Chapter 1150: Chapter 1150 Acting as the Escort for the Ladies

"Huh? How come you know so much about my family affairs?" An Hao wondered if Yan Ye had told him.

"Your mother-in-law called the department, and by chance, I answered. She was worried you’d be anxious, so she asked me to tell you to wait a little longer, he said that Yan Ye will bring you home with him today," Ji Chuan clarified for her.

"When did Mr. Yan’s surgery finish?" An Hao asked.

"It had already finished, but the emergency department just sent another one, who knows when this will end," Ji Chuan stared at An Hao and asked, "So, are you coming with me or not?"

"Then please, Director Ji," An Hao readily took the umbrella, watching him rush into the rain to push the bike over, pulling a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe down the wet seat and the rear rack.

"Hop on," Ji Chuan called out to An Hao, "Hold on tight! I ride quite fast."

An Hao laughed and agreed, she sat securely on the bike frame, one hand holding the umbrella, the other hanging by her side.

Ji Chuan waited for An Hao’s arm to wrap around his waist, but when he saw no movement after a long while,

he turned his head and seeing An Hao in that position, he said, "You won’t be secure like that, you could easily fall off. You’re not concerned about that whole ’men and women must not touch’ thing, are you?"

An Hao shook her head looking at Ji Chuan, "I don’t mind at all! I’m married and have a family, even if rumors spread, it won’t affect me much. Because I’m married! But for you, it’s different. You might struggle to find someone and even get labeled with an ugly tag, hooking up with a married woman!"

"Hahaha!" Ji Chuan laughed heartily, "I’ve always done things my own way for many years, I couldn’t care less about those silly rumors."

"That’s good then," An Hao said as her arm wrapped around Ji Chuan’s waist, "Let’s go! But please, consider that I’m pregnant, slow and steady, okay?"

"Still don’t trust people!"

"You’re the one who said you ride fiercely, just making me a bit cautious," she replied.

The two joked together, holding the umbrella amidst the heavy rain, as Ruan Fangfang’s previously buoyant heart suddenly sank to the depths.

"An Hao, damn you, your uncle, your ancestors! Even though you’re married and pregnant, you’re still hooking up with Director Ji!" Ruan Fangfang was so angry she stamped her foot.

Why is she always around!

She’s literally my nemesis! My bane!

On the road,

Ji Chuan and An Hao kept joking with each other, maintaining a cheerful atmosphere.

Once out of the operating room, Ji Chuan wasn’t the unfeeling, almost harsh teacher anymore; he had a freer spirit and was more childlike than Yan Ye.

Talking to him, An Hao felt absolutely no pressure.

Midway, they came to a fork in the road.

An Hao directed him to turn left.

Turning left would quickly bring them to the military base where An Hao was stationed, while turning right would require traveling through half of the city to return to their residential military compound.

First, it was too far. Secondly, she felt it inappropriate to trouble Ji Chuan to take her all the way home.

After all, after a whole day of surgeries, Ji Chuan must be exhausted.

About five minutes later, they arrived at Qin Jian’s base.

"Just drop me here," An Hao said, "My husband is inside! I’ll wait for him to go home together."

Ji Chuan nodded, "It seems you’re a lucky woman! Your family revolves around you. From the hospital to here, it’s only a ten-minute ride. You really made your mother-in-law anxious!"

"Yes, I’m very fortunate," An Hao smiled, "to have found such good people."
