Chapter 198: Chapter 33 Deep Sea Demigod, Interesting Trade_2
Adrian took a breath, "Even the demigod sea monsters must have seen it. No matter how powerful they are, they also fear so many Undead people!"
"Even if they aren’t afraid, they have descendants to think about!"
Hill nodded with a smile, "That’s also quite good. It saves me from not being able to buy nice things."
"I heard that you got some good stuff from that only Legendary sea monster a while ago?"
"Deep Sea Ice Lilies," Hill said contentedly, "and a lot of shells from space-type sea monsters."
"That’s great, make a few more Alchemy Houses, make them look gorgeous," Adrian said. "The Undead Tribe must all want to buy them. His Majesty the King has just opened up the lands to the south of Cortez."
"Do they need them to defend against demons?" Hill asked curiously. "Does this mean they’re acknowledging that Noah can’t hold on?"
In Noah to the south of Cortez, they couldn’t be that weak, could they?
"No, the suspicion is that Noah won’t leave anyone to defend their northern border at all," Adrian sighed. "After all, our king, being lawful neutral with a lean towards good, would not launch an unprovoked attack on a nation that hasn’t offended him."
"That’s true, there probably aren’t any nobles left with blood ties to the Cortez Royal Family in Noah," Hill said mockingly.
The first King of Cortez, that was truly a result of making a stand against Noah, and offending some Great Noble.
Hill remembered a story related to this. It was said in Cortez that a Sky Knight, lusted after by a Great Noble, fought his way out with his loved ones and subordinates in a rage for his betrothed.
On Noah’s side, however, the tale went that the Sky Knight eloped with a Duke’s mistress and fled the country.
Yet, the books in the Mage Association, more or less, hinted that Cortez’s story was the true one.
Though Noah’s version sounded nice, as soon as that King of Cortez became Legendary, that Duke gradually vanished from high society and has now lost his lineage.
But these affairs had nothing to do with William.
As long as the throne of the God of Time and Space shone brightly in the center of the sky, Noah would not be afraid.
A newly born deity would at least maintain their chosen Faction for a few thousand years before changing. Adrian couldn’t be bothered to continue talking about that nation; after all, if Noah could do it, they didn’t care about being ridiculed by others.
"I won’t ask how you preserved the Ice Lilies," Adrian changed the subject, "after all in this regard, our Magic Tower might not compare to your List."
Because no one lived there, Hill could only laugh bitterly at using the Magic Tower in various strange places.
"I came here because Miller’s Legend helped a Legendary sea turtle deliver a gift to you," Adrian said. "I’ve placed it on your desk. Does he want to continue trading with you?"
"How could that be? Bex and I have a Sound Transmission Conch," Hill said, puzzled. "I’ll go check it out, don’t know what he’s up to."
Adrian followed Hill into the study, "Your domain, if not inhabited regularly, is quite nurturing even for a few occasional days."
Had Adrian felt the rich natural aura? Hill thought helplessly, there was no helping it, although it wasn’t leaking out, this valley had received a trace of feedback from the world’s Natural Consciousness.
Hill’s farm had to buy new livestock. Not to mention the plants, the transplanted Magical Plant, Lily of the Valley, had set seeds and with the gentle breeze blowing, its seeds had spread far and wide.
Hill once thought that Beech, which was supposed to take a long time to grow, had become a small tree.
Hill had originally thought the growth in his Water-affinity Talent was the only feedback from the world’s Natural Consciousness, but it was fair to give Hill two shares.
For the wind, it was an increase in Water-affinity Talent.
And for aiding the growth of the Natural Consciousness, it was a significant improvement in the strength of Hill’s entire Domain.
The core of List had grown stronger.
Many newly born Wood Elemental Spirits had also entered into slumber beside their companion trees. When they awoke again, it wasn’t just their own strength that would have advanced. The great trees they had been living with year-round would also directly become powerful Treants.
Hill felt that soon he might have as many Treants as an Elf town.
