Chapter 91: Chapter 91: A Cup of Soy Milk, Two Fried Dough Sticks

The darkest hour is just before the dawn, and as time progressed, the eastern sky gradually showed its belly white, bringing more light into the room. The air conditioner hummed as it blew cool air, which had been set to a comfortable temperature before bed but now felt somewhat cold.

"Ding-ling bang-jee ka..."

The jarring alarm rang out, and Qin Guanglin had not even opened his eyes before his hand swiftly reached out to turn it off, only then did he feel a heavy weight upon him.

He Fang clung to him like an octopus, as if holding onto a large pillow. Startled by the alarm but still not awake, she merely furrowed her brow and hummed unhappily twice, rubbing her leg against him and tightening her embrace.

"..."

Qin Guanglin stared at the ceiling, bewildered for a moment, before remembering that He Fang was sleeping in his room.

He grabbed his phone to check the time; it was past five in the morning. Qin’s Mom would be going out for her morning walk around six, so it was time to move to the sofa to sleep.

He turned his head and kissed He Fang on the mouth, then carefully slid her arm off his chest amidst her discontented humming as he tried to get up, only to find her leg still wrapped around him.

Last time he hadn’t realized her sleeping posture was so restless...

Qin Guanglin let out a helpless sigh, gently pushing her leg with extremely slow movements, trying to sneak away without waking her. Otherwise, if Qin’s Mom noticed he wasn’t in the living room when she left, it would spell disaster.

But Qin Guanglin had underestimated He Fang’s persistence in her sleep; just as he had half-freed himself, she wound around him once more, with an unhappy grumble, adjusting to a comfortable position and once again hugging him tightly.

"..."

Qin Guanglin froze on the bed, not daring to move anymore, staring at the ceiling with wide eyes, struggling to calm down.

This situation was a bit much to handle.

As time ticked away, he’d be too late if he didn’t leave soon. With no other choice, Qin Guanglin gently pushed her while trying to extract himself, "Wake up; I need to go out."

He Fang smacked her lips, frowning after just having relaxed her brows, and mumbled unclearly, "Sleep a bit more..."

"Can’t sleep anymore," Qin Guanglin shook her more forcefully, "Let go, I need to leave."

"Annoying,"

He Fang, shaken by him and feeling irritable, made a feeble push at the air and turned over to continue sleeping.

Qin Guanglin finally escaped, breathed a sigh of relief, got out of bed to properly cover her with the blanket, kissed her forehead, then tiptoed to open the door and slipped back to the sofa to continue his nap.

A bit of regret lingered; if they weren’t at home, he could have slept until naturally waking up and held her a bit longer afterward.

Teacher He’s clinginess was quite cute...

The nap was unsuccessful; just as he was starting to feel sleepy again, Qin’s Mom opened her bedroom door, the sound of her slippers clattering away Qin Guanglin’s hard-earned drowsiness.

"You’re up so early?" Qin’s Mom asked, oblivious to the fact she had disturbed his sleep.

"Yeah, pretty early," Qin Guanglin replied, resigned.

"Must not be comfortable sleeping on the sofa, right?"

"...Yeah."

"Hehe," Qin’s Mom chuckled with a hint of schadenfreude, "If you can’t sleep, join me for a walk. It’ll help you feel more alert for work."

Walking out in the morning, breathing some fresh air, and stretching her legs was her secret to maintaining good health and energy throughout the day.

"I’m not going, you go ahead," Qin Guanglin lay on the sofa, not moving, and closed his eyes, "I’ll sleep a bit more."

"The more you sleep, the sleepier you get," Qin’s Mom advised him while changing her shoes by the door, "Better to come out and walk with me, and have some breakfast on the way."

"Breakfast?"

Qin Guanglin opened his eyes at that, thought for a moment, and said, "Wait for me to change, I’ll come with you."

"Hm?" Qin’s Mom paused surprised by his agreement, "You hungry or something?"

"No, just felt like going for a walk," Qin Guanglin said as he picked up two clean pieces of clothing from the balcony and headed to the bathroom to change.

Qin’s Mom glanced at his bedroom door, suddenly realizing, the boy also wanted to buy breakfast for He Fang.

Tsk...

After changing his clothes, Qin Guanglin left the house with Qin’s Mom and sat down at a breakfast shop to eat. He then packed up two fried dough sticks and a cup of soy milk, ready to head back.

Qin’s Mom was off to dance in the park, and he really couldn’t be bothered to follow.

"Grab two more buns to take home," Qin’s Mom held him back from leaving.

"Can’t eat them..."

"Your aunt hasn’t eaten yet."

"..."

Qin Guanglin’s expression turned to one of distaste, "I forgot about her. Anyway, she hasn’t gotten up, so let’s just skip that meal."

"Take them with you, two buns aren’t worth much," insisted Qin’s Mom, kindly. She might not be pleased, but she wouldn’t let others pick faults.

"Fine, fine, I’m going back now," Qin Guanglin said, hooking the breakfast with his finger and walking back home.

The morning sun didn’t have much warmth, but his heart was warm. The person he loved was lying asleep at his house, and when they awoke, they could eat the breakfast he had bought.

Just the thought made him happy.

After placing the buns on the living room table, Qin Guanglin carried the soy milk and fried dough sticks into his bedroom. He Fang was still lying in bed, sleeping in the same position as when he had left.

He set down the breakfast and sat by the bed for a while, checking the time: it wasn’t even seven o’clock. He quickly took off his shoes and slipped into the covers, thinking he’d lie down for a bit longer.

He Fang woke to Qin Guanglin’s movements, turned over, and wrapped her arms around him, rubbing her eyes against his shoulder while still keeping them closed, "Where did you go?"

"I bought breakfast, do you want it now?"

"No, I want to keep sleeping."

"Alright, then sleep."

Qin Guanglin stroked her back with his hand and closed his eyes, ready to snooze a bit longer.

Since Qin’s Mom had seen him on the sofa when she woke up and they had gone out for breakfast together, even if she found out he had come into the bedroom afterward, it would only be after she had gotten up, which wasn’t an issue.

Being in the warm bed was much more comfortable than the sofa. Holding her in his arms, Qin Guanglin started to get restless and quietly slid his hand inside to stroke her back, sighing contentedly.

This was much better than through clothes; her smooth, warm skin was hard to let go of once touched.

Half-asleep, He Fang felt his movements but didn’t bother to pay attention; it was just a back rub, after all.

After lying there for another half an hour, she stretched and opened her eyes, "What time do you have to be at work?"

"I can leave at 8:30," Qin Guanglin checked the time, "You can keep sleeping. I’m going to work and you can just stay here."

"You got me breakfast?" He Fang looked up at him.

"It’s right there, do you want it now?"

"Oh my," she lowered her head and rubbed vigorously against Qin Guanglin’s chest, "Classmate Qin is so good to me."

"..."

Listening to her exaggerated tone, Qin Guanglin didn’t know how to respond.

"Kiss me," He Fang said with her eyes closed, tilting her head up.

"We haven’t brushed our teeth yet."

"Are you disgusted by me?"

"No, it’s just that I haven’t brushed..."

"Kiss or not?"

"..."

At that point, he couldn’t refuse any longer.
