THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY
Chapter 152: OUT OF HER MIND

Chapter 152: OUT OF HER MIND

With great trepidation, Ace looked at the screen. There were several pictures of Fay sneaking out of the house with his grandmother.

Different videos of them in different places. His heart couldn’t take whatever he was seeing anymore.

He was tossing the phone back to Reign when Fay broke into a run.

"Ace!" Makayla screamed as he followed after her, the phone falling out of his hands.

"Leave them alone!" Colin held her back.

Reign couldn’t contain her smile, because she knew this was only the beginning.

Fay didn’t exactly know where she was headed. All she knew was that she couldn’t possibly hover around these people anymore.

It was hard enough having to pretend to be in a real marriage with a man of Ace’s status, but add in a vindictive ex, and it was impossible.

She could have handled things when there was no baby in the picture. But what kind of monster would she be to continue to pretend, when Ace could just be happy with the mother of his child?

The point of all of the madness of the last four months was for Ace to get his inheritance. It required him being married for a year.

He didn’t need her for that to happen. Reign was a better replacement because she was also going to be having his child.

She kept on running, until she hit a hard surface. She recoiled, and lifted her head to see Alexander.

"Wh-at? You were ju—" she turned and saw Ace behind her.

"I followed another path to stop you," Alexander explained as she moved her gaze from Ace to him. "You can’t run away like this. Remember what happened the last time you stepped out in the rain?"

"I– I don’t care. I need to go."

"Fay, listen to me."

"Don’t you dare!" She swirled, pointing a shaky finger at Ace. "What—" fresh tears spilled out of her eyes, blocking her words from coming out.

"We need to talk. You can’t leave like this."

He took a step forward, and she took one backwards.

"No—" she shook her head vigorously. "There’s nothing to talk about. She’s carrying your child. It changes everything."

"It changes nothing if we can be honest with each other!" he screamed out in frustration.

"Ho-honesty?" She stumbled over her words. "You can’t talk about honesty. You just can’t," her voice broke.

"And what about you? What about you, Fay? Don’t you have an explanation to give me? Let’s talk about you and my grandmother."

"She’s right," she said in a heartbeat.

"What?!"

"You heard me, Ace. Whatever she said about me, she’s right. Let’s just end this now, and go our separate ways. I’m tired of crying Ace. I’m ti—" a hiccup stormed out of her throat, and its suddenness pushed her back.

Alexander quickly caught her. "Fay," he called as he tried to steady her.

She shrugged out of his hold, and continued amidst her raining tears. "It’s all my fault. I accept it. I deceived you. I was bad business for you. I’m sorry, so let’s just end this."

"No!" He thundered. "Not until you explain everything to me. You can’t just lie to me this way and expect me to believe you. Not possible!"

"Well I’m done. I’m tired Ace. Please, I’m really tired."

She dropped to the ground and began to wail. Ace took a step forward, and stopped. "You deceived me?" He asked.

"I did," she replied through tears.

"You planned to come into my life with grandmother, why?"

"Only she can answer that question."

"You don’t have any regrets after deceiving me? It’s all fun and games to you? Answer me this honestly, and I’ll let you go."

"You’re right," she lifted her head. "It was all part of the plot."

"You’re dead to me Fay."

He turned around, and walked away. Fay’s sobs surged through the sky, as she grabbed her hurting chest.

Alexander crouched to the ground, and wrapped her in his arms as she cried her eyes out.

He looked around as he comforted her. There was no one around, thankfully.

It was one of those hidden spaces she had run into in search of an escape route. No one would be able to locate it for a while either.

She could cry as much as she wanted, because God knew she needed it. He knew it too. He didn’t believe for once that she did whatever she accepted she did. However, he understood her response.

It was only so much one could take until they reached their breaking point. She had reached hers, and was tired of fighting.

"Fay, it’s okay," he held her tightly. "Everything will be fine."

