Chapter 118: A Brewing Storm (1)
"Are you sure you’re willing to do anything I ask?" The red-haired stranger felt kind-hearted enough to make him realize what he was up against, and Cassian didn’t hesitate to nod as the only thing he could think about was finding his innocent wife, and most importantly... finding her alive and well.
"Yes." He responded firmly, the finality in his tone made the red-haired vampire beam, and he confidently stuck his hands in his trouser pocket. "Alright, we have a deal, but from what I see, this wouldn’t want to be something I’ll end up missing, so how about I show you instead? Let me take you to your wife."
"You know where she is?" Orson, who had kept quiet all through their deal-making, finally joined in to avoid feeling left out. The red-haired vampire glanced at him briefly, and an irritable scoff left his lips when he sensed the blood running through the human’s veins. From his expression, Cassian could tell he had a certain dislike for humans, and Orson was clearly not exempted.
At this point, Cassian wasn’t bothered about anyone’s hostility, but if it turns out that this stranger is deliberately playing games with him in the end, he might as well be prepared to have all his bones broken cause he clearly wasn’t going to spare him for it.
At once, Lily showed up at the graveyard, stealing the attention from the vampire as Cassian looked in her direction, obviously surprised to see her since he never summoned her here. She hurried towards where he stood with quick steps, and before Cassian could ask what she was doing here, she started to gesticulate with her hands, and when Cassian was at the close point of grabbing the meaning to her gestures, the red-haired vampire came to stand before Lily, suddenly blocking their path and obstructing both their views.
Stunned by his presence, Lily’s gaze followed his movement until he bowed a little to meet her ear, and he uttered in a low threatening whisper.
"Don’t say a word to him, it won’t be funny for you if you ruin my chances and spoil the deal I just made, so be a good little ghost and shush." His tone was unusually calm, but it was enough to scare the little ghost who no longer tried to prove her point to the confused Cassian as she dejectedly retreated back.
"What is seriously going on? Do you know where she is or do you intend to waste my time and annoy me with your constant repartee?" Growing impatient and tired of standing here like a fool, Cassian raised his voice a little at the red-haired vampire who finally looked at him.
Orson remained silent since he couldn’t risk getting into a conversation with two hot-headed vampires. It was just bizarre that he was finally meeting a vampire who wasn’t Cassian, and his aura, without a doubt, matched perfectly with that of Cassian’s.
They were both frighteningly intimidating.
Without responding to Cassian, the red-haired vampire casually turned to leave. "You either follow me or lose your wife. We’ve wasted enough time as it is and getting angry with me won’t bring her any quicker."
Stepping out of the graveyard and onto the sidewalk, he asked a very strange question. "Can you run?"
"Run?" Cassian’s brows creased in bewilderment, looking all at sea as he couldn’t contemplate the meaning behind the ’run’ the strange vampire was talking about.
"You have so much to learn, " He heard him sigh before watching those green eyes turn into a bloody red. "Meet me at your family’s mansion." Saying this, he was out of sight, and the only thing Cassian felt was the swiftness of the wind that overwhelmed him, and he didn’t want to believe that the same stranger just ran past him with such unbelievable speed.
"Did you see that?" Pulling Orson closer so he could look in the direction where the stranger had taken, Orson was also rendered speechless, but Cassian was the first to snap out of his daze when the idea of Madeline came to mind.
"The mansion, he said the mansion."
"Madeline must have returned?" Inquired Orson as he couldn’t understand why the vampire would mention the mansion. Isn’t that where they came out from?
"I’m really hoping for that to be the case." Crossing to the other side of the road, Cassian and Orson got into the carriage after informing Amadeus to take them back to the mansion. Amadeus was just as curious, but knowing he couldn’t question the young lord when he was in a critical mood, he remained quiet and just listened.
Before the carriage began its journey back to the mansion, Cassian peered out through the window to find Lily still standing there, and before he could avert his gaze from her, he noticed something on the earthly path where she stood.
If his eyes weren’t deceiving him, he was sure he read it as.... "Find... Jeremy?"
~~~
An hour ago....
On the bed, Madeline constantly struggled to push her weak body into a sitting position. With her knuckles turning white from having to grab hold of the bedsheet too tight, Madeline tried to stop the flow of tears that escaped her eyes as she struggled to push herself up with all her might.
"Please..." She begged her body in a croaked whisper, pleading with it to help her move as she once again surrendered to the pain and fell back on the bed. Her chest heaved up and down as she struggled to breathe, and with beads of sweat rolling down her forehead, she bit against the piece of clothing that had gagged her mouth as she pushed herself up into a sitting position.
When she was finally moving, Jeremy had already recovered and immediately pinned her hands back onto the bed, startling the living daylights out of her. Madeline’s eyes widened when she stared into his piercing eyes that made her shiver in fright. From his expression, he has had enough of the silly games and was more than ready to kill her if she doesn’t cooperate with him.
"I can’t explain how you did that silly trick by hitting me with a vase, but you can’t outstand the effect of the substance I made you inhale. After everything, you’re still here, and I have you trapped just the way I wanted."
Madeline’s screams were muffled against the clothing that covered her mouth. He had already loosened her dress and the only thing left for him was to pull it off her and finally get the chance to feast on her milky soft curves.
Unable to hold his own hunger for her, he began to unbutton his shirt, and when he figured it was a total waste of time, he left it and tried to molest the panicked woman on his bed. Getting on top of her, his lips found its way to the nape of her neck, kissing her roughly while Madeline struggled beneath him to free herself.
She couldn’t scream out loud and no matter how hard she struggled, Jeremy had the upper hand since he was stronger than her. Feeling his lips taste her skin and moving down to her exposed cleavages, Madeline could feel a sense of disgust and hatred for her own body as he continued to taste her skin like she was some commodity that got thrown in his doorstep, and when he was at the point of freeing her from the dress completely, a calm knock on the door suddenly interrupted him.
"Shit! Who is it now?" Pulling back in obvious irritation, he looked at Madeline who’s eyes had reddened from too much crying, he smirked at her helpless reaction as she seemed to have given up struggling.
If Catherine could see this right now...
"You..."
The knock on the door interrupted him once again, and his fist balled at who would dare to disturb him in his blissful moment. Knowing fully well that if he ignored it, suspicions may arise, he was left with no choice but to stand up and answer it.
"Shhhh..." he placed a finger to his lips, warning Madeline to keep quiet while he checked on who was at the door. From her reaction, she looked weaker and barely made any attempts to scream out, and that assured him that he could answer who was at the door and come back to enjoy the lovely woman on his bed.
Assuming it had to be Abbot since they had a lot to talk about, he opened the door with only his head sticking out, but what he didn’t expect was to be violently pushed aside, and since he wasn’t prepared for it, it threw him off balance and that led to him falling to the ground with a slight groan leaving his lips.
Someone stepped into the room, and before he could react, the intruder grabbed his collar, almost tearing it...He heard the slight rasp of the material ripping, and when he looked up, he was staring into a pair of Amber-brown eyes that burned with maddening fury.
"What did you do to my wife?!!"
