Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Just Get Up Early and Everything Will Be Fine
On second thought, having a girlfriend stay over at your place seems pretty normal.
But the idea of a girl staying at a man’s home doesn’t sound too good, does it? If word gets out, is there any saving my reputation?
Qin Guanglin was a little conflicted, unsure whether he should persuade her to go back. He hesitated several times but deep down, he still wanted her to stay.
Oh right, when he and He Fang go back to her place, they would definitely stay at her house... Thinking about it this way, he felt relieved. They were both planning on getting married, so what’s there to fear from staying one night?
He Fang lay quietly for a while, then spoke, "If your mom and the rest aren’t asleep by ten, you can go out and tell them the school dormitory doors are closed, and I need to stay for the night."
"Uh... What if they’re already asleep?"
"If they’re asleep, there’s no need to say anything."
"..."
Qin Guanglin thought about it carefully and found the excuse excellent. The dormitory was closed, she had nowhere to go, and she didn’t have her ID. It wouldn’t make sense to leave her to sleep on the streets, so she would stay and sleep in his bedroom, while he’d sleep on the sofa in the living room.
Logical and persuasive.
"My girlfriend is too smart," Qin Guanglin said with delight, kissing her.
The two were becoming closer and closer. How wonderful.
"I’ve always been smarter than you."
He Fang turned over and sat up, twisting a little to move to the edge of the bed. She took off her shoes to reveal her small feet and rubbed them. She was still not recovered from the fatigue of climbing the hills the previous days, her whole body sore and aching, "I’m so tired, I need to lie down for a while."
Qin Guanglin moved closer and lay behind her, reaching out to envelop her waist, "Should I help you pound and press a bit more?"
She hesitated, glancing at the bedroom door. She had instinctively wanted to take a shower for a comfortable rest, but now remembered that it would be awkward to go out for a shower so early.
"No need, I’ll just rest," He Fang decisively climbed further into bed and lay down, putting off the shower. After all, it’s not like his bed had any particular requirements; not showering and just climbing in was fine.
Qin Guanglin cared even less, kicking off his shoes and then climbing back to hold her, naturally placing his hand gently on her lower abdomen.
He Fang closed her eyes, breathing out gently before speaking, "If your mom saw you doing this, she would definitely hit you."
The lower abdomen isn’t a particularly sensitive area for most, but it’s very important. Whether moving up or down from there, the meaning changes, but this spot is just right. Being touched here by someone you like easily brings a sense of security and warmth, giving the comforting feeling of being cherished.
"She won’t see," Qin Guanglin knew Qin’s Mom wouldn’t simply barge in and wasn’t worried at all.
But then he remembered that aunt was also around and suddenly felt less certain. He hesitated before getting up to lock the door, then feeling reassured, he lay back down, "Now no one can get in."
"Hiding in the room to fool around, you have no shame," He Fang said with a light smile on her face.
When outside, she would definitely stop him, but in his own house, there was no need. She could safely be intimate with him, since family members were outside and there was no need to worry about him doing anything inappropriate.
This familiar feeling really was very comforting.
Qin Guanglin was silent, since she was merely speaking rhetorically and showed no sign of resistance; instead, she leaned back to make them even closer.
Embracing the person he liked in the familiar environment, he unwittingly grew sleepy. He Fang, half asleep and half awake, felt that the person behind her had stopped moving. She mustered some energy, turned her head to look, and saw that the man had fallen asleep with his eyes closed.
"Wake up, you can’t sleep here." She nudged Qin Guanglin with her shoulder, "You should go out now."
"Oh..." Qin Guanglin opened his eyes groggily, lifted his arm to check the time, and saw it was already eleven. Suddenly wide-awake, he got up, "I don’t know if they are asleep yet, I’ll go check."
If they hadn’t seen He Fang going out before they slept, who knows what misunderstandings could arise in the morning.
He opened the bedroom door, and the living room was dark, with both aunt and Qin’s Mom already back in their own rooms. Qin Guanglin sighed inwardly, knowing he could only explain in the morning.
