Chapter 119: A Brewing Storm (2)

After taking note of what Lily had written, his heart instantly began to speed up because his mind had imagined the worst scenarios that could take place considering Jeremy as a whole. Even at that, Cassian didn’t want to believe this had something to do with Jeremy until he made it to the mansion, and the red-haired stranger told him to check all the rooms in the mansion, and that his wife was inside one of them.

In all his life, Cassian couldn’t remember the last time someone’s disappearance affected him the way Madeline’s disappearance did. There was a strong urge inside of him that continuously pulled him into finding out where her whereabouts might be, and discovering that she was somewhere in the same mansion only increased his worry and need to find her.

With Orson’s help, he was able to get through each and everyone’s room until he made it to Jeremy’s room. He had specifically informed everyone to keep quiet and not make a fuss as he searched the house with Orson, and strangely, everyone in the family, including the servants were all downstairs except for Jeremy.

When the son of a bitch finally made the biggest mistake by opening the door for him, Cassian made haste and instantly knocked him out of the way so he could step in to search the room as well.

After sighting his wife on the bed, the relief that overwhelmed his face disappeared after taking notice of the awful state she was in. On the bed, Madeline remained weak and almost stripped naked as she barely moved from her position. Cassian couldn’t explain what exactly had snapped inside of him, but before he knew it, he reached for Jeremy’s collar, already feeling it tear against his strong grip as he made him look at him in the eyes.

"What did you do to my wife?!! How dare you touch her!" Enraged to the brim, he didn’t wait to hear Jeremy’s fake side of the story as he landed several punches on Jeremy’s face. He had the intention of killing Jeremy right there on the floor, his fist already getting stained with blood as he didn’t pause for even a second, and he certainly wouldn’t have stopped if he didn’t hear Madeline’s whimper, and that interrupted him as he looked up to see her struggling to move again.

"Maddie." Releasing Jeremy who was already coughing out blood and bleeding through his nose, he headed for Madeline who was still struggling to speak through the clothing that had been tied to her mouth.

Immediately, Cassian freed her mouth from the cloth that had been restricting her screams, and she looked at him with her face all red from having to endure the torture Jeremy had put her through.

"Cas...I...I... I can’t move." Was the first and most heartbreaking words that left her mouth. Her voice was shakened from having to remember that she couldn’t move, and it tore through Cassian to see her like this. Quickly taking off his coat, Cassian wrapped her body with it before taking his hands under thighs and lifting the woman into his arms.

Madeline felt cold as she shivered against him, and just having to recall what happened already sent her bursting into tears as she had never been so happy to see Cassian, who had once again saved her from a predicament that would have ruined her completely.

"C...Cas.."

"Don’t speak, I’m here now." His voice instantly sounded warm when he looked at Madeline. Her eyes were already starting to drop to a close and he just wanted to hold her close so she could feel his presence wasn’t a dream to her. "I’m here now."

Sensing his distraction, Jeremy, who planned on escaping before Cassian eventually kills him, immediately got to his feet and raced out of his room to get away, but his actions ended up backfiring as he received another incoming punch that sent him falling to the ground with a painful groan leaving his lips. Orson flexed his arm, feeling a little pained on the wrist since he ended up punching Jeremy a lot harder than he planned to.

"You are in a lot of trouble." He glared down at the bleeding Jeremy with disgust, and Cassian took Madeline out of the room in a hurry. He could feel her body trembling under his hold as her fingers gripped his shirt, and he knew he had to get her to a physician.... And fast.

What the hell did Jeremy do to his wife???

Going down the stairs, several shocking gasps could be heard from everyone as they looked up the stairs. Isabella’s face had turned white as her hands flew to her mouth to eradicate the scream that would have escaped her. Inna, whose expression had turned aghast from the sight, immediately hurried to her brother who had made it down the stairs.

"Brother?? What in heaven’s name happened to her??" The worries that were laced to her tone could not be matched with what Cassian felt inside of him. Frederick and Adeline had rushed forward as well to see if they could offer a helping hand, but Cassian had never felt so confused in his life as he had the unconscious Madeline in his arms.

"She says she can’t move...I don’t know how to explain it just get the physician here before something happens!"

"Right away!" Frederick, who was at the verge of having a heart attack, had to control himself as he went to get the family’s physician to come check on Madeline.

"My goodness!" Isabella still found it difficult to recover from the shock after seeing the state Madeline was in. She wouldn’t believe it was the same lady that had followed her down to the bonnet estate, and that left her curious as to how Madeline even ended up in the mansion before she became this way.

"She’ll be alright." Came a cool deep voice that immediately gained the attention of everyone. At the entrance of the mansion, the red-haired vampire stood there, and without seeking permission, he stepped into the house, heading towards Cassian who still had his wife firmly secured in his arms.

Stunned, a quick gasp escaped Inna’s lips at his unexpected presence, and she watched with widened eyes as he made his way towards her brother, barely looking in her direction.

Stopping in front of them and peering down at her face, the red-haired vampire studied her extremely pale face for a few seconds before his expression mysteriously frowned at her.

"She inhaled a massive dose, yet she’s still alive?" The red-haired vampire muttered under his breath, sounding amused before looking up to Cassian. "Do this, change her outfit, get her into something more comfortable and let her rest. She’ll be fine after the physician checks on her."

"We’re not staying here." He said to the red-haired vampire before shifting his attention to Adeline. "If Frederick returns with the physician, tell him to wait for me. I’ll be back."

"But where are you going?" Inna moved forward to stop her brother from leaving the mansion. "We need to take care of Madeline, so where are you taking her to in this condition?"

"Somewhere safe." He answered firmly. "I want to burn this damn house to the ground, and if I don’t leave, I’m afraid the whole Albrecht family will go extinct." Came his dark response before he walked past Inna who didn’t dare to stop him after hearing what he had in mind to do.

"I’m coming with you." Inna immediately went after him. Uneven murmurings and concerned whisper’s could be heard from the servants as they peeped to see what had happened. From the top of the stairs, Orson had handcuffed Jeremy and was forcefully taking him down the stairs.

"Jeremy?!" Isabella’s eyes widened in disbelief when the culprit was finally brought before them. "You....you did that to her??"

Without letting him speak, Orson forced Jeremy out of the mansion with the red-haired vampire trailing behind him.
