THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 180: WELCOME HOME!
Chapter 180: WELCOME HOME!
The cars rode into the Luxe mansion one after the other, and stopped in their respective parking spots.
Fay shook her daughter gently, and the little girl opened her eyes to see they had arrived.
"Are we home now, mummy?" She asked, wiping off the sleep in her eyes with the back of her little hand.
"Yes we are, my love. Do you need a second before we go in?" She asked, stroking her hair that bore a striking resemblance to hers.
"No! I want to see grandpa!" She replied toothily.
She laughed. "I already told you he’s my grandpa, and your great grandfather, but alright." She pinched her cute nose.
The backdoor was opened for them, and Dream was carefully lowered to the ground by one of the bodyguards.
Fay was next to step out of the car. As she did, an umbrella covered her again.
She looked around, and discovered that the entire staff were out to welcome her.
A little further, and she saw her grandfather. Instantly, she was transported back to that night
FLASHBACK
Fay’s badly beaten and bruised body was dumped by the side of the road.
As she laid on the ground, curled into a ball, lightning struck, and she began to shiver.
She had a sense of dejavu as the heavens opened, and heavy rain began to pour down.
Too weak to cry, or even think, she just laid there like a blank mass, waiting for a car to swerve a little wrongly and crush her to death.
She began to drift into unconsciousness, and openly welcomed it.
Little by little, her eyes closed. A few more weak breaths in, the earth became nothing.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw herself in what looked like heaven.
Only that the humans around wore medical scrubs, and were screaming all about.
She fell unconscious again, hoping that when she opened her eyes the next time, the afterlife would be a little less noisy.
A whole twenty-four hours passed, and she did open her eyes again.
As she turned her head, she saw Seth, the old man she had met at the beach, watching her keenly.
Their gaze met, and held. He was crying profusely and she didn’t know why. Until he held her hand, and whispered in a voice she would never forget.
"I found you. I finally found you."
PRESENT DAY
"My Dream!" Seth Luxe screamed, as Dream jumped into his body.
"I missed seeing your face so much, grandpa! Mum says you’re great grandpa, but I like calling you grandpa. Can I keep calling you grandpa?" The smart three year old who would be turning four soon, asked.
He laughed, and wrapped her even more lovingly in his body.
"To answer your question, my little one, the doctor asked me not to travel too often, that’s why I couldn’t go see you and your mother before your arrival. But thankfully, you’re home now. And yes baby, you can call me grandpa."
Fay watched in fascination as Seth’s eyes glowed whilst holding his great granddaughter.
A few years ago, he wanted to end his life. He didn’t think life was worth living anymore.
A few years later, and look at him now.
She smiled when he dropped Dream to the ground, and went to her.
"Fay," he called, and her smile widened.
"Hello grandpa," she replied, and hugged him.
"You still smell so divine!" He whispered as they hugged.
She chuckled at his kind words. "Thank you."
"Come," he carried Dream up, as he pulled away from Fay. "Let’s go in so you can fill me in on everything I’ve missed."
As they walked towards the inside of the mansion, the staff echoed their greetings, and welcoming salutations..
The smile on Fay’s face had been replaced with a strict frown, but she waved back at them anyway.
"Welcome home!" Seth screamed, when they entered the living room.
The entire room had been decorated in anticipation of their return.
Fay looked around, as the staff in the living room clapped.
Her pictures and that of her daughter had been arranged, creating a real sense of belonging.
This was her home now. She had her daughter, and her grandfather. She was protected, and nothing could ever hurt her anymore.
"Thank you all," she said, and even managed a genuine smile.
Dinner came, and Fay sat with her grandfather, and her daughter in the dining room.
"I wish I could take ice cream for dinner instead, but mum won’t let me," Dream said.
Seth looked at her, love filled in his eyes.
"You know for someone your age, you talk quite clearly. I’m so proud of you," he said, a shin of tears appearing in his eyes.
"Don’t be dramatic, grandpa. I just wanted Ice cream," she replied.
Fay chuckled. "Don’t be naughty, Dream," she chided right after.
"Okay mummy."
"She’s just the cutest."
Seth pulled her closer, and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"I’m so glad you’re home. Both of you," he lifted his head so he could watch Fay.
Dinner was served right after, and they ate whilst chatting away.
Shortly after dinner, Dream, who was exhausted from the trip, was taken to bed, as she had fallen asleep right on the dining chair.
Fay laid with her on her bed for a few minutes, reminiscing about finding out she was pregnant.
It had been quite the shocker. Just when Seth was preparing for her to leave the country, they found out her frequent morning sickness wasn’t just anxiety because she would be relocating for a few years to study business management.
After a few tests were run, they discovered she was pregnant.
It instantly sparkled mixed feelings in her heart. But as she stared at her daughters sleeping face now, whilst she stroked her hair, she couldn’t have been more grateful for keeping the child.
She was her joy, and her strength. There would be no Fay Luxe, without the beautiful Dream.
"Goodnight baby girl," she placed a kiss on her forehead, then gently slid out of bed.
On her way to her room, she found Seth waiting just outside her door.
"Were you waiting for me?" She asked, opening the door, and ushering him in.
"Yeah, I figured you’d want to spend a little time with Dream. But I didn’t want to sleep for the night before handing over these documents. Since I can’t convince you to rest for a week before you resume at the company, I may as well help your time there tomorrow, much easier."
She smiled, and accepted the documents. "Thank you grandpa."
"Anytime. I just wish your smile would carry as much sparkle as the Fay I used to know. You only reserve that smile for your daughter. Are you still hurting, Fay?"
"I want to take a shower," she cleared her throat, and expertly changed the topic. "It was a long flight. Kinda need to rest," she said.
He sighed. She still didn’t want to talk about Ace Atticus. She had even forbidden him from mentioning his name, and his family’s name.
To him, they were going to continue a circle of generational lies and deceit.
Notwithstanding what happened between them, he had a right to know he fathered a child with her.
If he knew and refused to act on it, only then could he agree with totally cutting ties.
"Alright. I just hope you know you can confide in me whenever you feel down. Don’t hold things in, Fay. Please talk to me."
"I’ll keep that in mind," she drew closer to him, and kissed his cheeks. "Goodnight grandpa."
"Goodnight Fay."
As soon as the door closed behind him, she let out the breath she was holding.
He was so close to mentioning that bastard’s name.
The truth was she didn’t know how she would have reacted, if he had done that, despite how much she told him she never wanted to hear it.
With a defiant determination, she tossed her past and everyone involved, in the most irrelevant part of her mind, and went in search of her briefcase.
When she found it, she carefully placed the documents in it.
Nothing mattered to her as much as her first day as president of the family’s company.
It was the reason she spent four whole years studying abroad.
Soon, she would be able to put everything she had learnt to practice.
The Luxes would be a household name again, and she couldn’t wait to be the driver of that resurrection.
Walking to the centre of the room, she stared at her reflection in the large mirror covering one half of her large dressing corner.
Slowly, she untied the strings holding the gown she was wearing, and the piece of clothing fell to the ground, revealing her naked body.
She raised her chin, and inspected every inch of her body.
All woman now, she was no longer the little Fay everyone knew before.
The world was going to hear from her soon.
And it was with that thought she turned around, and sashayed into the bathroom.
