THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 140: HOT AND HEAVY
Chapter 140: HOT AND HEAVY
"You can’t say that in public," she whispered and licked her lips. The residual moisture from the saliva on her lips made Ace swallow hard.
"If you don’t want me to say things like that, then you shouldn’t do the things you do," he said in a husky voice.
"Wh– what do I do?" Her words came out slow and distorted.
"Look so damn seductive!" He said in his mind.
He couldn’t say it out loud for fear of ruining the mood. He loved her exactly where she was. Staring at him with widened eyes whilst he felt her pulse race.
"You have ten seconds to make a decision. Those people are clearly disturbed. We can put them out of their misery by buying the building, and telling everyone to leave. Then we can be alone, and I can kiss you."
"Why would you do all of that just to kiss me?" Her lashes fluttered, as she stared at him with both confusion and amazement.
"Because I want to? There’s another option though."
"What’s that?" She asked in a slightly sharp and suspicious tone.
"You allow me to kiss you right now."
"Bu—"
"Tick-tock, Fay. There are people waiting. What is it going to be?"
"Where is the manager of this damn building? We need to sue them for everything they’re worth. No one should stop anyone from getting into an aisle. This is rubbish!" A strained angry voice reverberated round the entire store.
"Ace, they’re growing more agitated. Why can’t you wait until we’re in a more private place? It’s not fair on them."
"Nothing’s fair my dear," he straightened up, and stepped forward, closing the gap between them. "What is it going to be?"
She bit her lips again. He was being difficult on purpose. Manipulating his way into her heart again. She could decide to push him away, and run out of the store. But he could just go ahead to buy it, and inconvenience everyone.
It wasn’t a fair thing to do to people who genuinely needed to get gifts that possibly could only be found at this store.
"Why—" her voice faded into silence because she knew there was no point asking him why he desperately wanted a kiss.
He probably had a manipulative response already programmed.
She couldn’t beat him, so she decided to give in.
"Fine!" She muttered.
"I didn’t hear you," his lips curved into a wry smile.
"I said fine," she grumbled.
He chuckled as his hand went round her waist, and he pulled her into his body. "You smell so wonderful," he said, sniffing her hair.
"I thought you just wanted a kiss?"
"What are those freaks doing? I can’t believe you won’t let us in because of them!" An angry woman said.
"Ignore them," Ace said, when he felt the curiosity in her body. "Focus on me."
How could she ignore that voice of his? She thought, melting into his body.
"I’m sorry for the other night. I should have been more reasonable. You deserve better, Fay. You deserve more than I give you. Do you think you can forgive me?" He quizzed as his hand massaged the small of her back.
Her body swiftly lit up. This was the difference between him and other men. They could be as sweet as Alexander, or as attractive as Xylon Bass, but no other man made her body feel so alive. No other man made her heart race. No other man made her consider risking a public offence image because of their impulsive decisions.
"I don’t–"
"Don’t speak Fay, just feel."
He carefully caressed her head to the side, and brought his lips on her.
Like the drug she was fast becoming to him, he basked in the addiction he felt.
He hadn’t planned on things going this far. He thought he would just tease her, and quiet the tension between them. Everything had changed when someone dared to refer to another man as her husband.
For as long as he lived, no one else had the right to claim her.
He felt that conviction with every ounce of his being, and it was with that strength he kissed her now. Tasting every fragment of her lips until he felt one with her.
Her knees suddenly buckled, and only then did he pull away, but held her tightly.
She looked into his eyes, confused and in wonder . She didn’t know what it was about him that rendered her so weak.
He mirrored her expression, just as confused as she was.
The feeling was too new. It was raw, and intense.
"Bro!" He suddenly heard Landon’s voice.
"I think it’s time to leave," he said.
She nodded because she didn’t trust herself to speak. Her knees were wobbly, and it felt like if she took a step, she would drop to the ground.
"Don’t scream," he said out of the blue.
Before she could understand what he was trying to do, he carried her from ground up into her arms.
"Ace?" She gasped.
It was only when she was in his arms she realised while the kiss was going on, her purse had fallen to the ground.
"I don’t think you can walk," he quickly explained as he turned around, and discovered Landon had slid through. "Good you’re here. Her purse is on the floor. Please tell me you’ve cleared the way. Don’t need the press in my business."
"It’s all clear," he said.
As he picked the purse, Ace carried Fay bridal style towards the exit of the store.
She held back her words, waiting to be away from the store before she asked what was on her mind. The big question about leaving without getting anything they had gone to get in the first place.
Ace looked around as the burly men parted ways. True to his words, the complainers were nowhere to be found. Whatever he did, he deserved a sweet reward."
"Oh no! Despite the kiss, they still threw the shoppers out," Fay thought when she couldn’t see a trace of anyone around.
She wondered what she had kissed him for then.
"Because you like him? You have feelings for him, and it’s time you stop denying the truth," her intrusive thoughts popped up.
"There we go. I was wondering what the hold up was," she thought.
She was still conversing with her thoughts when a door opened, and she felt her body being dropped.
Looking up, she found Ace staring at her. He swiped the strand of hair that had fallen to her face, and tucked it behind her ear. "Better," he said.
She was tongue tied once more. There was no escaping Ace Atticus. It was time she began to accept that fact.
"Wait here, and I’ll go get the gifts."
"Wait!" She touched his hand as he turned to leave.
He whipped his head behind, and smirked. "Are you sure you want to pull me back like that? Be careful what you ask for, Fay."
Her eyes widened when it dawned on her what he was talking about. Snatching her hand away, she rested it on her lap, and cleared her throat.
"Where did everyone go?" She asked, burying her face to the ground.
He chuckled. "I think that’s a question only Landon can answer. But don’t fret. I don’t think he did anything outlandish."
"We just—" she lowered her voice, grateful he couldn’t see the flush that had consumed her face. "We just kissed in the middle of a store aisle. I think that is outlandish enough."
"Do you want us to send a handwritten apology note to everyone affected?"
"You would do that?" She lifted her head hopefully.
He chuckled. "You’re really so pure. What do you want from the store?"
"If you had let me, I would have picked out something myself."
"I don’t want to stress you, my dear."
"I wasn’t complaining," she grumbled.
He smiled. "I think I know exactly what you would get her."
"I doubt." She scoffed.
"Do you want to make a bet?" He rested one hand on the top of the car, and stretched out his pinkie.
Once more, she was taken aback. This side of Ace was such a beautiful surprise. She remembered just thinking he reserved his other side for everyone else but her. It was as if he had read her thoughts, and decided to be free.
"Fine." She shrugged, and pushed out her pinkie.
"If I win, I get whatever I want from you," he said.
"And if I win, you’ll do whatever I ask you to do."
"Fair."
They locked in their fingers, and Ace wore a cocky smile.
Pulling away, he waved behind his shoulders as he walked to the store.
Landon, who had been standing there all along, impressed by how Ace had just navigated the situation with Fay especially after the Xylon Bass discovery, stretched her purse to her.
"You’re going to lose that bet, by the way," he said.
"Really?" Her face collapsed. "But why?"
"I can’t tell you because of my loyalty to him. But, I can only tell you that much because I think you’re amazing." He gave her a big smile, then turned around, and followed Ace’s trail.
Confused by everything happening, she relaxed into her seat, unsure of what to do with herself now.
