The gossip from the people in the crowd began to wane as they turned to the couple, who most didn’t even know were a couple.
"I need you to listen to me," she grabbed a hold of his shirt, ridden with desperation. "That’s not me. I don’t know what you’ve heard, but it’s not me," she cried out.
"Have you lost your mind?" He pushed her away, and she fell to the ground again.
Everyone watching, gasped at how violent he was being.
"Ace, please—" she raised her body high enough to see his face as she pleaded for him to just listen to her.
Her vision was almost blinded by tears, but she didn’t let that stop her. She didn’t let the fact that everyone was looking at her stop her. Not even the clearly doctored image of her body could stop her.
She didn’t care about any other person. The only one she wanted to listen to her was Ace; the man she just gave her body and soul to.
"You’re such a liar, Fay. A terrible liar. You had all the opportunity to gain as much as you would have gotten if you had just been honest with me from the beginning. Yet, you looked at me day and night, whilst lying in my face. What kind of monster are you?!" He thundered, as his hand folded into a fist.
"It’s not true. I didn’t betray you," she cried.
"Liar! You’re a liar and a whore. This is the last time I speak to you, or see your face. The next time, I promise, I’ll kill you with my bare hands."
"Oh God!" Someone screamed from the crowd at his declaration.
"Stop it, Ace!" Gabrielle said, finding a way to him. "That’s your wife. That’s Fay! Would she do all of these things being alleged? Just stop and think!"
"Stop defending her!" He roared, making the majority flinch behind.
"Please Gabrielle," Fay crawled, and held on to her mother-in-law’s legs. "Tell him I didn’t do it. I would never ever hurt him that way," she said, crying profusely.
"You see that? This is a woman who clearly loves you. She’s been nothing but loyal to her. The son I birthed would never treat her this way."
"Love?" He broke into a feat of laughter, holding on to his chest in the process.
"Yes, Ace. Love. Don’t you love him, Fay?"
"I do," she quickly answered.
The crowd erupted at the revelation. It was true the Atticus heir was indeed married. But from the look of what was going on, it didn’t seem like a happy marriage.
"You do?" He asked, and chuckled.
However deep down, his heart skipped a beat.
Could she be telling the truth? Could she actually love him? If she did, why did she try to snake him? It all didn’t make any lick of sense.
Celine Atticus spotted he was beginning to have second thoughts and sprung into action.
"You better don’t move," she warned the matriarch, before hurrying over to the main scene.
"You dirty liar! I have a confession from Grant where he confessed all of your crimes. Do you want me to play it?"
"What?" Ace turned to her.
"That’s right, Ace. I know you and I don’t really see eye to eye, but believe me on this, you have the devil for a wife."
"It’s not true!" Fay wailed.
"Shut it!" Celine retorted.
"She still has the guts to speak," Reign stepped forward. "You’re a whore, and there’s a lot of evidence to prove it."
"No, no I’m not. I’m no—-"
"Stop lying, Fay."
She turned her gaze, as her Aunt entered into the scene.
The guests’ eyes widened, and their ears enlarged. There was always one drama or the other at every Atticus event, but this took the cake.
Never had anything of this magnitude happened before. It was so scandalous, it had the media staff amongst the guests, wagging their tongues.
"Aunt Lynne?"
"The jig is up, Fay. Everyone knows you’re my daughter, not my niece."
"No," she shook her head, further confused. "You’re my Aunt. You’ve always told me you’re my aunty."
"Stop lying, Fay!" She burst into tears.
"That’s okay," Celine said, handing her a tissue from her pocket.
Ace had heard enough. He couldn’t continue in this room for fear of his heart bursting into flames.
"I hope you rot in hell," he said, and turned in his heels.
"Ace!" She screamed, and leaped to her feet.
She was about to dash after him, when Celine held her back.
"You lying bitch!"
She smacked her across the face, its sound sending shock waves to everyone present, whilst its force sent Fay flying to the ground.
"Celine, stop it!" Gabrielle screamed at her.
"No, you stop it!" She fired back. "You like to claim you look out for your son, well it’s time to prove it. You’re not proving anything by supporting the whore that seeks to destroy our family."
Fay, writhing in pain on the ground, held on to her cheeks.
A burning pain crept up her leg, and as she cried silently, she realised she had sprained her ankles.
"Get this bitch out of here!" Celine ordered.
"Aunt Celine, she’s in pain," Colin tried to reason with her.
"I don’t care. This must serve as a warning to the entire public. Don’t you ever think you can cross the Atticus and go Scott free. We’re not weaklings."
A few bodyguards came forward, and lifted Fay from the ground.
"No, please. I didn’t do it. Gabrielle! Please!" She cried, looking around for the matriarch as they dragged her out of the house.
"Let me go! I didn’t do anything they said I did!" She pleaded, but it all fell on deaf ears.
"Fay!" A child’s voice suddenly rang out.
"Sophie? I want to see Sophie!" Fay tried to turn her neck, but the bodyguards roughened her in place.
"Shut up, you little twat!" Celine turned to the little girl.
"I want to see Fay! What are you doing to her?!" Sophie screamed back.
"What are you doing, Gabrielle? Control your bratty children!"
The matriarch stood in shock, unable to move as she watched the guards carry Fay away.
She could see flash from phones, as they recorded everything that had taken place.
Her Fay was gone. There was nothing she could do about it.
"Ace, please!"
She heard the girl scream out, just as she disappeared out the door.
The matriarch closed her eyes. She knew those words would forever haunt her. Truly, her shame was complete.
From the other end of the room which Celine had moved to, she watched with a smirk on her face.
She had instructed the bodyguards to not leave her anywhere around the house. They were to take her to the road, and dump her there.
Turning her head, her eyes met Reigns. They conversed with their eyes, and smiled afterward.
Landon who was watching in silence saw this exchange, and vowed to expose the injustice that had just taken place. Even though it was the last thing he ever did.
PRESENT DAY
Fay Luxe blinked, as the doors of the airport opened, and she was transported out of her mind.
She stepped forward, and an umbrella instantly covered her.
The car to transport her back home stopped in front of her, and her bodyguards opened the backseat doors, before standing in position.
She swooped her hair to the side, her skin narrowly escaping a tear from her french tips.
With a condescending scowl etched on her face, and wicked red lipstick that graced her lips, she opened her mouth.
"Where’s Dream?" She asked.
Just then, the doors opened again, and an older woman holding on to a little girl stepped out.
"Mummy!" The little girl screamed, and pulled out of the older woman’s hand.
She ran to Fay, whose features relaxed long enough to pick her up, and hug her.
"Looks like I won the bet. My plane arrived first," she laughed.
"Fine. I’ll win next time, mummy."
Fay pinched her chubby cheeks, and laughed. "Sure you will. Are you ready to see grandpa?"
"Yes!" She threw a happy hand in the air.
Fay laughed, and dropped her on her feet. She turned to her nanny, and the woman reflexively stepped forward.
"Thanks for looking after my daughter. She’ll ride with me, and another car will come fetch you."
"Thanks Miss Fay," she replied, and bowed.
Fay nodded, linking her hand into her daughters. "Let’s go, baby."
Her red bottom heels scrapped the ground, as she entered into the back seat of her Ferrari, with her daughter beside her.
As the car moved, she looked through the windows.
Four years ago, she had left the country a naive girl.
Four years later, she was back with her daughter, and a thirsty need for the heads of the bastards who had almost taken her life.
Dream placed her head on her chest, as she wrapped a hand around her.
She rocked her body in sync with the movements of the car, and her eyes darkened in anticipation for the future.
