Chapter 188: Argument
An infinite mana stone, also known as mana stone on heavenly realms is a very valuable thing. They are found in old places such as ruins, old water fountains and inside hidden island treasuries made by Ashter.
A mana stone is also considered a type of money that has the value of 10 million heavenly coins. So getting one in one’s hand can make life easy for so many years. Also, a mana stone is used for creating weapons that kill gods and demigods. It’s also used for making high-class healing potions for gods.
That’s why, Kobayashi was speechless to hear that he can make mana stones which should be impossible for anyone but the great gods. So Viktor, making infinite mana stones was out of the ordinary.
Kobayashi asked, "You’re kidding me, right?"
"I’m not kidding. But the thing is, you have an odd chance of attacking me for my mana stone now." Viktor grinned and looked deep into his eyes. He again said, "I know how to clear the tower in just 40 years. I know how to complete the whole dungeons if I follow the future well. I even know that nobody will take your quest and you will lose your territory if you kill me just for my mana stones."
Kobayashi became confused. He asked, What do you mean that I wanted to kill you? I don’t even believe that you can make one. And how do you even know your future that clearly? You’re on only stage 2 divine Qi. "
"That might be true but you’re forgetting something. I’m the demigod of all living records. Seeing the future is my speciality. And please let go of my collar. I don’t want Adonis to fight with you because he’s just a newbie flower here."
Kobayashi looked behind in a rush and saw a pair of bright orange eyes giving off a grave stare at his back. If Viktor didn’t mention him, Kobayashi would never have sensed his presence. He was surprised that he, a great god, couldn’t sense the presence of a demigod.
He then let go of Viktor’s collar and said, "It must be the handsome Adonis that Viktor talked about. Mind if you stepped outside the bush so I can see your face?"
"I don’t mind it as long as my master is unnamed." Adonis then walked out of the brush and stood in front of him. The three of them were standing on a branch of a massive tree in a row.
Kobayashi was taken aback by his beauty. He then scratched his head for a moment and said, "Okay, I surrender."
Adonis then asked, "I don’t know what you’re talking about but I need to speak to my master now. Matser, are you okay? Why are you with a great god?"
Viktor smiled and said, "So you can sense if he’s powerful or not huh? He’s a great god from the noble territories. He’s here to give us a quest and happens to bully me because he thinks that I can’t make a mana stone."
"Master, why did you even tell him that you can make one-_-?"
"Ah-_-. It slipped through my lips and I can’t erase his memories because I’m not that powerful enough to open his record. Hehe."
Adonis then shook his head in frustration and said, "I’m sorry for my master’s foolishness. Please excuse us, I will be taking him with me."
Adonis then grabbed Viktor’s back collar and picked him up like a stray kitten. At that moment, Kobayashi said, "Wait!! I don’t want to make you guys my enemy. I’m desperately asking for help from him. I was just angry that he was talking shit about how he can make mana stones. But that aside, he just accepted my quest so I have to accompany him now. From what he told me, I guess he can use an exceptional future predicting skill. I’m in need of that desperately."
Adonis partly closed his eyes and said, "But you just grabbed his collar a few minutes ago and were screaming at him. What are you going to say about that? Are you assuming that my master is telling lies?"
"What? No. I’m just..wait, that means he can really make one?" Kobayashi looked at Viktor who was sitting behind Adonis’s long legs and looked at him with puppy eyes.
"What are you doing-_-?" Kobayashi asked.
"Your chances of killing me just incensed now. I am never going to clear this quest even if you have 0.Infinity chance of killing me."
Viktor then looked away and chuckled in secret. He knew what his future holds so he was trying to make sure that Kobayashi would never betray him. Since he was a great god, his one flick of a finger was enough to kill him.
So Viktor had to play the weak in front of the strongest one. Because there was no way besides that to avoid Lucifer’s evil plans. He needed strong support to keep his life safe and run a business in the world of gods without any problem.
Kobayashi then said, "Look kid, why would I kill someone if he’s my saviour? And didn’t I promise to be your spouse if you survive the tournament ?"
Viktor nodded his head.
"Then why aren’t you trusting me?"
"Because you still have the chance of killing me for my mana stone. Listen, Kobayashi. If you keep me and my companions safe, I can save your territory and also give you 30 mana stones for free which is enough to remake or replace your territory from here. So what do you think? Do you like this deal?"
Kobayashi was surprised. He again said, "In exchange for your life safety? For how long? And from who? Are you in danger?"
"Kobayashi, you might not know this, but the great heaven itself is in great danger."
"What? What do you mean?"
Viktor stood up and then said, "I can’t tell you the details because the possibility is less than infinite. But my luck is so bad that the oddest event will come at my running to mess up my sleep. That’s why I want to make a deal with you before entering the tower. Until the tournament, make sure to keep us safe. After that, I can take care of things myself."
Kobayashi wasn’t sure what was going on but he could tell that Viktor was telling the truth. There was no problem in agreeing with what he said so he again rubbed his whole face in frustration.
He then said, "Beggars can’t be choosers. Well then, Let’s call eachother friends then." He looked at Adonis and offered him a handshake. Adonis grinned and took his hands.
"I am accepting you just because of my master’s wish."
Viktor was happy that everything turned out well so he clapped his hands for once and said, "Well then!! Let’s have a feast now! I’m so hungry! Adonis, what did you cook for dinner? I want to eat some ice cream after dinner."
The three of them went to the camp after making things out and took a seat in front of the table. At that moment when Viktor was about to take his seat, he couldn’t find his. There were only three chairs.
Hika then approached them. She then said, "I’ve prepared the table for three. Viktor, please step back from the table. Servants don’t need food at night."
Viktor kept the smile on his face and held back his anger. He then looked back and said, "Hika, do you know what you’ve done?"
"What? You have some guts to talk back to me, filthy low-blood immortal!"
Kobayashi then approached in front of her face in a blink and said, "Looks like you got some death wish, Hika. The black merchant who hides in my forest without permission."
Hika was shocked to see the great god of the small forest in front of her. But it was upside down. Her whole view of the world was upside down.
She was beheaded by Kobayashi for her rude behaviour towards Viktor, his great saviour.
Viktor then smiled and said, "Don’t hold any grudge against me. I can’t kill because death is a gift to me. If I ever see you in this realm, I will make sure to send you to hell by messing up with your record."
Viktor then looked at Adonis and said, "Sorry, my customer wasn’t happy with your fake servant. Are you sad that he killed your test subset? I will make sure to get you a new one."
Adonis shook his head and said, "No, master. I don’t mind at all. Please, you don’t have to look for any new subjects. I have plenty in my dimension room."
"Oh, come to think of it, how are your clones doing?"
"I put them to deep sleep for a century. I’m not experimenting with anything for the time being."
"I see, Adonis is on his break."
"Yes, master."
Viktor then looked at the dead body of Hika and said, "It’s not even collectable. Look how quickly it’s disappearing."
Kobayashi then said, "Gods and demigods are made of light and energy. That’s why they turn to dust and disappear when they die."
’That’s why I don’t want to die-_-. Death is scary-_-.’