"No it won’t be. It won’t–" her voice broke into tiny sobs again.

"Fay?" A tiny voice called.

Alexander felt the nudge, and pulled his hands away.

Fay turned to see Sophie. "Why are you here?" She asked in confusion.

"I followed you when you ran. I’ve been standing aside looking at you. Please don’t go Fay."

Her tiny legs ran forward, and threw her body on Fay. "Oh Sophie. I can’t do this anymore," she said, and continued crying.

She cried and cried whilst holding Sophie. She cried until she couldn’t feel her lips anymore.

"Fay," Alexander couldn’t hold it anymore, so he held her shoulders. "That’s enough."

"Don’t cry anymore Fay. Please don’t cry."

"I’m sorry for ruining your party, Sophie. I’m really sorry, but I can’t do this anymore."

Suddenly, she jumped to her feet and broke into a run.

"Fay!" Alexander called, caught between following her, and taking the little girl back to her party.

Leighton and Landon arrived at that exact moment.

"Found you!" Leighton said as she stopped in front of Alexander. "Where’s Fay?"

"Take care of Sophie. I’ll be right back."

He turned, and followed the same path Fay had taken.

Fay just wanted to leave the Atticus mansion and their lives forever. As she ran, she prayed to see the main gate so she could get out of it and be gone for good.

All thoughts of actions and consequences flew out of the window. She just wanted to survive.

She ran and ran, until she burst out into the open.

As she looked up, she saw the gate. Relief washed over her at the thought of finally escaping. But just as she resumed running, a car rolled to a stop in front of her.

Another stopped behind her, making her halt on her heels.

She turned, and saw the matriarch step out of the mansion.

"Where do you think you’re going?" She called in a loud voice.

She couldn’t respond, because she didn’t understand what was going on. The only thing she wanted was to leave. She couldn’t understand why anyone couldn’t just understand she wanted to leave.

"Fay, get in! You’re causing a scene," the matriarch called.

She began to shake her head. She couldn’t go back into the house. She had seen first hand what Ace thought of the people who betrayed him. She had seen his drawings of what he wanted to do to his aunt.

If she ever found paintings of that nature about herself, she would lose her mind even more than she already had.

"Why are you two just standing there?" The matriarch yelled at the driver’s she had told to find Fay the second she learnt of what had happened. "Bring her in!"

Fay anticipated that instruction. Easily sidestepping the burly men, she dashed towards the gate.

She didn’t care that it was a fruitless mission. Whatever it was she could do to escape, she would do it.

When she got to the gate, one of the security guys was already waiting for her.

"Leave me alone!" She screamed as he tried to catch her.

She backed up, and fell into the hands of someone else. When she turned, she saw it was Alexander.

"You heard the lady, let her go."

"You have no right to order me about. The matriarch already gave an order."

"What kind of order? To kidnap her? I may not know the law that well, but I do know there’s a felony case somewhere between the lines of that order. Let her go!"

"Fay!"

She turned and saw the matriarch had gotten to her.

Jumping in fright, she went behind Alexander, and he shielded her with his body.

The matriarch couldn’t understand what was happening. As soon as she heard what had happened, she moved to action. She thought she just needed to talk to Fay, to make her see how inconsequential Reign was to their plans.

She underestimated how much the girl had grown in her confidence. She also underestimated how much she feared Reign.

Looking at how shaken she was now, she could see she thought all hopes were lost. She understood why she would want to get out of their lives. Even if she didn’t accept it, it was a battle lost at the moment.

"Let her go," she said to everyone’s surprise.

"No!" Gabrielle jumped in from nowhere. "What are you saying? We can’t let Fay go. It’s Fay!" She said with tears in her eyes.

"Yes we can Gabby. Yes we can." Turning around, she struck her cane to the ground, and walked away.

"Fay please, you can’t—" Gabrielle was saying when the gate opened up.

"I’m sorry," Fay said, and followed Alexander as he dragged her out of the compound.
