Chapter 986: Chapter 986: Do You Believe in Reincarnation?
Indeed, her hand was burning hot, at least forty degrees Celsius, no wonder she had become like this. How could a person withstand such a fever?
"An Hao, get better soon, I’ve come back... I came back specifically to see you."
When An Hao heard Qin Jian’s voice, she slowly opened her eyes and saw his handsome face appear before her. Her eyes flickered with joy, and a happy smile spread across her face: "It’s a surprise... and unexpected..."
"Why are you so feverish, burning up like this?" Qin Jian looked at her with concern.
"It’s nothing, maybe I’ve been too busy lately. There’s a lot of pressure on my mind, and I caught a chill a few days ago. Internal heat and external coldness, it suddenly flared up, so the fever came on." This wasn’t just to comfort Qin Jian, she was indeed stressed out over her thesis.
"I’m back. Whatever it is, let me deal with it for you. Just focus on recovering these next few days." Qin Jian caressed her cheek, "I’ll always be by your side to keep you company."
"Mm." An Hao’s lips curled into a faint smile, and she closed her eyes and fell asleep again.
In her dream, there was a fog, and she staggered along, unable to see clearly in any direction, only feeling the wind coming from all sides.
She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, the mist had dissipated.
An Hao looked down and found her feet standing on the rooftop of the twelfth floor.
This rooftop seemed so familiar?
Why did it feel inexplicably familiar?
She carefully searched her memory but couldn’t recall what place it was or why it felt so familiar.
She stretched her head out to look down, and after seeing the cold concrete below, she suddenly remembered this was the place where she had jumped from in her previous life!
Good heavens!
How come she was standing in this spot again?
An Hao felt her legs weaken and a cold sweat break out on her back.
Qin Jian held An Hao’s hand and watched over her, noticing she wasn’t sleeping peacefully. It seemed she was dreaming, her brows furrowed in pain.
But, thankfully, her palms began to sweat, and droplets of sweat were gradually forming on her forehead...
Her body temperature was slowly beginning to drop.
"An Hao... An Hao..." Qin Jian softly called her a few times in her ear, and An Hao’s brow gradually relaxed.
In the dream, she heard Qin Jian’s voice.
She looked around but saw no one.
Just as she was about to go back, the scene suddenly changed. There was not just her standing at the edge of the rooftop anymore; it seemed another face had appeared.
An Hao only knew it was a woman.
"Choose me, or choose her!" the woman’s voice echoed in the air, sounding somewhat familiar.
Before An Hao could react, a pair of hands suddenly reached out from nowhere and pushed her...
"Ah~" An Hao screamed, suddenly sitting upright, her entire body drenched in sweat.
The fever had broken.
"What’s wrong? Another nightmare?" Qin Jian went to the bathroom to wring out a hot towel and handed it to An Hao, "Here, wipe your face."
An Hao nodded, feeling much more alert.
"You were like this the last time in the Northwest too. And now again!" Qin Jian embraced An Hao in his arms, "Can you tell me what you dreamed about? Every time you wake up sweating from your dreams."
"Do you believe in reincarnation?" An Hao leaned her head against his chest and asked Qin Jian an unrelated question.
"Of course I don’t. I’m a soldier! I’m an atheist! You’re a soldier too! And you’re even more so an educated soldier, how could you believe in such nonsense?" Qin Jian stroked An Hao’s hair, critiquing her idealistic thinking.
