Chapter 116: The Search (1)

~~~
Madeline awoke with a gasp as her eyes snapped open. She was staring at the ceiling with her breathing coming off short. Trying to stabilize the rapid beating of her heart, she closed her eyes and took several deep breaths before opening her eyes once more to study the unfamiliar room she was in.
The thick curtains were closed, encompassing the room with a shadowy darkness that made her panic within. If her memories aren’t deceiving her, she was supposed to be taking a walk with Isabella, but then she stole a quick look at the mysterious graveyard, and when she planned on leaving, someone covered her nose with a handkerchief, and she blacked out after that.
Remembering this, Madeline immediately realized the gravity of her situation as every other thought washed away from her unsettling heart.
"Where...where am I?" In her attempt to sit up on the bed, to Madeline’s horror, she realized she couldn’t move a muscle. Dumbfounded by her own lack of movements, Madeline continued to try and move her hands, but she could only curl her fingers into fist and that was it.
Panic surged through her body as she struggled to rise, the restraints biting into her flesh as she tried to free herself. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized nobody was coming to help her, and there was no other presence in the room except for hers.
"Why can’t I move?" Feeling alarmed, she tried to scream for help, but her voice was nothing more than a hoarse croak as her throat had dried up like the shell on a sand. It was difficult to speak, and her throat would ache if she made any attempt to scream out.
It was a helpless situation that left her in a daze of confusion.
Turning her head to her left, she took notice of the desk and table that remained at the other end of the room. Beside the bed were side tables and in front of her was a dressing table. An exquisite wardrobe stood at the left side of the room, and If her eyes were seeing right, this was someone’s bedroom.
’But who’s room is this? And why am I here? Why can’t I move?’ many unanswered questions flooded her mind, followed by a severe headache that made her wince at the intruding pain.
She was alone in this cold, shadowy room, unable to free herself from the invisible confines that held her to the bed. But who could have abducted her from the graveyard?? As much as she tries to think of the cloaked beings being responsible for her predicament, Madeline doubts if they ever got their hands on her, they certainly won’t keep her in a place like this, talk more of letting her live.
Closing her eyes to gather her strength, Madeline pulled against her restraint with all her might, her muscles straining and aching from all the effort, and to her surprise she finally moved, but ended up falling off the bed with a short cry leaving her lips.
"Ow!! My back!" Her expression was scrunched into a look of pain as she tried to recover from the hard fall. Thankfully, she didn’t hurt her head in the process of falling.
Remaining on the ground, Madeline felt a wave of despair wash over her as she realized she was completely helpless. Her eyes spinned in their sockets, and her blurry gaze was fixed on the door that was just a few distance from where she had fallen.
She had used too much of her strength that she had begun to sweat in her endeavor to keep moving.
"Nnngh!!" Pushing through the pain, she gritted her teeth as she struggled to push her body forward, heading for the door that didn’t appear to be locked. Using her hands, she battled with her own body to function as she crawled to the door, silently praying to reach it and see someone who can help her get up to her own feet.
Feeling a sense of progress as she kept making it to the door, she suddenly stopped moving when the door itself opened, to her startlement, and her face turned ghastly pale at the familiar figure that stepped into the room, closing the door behind him and locking it from the inside.
She could feel a sense of dread take over her body as she remained where she was. Her eyes displaying the disbelief she felt when the figure crouched in front of her, a devious smile displaying on his lips as his hands reached to move the strands of hair that fell at her face to the back of her ear.
"Now I understand why I couldn’t refuse, I’ve always believed you were a pretty woman, but with your hair down like this.... you couldn’t be prettier." Taking a stand of her hair in his hand, he took a whiff of her soft hair, inhaling the sweet scent of her shampoo, and Madeline gasped as she tried to retreat from her abductor, but unfortunately, she had drained her energy and could barely move.
"W...why can’t I move?" She stammered, looking her abductor straight in the eyes, but her abductor proceeded to lift her in his arms, as though she weighed nothing but a feather in his arms.
"What are you doing?? Drop me." Madeline knew there was no use struggling, instead she tried to talk it out with him, but her abductor placed her back on the bed, and Madeline shuddered at the way his gaze was intensely fixed on not just her face, but every curve of her body as though he could see her body outline through her clothes.
It was completely different from the way Cassian would stare at her. She could see visible lust in his piercing eyes, and that made her swallow the fear that wanted to take over her. Already having a mental note on what he planned on doing to her, Madeline prayed it wasn’t what she was thinking.
"L..let me go." She tried to sound confident, but her abductor only chuckled darkly before leaning close. He placed his hand at the top of the headboard, leaning close enough that Madeline had to look the other way to avoid making their lips meet.
"Do you know what I plan on doing to you??" Her abductor threw the question at her, and Madeline’s gaze snapped at him. He took a strand of her hair into his palm, fondling it and inhaling the sweet scent like someone who would inhale drugs he was addicted to.
"Cassian can’t enjoy this all to himself now, he should learn to share."
"You..!!.."
"Don’t curse." He smiled, gaining satisfaction from the fear and worry that filled her teary ears. "Should I tell you what I intend to do to you? I can see you’re curious so I’ll tell you." He let go off her strands of hair and took his seat beside the bedside.
"For starters I am going to figure out what you taste like." He told her. "Cassian has eyes for good things. You have done everything you could to gain my attention, and look where it led, you’re on my bed."
He revealed, and Madeline’s eyes widened as she took notice of her surroundings once more. As though he read the question in her mind, her abductor leaned back on his chair, his legs crossed.
"You’re surprised I kidnapped and brought you back to the mansion right?" He tsked. "Well, I would have swept it under the rug but I wanted to see your reaction regarding the fact that I brought you to the mansion. The good part of it is, no one will suspect you’re here.... you’re..."
"Someone help me!!" To her abductor’s bafflement, he heard her scream. "Frederick! Adeline!! Cassian!! Help me!!"
"You little slut!" Her abductor found a piece of cloth and immediately sealed her mouth with it, tying it firmly so she wouldn’t be able to scream out anymore.
"I forgot you’re smart." Already aggravated by her screams, he grabbed her cheeks, making her look into his eyes that silently threatened her.
"No one will come for you, your loving husband has already stepped out to go find you." He let out a deep sigh. "You need to see the anger in his eyes. I wonder how he would feel if he ended up catching his beautiful wife, in bed, completely naked with me."
Jeremy grinned maliciously, and all the colors on Madeline’s face drained at his evil intentions for kidnapping her, and he nodded his head.
"Yes, Maddie, I’m going to ruin your marriage and defame you as a slut to the world. An insincere woman who couldn’t keep to her husband."
He tilted his head at her. "Let’s see if your husband still values you after this. The search has already begun."
