Chapter 154: Busted
She stiffened, her hands going cold, and falling at their sides, when he embraced her.
She inhaled sharply, "That is not a problem," she whispered.
"This should begin, there should be no more time wasted," Dora chipped in, crossing her arms, her eyes squinting.
"We should. The sooner, the better," he disengaged from the hug, a small smile on his face.
She nodded, "Okay then. So will you come with me right now?"
"I will," he grinned.
She turned to Archi, bent down, spreading her arms for a hug, "come here son," she mumbled softly.
He ran into her bosom, "Do come another time when you have the time mother," his lips turned downwards.
She nodded, "I promise."
The rest of them watched them for a while.
"Okay then, I have to go," she kissed his cheeks, "I love you my child," her eyes teared up.
His lips turned downwards in a petulant sulk, his eyes watering as well, "I love you too," he wrapped his small arms around her neck, "I wish you did not have to leave."
"Me too," she muttered.
They stayed in each other’s embrace before finally disengaging.
"Bye mother," he waved.
"I will see you some other time my son," she cooed, and stood up.
"Let us go," she said firmly.
He went to the door, and opened it, "after you."
She rolled her eyes, and walked out the front door, Oberon behind her.
"Bye bye!"
"Bye!"

"This place is quite dark, do you not think so?" Nyx asked, darting her eyes, so she could be very alert.
"It is not as if you can not see where you are going huh?" Oberon teased.
She stamped her feet, "ugh! You do not have to be so blunt!"
"Someone will hear you puppypaws."
She stopped in her tracks, "puppypaws? Who? Me?"
He shook his head, trying so hard not to snicker, "someone might actually hear you, calm down."
"Why would you even call me that?! I am not some kind of--" her words trailed off as he covered her mouth, gripped her hand, and took her to a corner, pinning her against the wall.
"He-"
"Shhh!"
She widened her eyes, but kept quiet.
"Someone is coming this way," he whispered.
She felt his hot breath fan her face, and she gulped. As of now, she didn’t want anything that would distract her. She wanted to concentrate.
"Okay," she dropped her gaze.
They heard the low, dangerous steps coming their way.
"Oh dear, no one can see us now," she bit her lips in a surpressed groan.
"Keep calm," he whispered, his lips a few inches from hers.
She nodded, her head still dizzy from all that contact they were making.
"Who is there?" They heard a voice, probably the one who had walked towards their direction a few seconds ago.
"Show yourself! Whoever you are!"
Oberon furrowed his brows, there was every possibility he would come their way, and everything would get ruined.
"You better show yourself now, or it will bad for you when I find you myself!" He growled menacingly.
The Lycan sprang. He was disappointed to see that there was no one there.
"Hm, I thought I had heard something?" He furrowed his brows, looking around.
He curled his lips, his right fist shaking in disappointment.
"Maybe I am just hearing things," his shoulders drooped, and walked out of that place.
"Is he gone?" Nyx asked, hugging Oberon tightly.
Oberon had to crouch himself in a tight corner so the Lycan would not see him.
"Are you okay?" He asked her softly.
She nodded, "Yes, I am fine, just a little uncomfortable," she groaned.
Nyx disengaged from the hug, and moved backwards a little so she could create a space for them.
"Ugh! Now where have we entered?"
"The tunnel in the wall I guess," he looked around.
"Huh?"
"I built the tunnel Incase of security reasons. It is in the wall, and we were walking beside the wall. Did you forget?"
She exhaled, "Oh, how do we get out?"
He held her hand, "Follow my lead," he responded.
"Where did you hide Ace’s body?"
"In the throne room."
"Hm, even we had to follow this tunnel, it would lead us to the back of the palace, towards the duegon ."
"So?"
"Hm, it is nothing," he shook his head.
She stared at him, surprised, and speechless, "What is wrong?" She asked when she finally found her voice.
"Nothing," he replied.
She sighed, today was probably going to be tough.
"Let us go. We have to plan everything out right. I have to make sure, I distract the guards enough so we could make it in time before they realised what is going on," he exhaled, his brow furrowed in cold sweat.
"Oh, okay then. What do we distract them with?"
"Leave that to me," he snickered. He held her hand, leading her out of the tunnel.
"This place sure is rough," she cried when her knee got scratched against the rough walls of the poorly built tunnel.
"Oh sorry, it was buiit in a hurry."
She groaned, "But why?"
"I will explain that later. The goal in mind, is to confuse those wolves. A step away from getting my throne back."
She nodded, "I forgot about that. Hehe."
He shook his head, "Whatever, let us go."
Soon, they were out of the tunnel, "Phew!" Nyx breathed a sigh of relief.
There were no guards in sight, which meant they had not started their patrol yet.
"Hm, they must still be in the palace, probably having their usual supper."
She raised her brows in surprise, "At this time?"
He shrugged, "who knows how crazy these Lycans are? Hm, we do have an opportunity though."
They walked across the field to get to the back of the palace, which would lead to the duegons.
"We are almost there!" She grinned, her eyes already beaming with joy.
That got to the back door. Oberon slightly pushed it open. He breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed it was not locked.
"Good thing I had made it a usual thing back then," he muttered.
He helped Nyx enter the hallway. Together, they made their way to the duegons, from there, they intended to sneak to the throne room.
"This was easier than I thought," Nyx muttered, feeling a bit pleased.
"Wait!" Oberon held her hand, and drew her back.
She gasped, "Huh?"
"They found his body already."
Nyx raised her head, just a few meters away from them, the guards formed a circle around Ace’s dead body.