"I’m going to take a shower, find me something to wear," He Fang also got up from the bed, preparing to take a shower.
"What do you want to wear?" he asked as he turned around to open the wardrobe.
"Just grab any T-shirt. Your clothes are all big on me anyway."
He Fang glanced into the wardrobe and pointed, "Get that blue one."
"Here."
Qin Guanglin handed her the clothes, "Um... use my towel, the white one there."
"Got it." He Fang shuffled out of the bedroom in her slippers and into the bathroom, and soon the sound of the showerhead pouring water rang out.
Lying back on the bed, Qin Guanglin also felt a surreal sense of unreality.
She was staying over at his place?
He hoped Qin’s Mom wouldn’t get startled when she saw her in the morning.
It was getting late, so He Fang didn’t wash her hair; she just quickly rinsed off and came out holding her clothes, her hair wrapped in a towel to prevent it from getting wet, revealing her long, slender neck. The oversized T-shirt covered her only until... well, you can imagine the rest.
"You go ahead," He Fang said as she emerged with a mist of moisture, casually tossing her discarded clothes aside and climbing into bed to cover herself with the duvet, "Help me turn off the light and close the door, thanks."
"Kiss me first, then I’ll go." Qin Guanglin couldn’t resist moving closer as he saw her rosy cheeks and planted a kiss before retrieving his pajamas from the wardrobe and turning off the light and door for her.
The bedroom fell into darkness, lit only by specks of light filtering through the curtains. He Fang lay with her eyes wide open in the dark, staring at the ceiling and listening for noise from the living room. After hearing the bathroom door, she couldn’t help but smile, rolling around in bed under the covers.
Finally, she could sleep well.
She was enveloped by the feeling of home.
After his shower, Qin Guanglin lay on the couch with no trace of sleepiness, staring at the door to his own bedroom and feeling a strange sensation in his heart.
He wondered if the person inside had fallen asleep.
Suddenly, the door creaked open and Qin’s Mom, holding a glass, turned on the living room light and walked to the kitchen to pour water from the warm kettle.
"Mom."
"Who?!" Qin’s Mom jumped in fright, then turned her head and saw Qin Guanglin sitting up from the sofa, "You scoundrel, why aren’t you sleeping at this late hour?!"
"Uh..."
Qin Guanglin gathered his words and slowly began, "The thing is... He Fang’s dormitory was locked, she had nowhere to go, so..." he gestured toward his room, "I’m sleeping on the couch tonight."
"Huh?" Qin’s Mom paused, glanced at Qin Guanglin’s bedroom door, then back at him, lowering her voice, "He Fang is in your room?"
"Yeah, spending the night here," Qin Guanglin explained, "Otherwise she had nowhere to go, and she couldn’t possibly stay at a hotel, especially since she didn’t bring her ID."
"Oh."
Qin’s Mom realized it was no big deal, drank the water, and planned to return to her room, "Just be careful not to catch a cold."
"Yeah, no worries."
Qin Guanglin breathed a sigh of relief, glad to have cleared up any misunderstandings.
Qin’s Mom turned off the living room light, and darkness set in again until the door creaked once more, this time it was the bedroom door.
Qin Guanglin thought He Fang was coming out to use the restroom, but instead, she walked towards him with her little white legs and in a low voice, asked, "Are you asleep?"
Qin Guanglin tensed up, in the living room on the sofa, and you’re coming over in the middle of the night?
He couldn’t pretend to be asleep and likewise spoke softly, "No, I’m awake. What’s up?"
"I can’t seem to fall asleep." He Fang leaned over to look at him, her eyes gleaming in the dark, "Why don’t you come in?"
The scent of body wash filled Qin Guanglin’s nose, tempting him before he regained his composure, whispering, "Isn’t that inappropriate?"
"It’s fine," He Fang picked up the thin blanket on him, "Get up early in the morning, and then you can come back out."
