Noah POV

My eyes strayed to her chest again and it seemed to me like her nipple had enlarged in the last few seconds. I’ve not been intimate with Selene for a while now and it was affecting me.

Forcing my gaze from her chest, I opened my mouth, then closed it, nodding my head slowly "We have guests in the pack. They came in last night. So that could be the reason,".

"Hmm..." her eyes narrowed thoughtfully as she stared at me. I was trying to ignore the way her legs peeked from her body and how she used to wrap them around me when we were together. I should leave here as soon as I can. Something was not right.

"You know," she broke the silence forcing my gaze back to her face. "I saw Selene cradling Kurtis yesterday in one of the rooms at the guest side of the pack house. I had gone in search of Princess Jade to check up on her and keep her company and had passed by. I know it’s not in my place to ask but is everything alright with you and her?"

Alarm bells went off in my head at the information. Wasn’t I just thinking and analyzing what relationship could exist between the duo and then this? Wasn’t it a sigh that something could be going on between them?"

"W- What are you talking about? Everything alright with me and Selene?" I repeated glaring at her.

"Yes," she nodded innocently and then bent down to scratch at her knee before straightening not before I saw the soft spill of her breast from the playsuit. "I noticed that these days, she seemed to be hanging out with Alpha Kurtis more. I saw them, I think two days ago in the garden and their gestures seemed intimate. Even her ex-husband can be excused since they’re both co-parenting. But from the way she had Kurtis cradled in her arms, one would think something might be going on between them,".

The lust vanished from my mind and was now replaced by anger. Despite trying not to take her words to her because this might be a ploy, the scene she was painting was slowly crawling into my skin and if I didn’t do something about it, it’d mess up my head. "What exactly did you see? I swear to God, Brooke... if this is an attempt to make me have problems with my wife, I will have you punished. So, think carefully before you respond,".

Brooke’s eyes shimmered with tears as she shrugged one bare shoulder in a sultry motion. "Has it gotten to the point where you think I’ll lie to you? There’s nothing to lie to you about, honestly. I won’t gain anything from doing it," she sighed and then continued "I didn’t see much because I was going to meet the princess but I saw Selene holding Kurtis close, her face inches away from him looking very... intimate,".

The frown on my face deepened, and I was uneasy. Like, the kind of feeling you get when you think something is not right and that wasn’t what I should be feeling. My wife was in a sultry position with another man and I seemed to be taking it so well. This was so unlike me. Could it be because I didn’t think Kurtis could betray me that way?

Before I could respond, Brooke pressed on, coming to stand in front of me so, her face was a hairsbreadth from me. Her fingertip trailed lightly down the center of my chest, causing me to inhale sharply.

"You know... I really miss you, Noah. I miss us. We used to be the best couple ever and I wish more than anything that I had not given up on us like that. I could have been more understanding and fight but I was foolish and for that, I’m truly sorry. I swear. Do you think maybe we could give it one more chance?"

I scoffed and pushed her hand away from my chest "You must be stupid to think that I would want us to revive what we had. Have you forgotten what you told me the day you left me for your wannabe lover? You said you cannot be with me because we didn’t fit. Besides, I’ve told you several times Brooke and I’ll say it again. I am happily married and I love my wife so much. Sorry, I won’t be cheating on her,".

A tear rolled down her eyes as she stared at me. Rio whimpered within me trying to speak up, but I shut him off before he could say a word. He was the reason why I was acting erratically.

"Why don’t you want to forgive that part of me? I was confused and it was nothing short than youthful exuberance. But every day I regret it. Anyways this would be the last time I mention it again, Noah. Aside from that, you know you owe me. I lost a baby because...".

"For Moon’s sake Brooke!" I stopped her midsentence "I told you I never want to hear you talk about that,".

"Fine! Sorry!" she rolled her eyes. "The things that, there’s so much connection between us and no matter how much we try not to have a relationship, we must still deal with each other. Also, back then, you promised that whatever I wanted that you would give it to me. So, I want to cash in on that favor right now,".

"Fine!" I exhaled "What do you want?"

"Well..." she paused and came closer to me, her breath fanning warmly against the base of my throat. "Make me Selene’s Beta and before you argue and give me an outright No! hear me out first. First, I know you don’t want to believe me but I think there’s so much going on with your wife. I’ve seen her sneaking out of the pack house several times so consider this as me trying to keep an eye on her for you. I will report back everything she does,".

"No!" I shook my head "I can’t do that to Selene. I..." I trailed off "Trust her," I ventured. "She’s a grown woman and my mate. Also, the Luna of this Pack. I wouldn’t want to do that to her,".

"Ah, Noah!" Brooke chuckled "You’re still the same lover boy from before. Listen dear, people do not really change and I want you to understand this. Selene probably left her ex because who wouldn’t want to marry a Lycan? Besides, that was how much you trusted me until you found out I was cheating. I promise, I’ll be discreet and no one would know about it,".

"No!" I shooke my head vehemently "If there’s nothing else to talk about then...".

"Oh! I didn’t think you’d have company," Conrad suddenly walked up to us ending the conversation I was having with Brooke automatically. His eyes scanned the length of her body as he whistled. "This has got to be the hottest woman I’ve seen since I arrived Moon Whisper asides your wife of course," he added with a smirk as he stared at me.

Anger surged through me, but I clamped down on it. Turning to Brooke "You should leave now. Let’s talk later," I tell her.

She nodded and left leaving just me and Conrad. When I was sure that we were alone, I turned to him.

"To what do I owe this visit? And this is the last time you approach without taking prior permission. I’ve told you several times that not everyone can have access to me whenever they like. Especially you without no titles no position except that of your brothers’. I won’t tell you this next time,".

"Okay!" he nodded, a smile still in place "I’ll remember it next time but before you breathe down my neck, I really want to appreciate you for changing your mind and all. I just finished visiting the kings and they’re well rested. All placed in good quarters and is that a feast you’re hosting for them? Because each breakfast seems like that. I’m truly glad you’re doing all of this for us,".

"Make no mistake about it, Conrad. It’s for the sake of my Luna and your late brother. Else, I really do not see you as much and it’s best you try not to get on my nerves while you’re here. I am not a very patient man,".

"Fair enough!" he nodded "I do not like you too, Noah. I think you’re too uptight and are you really going to keep foiling my plans? Because I just need you to mind your business for once and then we won’t have problems. But... But...I promise, you won’t see me bothering you again. By the way, I’ve fixed the meeting for later tonight and thought to tell you,".

Immediately, Jared’s words rang in my head ’He would try to take advantage of the energy from the Dark Moon. Spells and hypnotism are at their peak during this time. It’s one of his strongest powers. So, for no reason should you agree to a meeting during the nighttime’

"No!" I said coldly pulling myself to my full height "I decide when it’s best to hold meetings and when it’s not. Return back to your quarters and await further instructions. Until then, be on your best behavior or else, I’ll be forced to kick you out!"

Exasperation flashed through his eyes as he stared at me "Your majesty, please. I have a lot to do at home and I am sure these Kings have quite a lot on their plates too. So, the earlier we get this meeting done... the better for us!"

"If you will not agree to my terms, you have an hour to leave my Pack. Else that, shut the fuck up and leave now! I wish to be alone!".