In the realm of Elves, trees might awaken into Treants after 5000 years, likely because the presence of many Wood Elemental Spirits ensured healthy tree growth.
But the great trees in Hill’s Domain, which had struggled to grow on their own, were mostly over ten thousand years old before they became Treants.
Hill could only nod at Adrian, "The Wood Elemental Spirits are growing well."
Adrian envied as he looked out from the balcony, "This is really good. The Magical Plants here must be growing incredibly well."
"If you need something, you can ask List. I don’t mind if you trade things for them," Hill said casually as he flipped through the Shell Box in his hands. This couldn’t be Bex’s work, could it be the seal of a Demigod?
"You can harvest Magical Plants?" Adrian asked in surprise.
"They are very willing to trade their branches and leaves for things," Hill looked up, "Anyway, they will grow new ones after a while."
"Okay, I’ll ask List," Adrian said, "Does he now recognize all the magical plants in the entire domain?"
"Yes," Hill tapped the box to make sure it was secure, "They like to live at the nodes of the magic array lines. List often communicates with them."
Adrian recalled the huge magic array in Hill Valley and nodded in agreement.
He watched as Hill opened the box directly and couldn’t help but lean over to look.
As Hill poured out a box full of pearl beads, opening the little shell boxes one by one, Adrian was surprised, "That turtle is so rich?"
"Killing Bex didn’t yield this many good items," Hill murmured.
Suppressing his impulse, he found a small conch, which was a Sound Transmission Conch that generally could only record a minute of speech, which would dissipate after being played once. The higher-level ones could be used multiple times but couldn’t be replayed repeatedly and had to be recorded again if needed.
The one in Hill’s hand was rare, reaching the mage level. It seemed to be a shell she had shed, very mature and without the scent of death.
Hill gently activated it, and a deep and powerful voice resonated.
"I am Quirinas, an elder relative of Bex’s.
Not that unfortunate soul who almost died at the hands of the Undead Tribe.
He got a good box from Bex, which suits us old folks who live in the sea.
I’ve heard about the price you traded with Bex, but he also told me that the box was originally intended for you to store items for trade.
He pretended to be foolish and exchanged it with you for some worthless things.
Being as old as I am, of course, I can’t take advantage of you, young one.
This is a deposit, once the box arrives, I will give you more rewards.
This conch carries my essence. If you send someone with it, no sea monsters will dare to attack you."
Hill blinked and looked down at the box full of treasures, considering that this was just the deposit, his heart couldn’t help but be tempted.
All of a sudden, Adrian said, "I’ll do the delivery, okay?"
Hill, seeing Adrian’s face brimming with undisguised envy, said helplessly, "You go ask your grandfather. There’s only so much I can do. You can do more, just have some people take it and exchange it with them, right?"
"Your boxes are different from ours because they have that natural essence which only your creations possess," Adrian shook his head, "The price they give me won’t be the same as they give you. I’d be lucky to be able to trade with them just by your grace."
Adrian looked up earnestly at Hill and said, "I was already supposed to travel around anyway. It’s a rare opportunity to see the world of the Deep Sea. If I can also successfully establish a trade route with the Deep Sea Demigod, that would be an incredible stroke of luck.
Hill, the value of a trade route is immeasurable.
The teacher will compensate you."
Adrian walked to the balcony and turned around to say, "I need to discuss this with the teacher. We must give you sufficient recompense."
Hill was about to reach out when Adrian determinedly flew off.
"But even if I have a trade route, nobody would use it," Hill murmured to himself. "I understand the importance of trade routes, but I can’t use them!"
Had Adrian not spoken up, Hill would definitely have resorted to the Undead Tribe again.
The main point was there was no need to worry about someone losing their life while helping Hill with the delivery.
But if it involved a trade route that Adrian wanted, Hill didn’t dare to act recklessly anymore.
Hill slowly picked up a few small shells, looking inside at the items that were nearly thirty times the amount that Bex had brought last time.
This is a deposit!
He knew the Deep Sea was wealthy, but this was his first encounter with such generosity!
Bex’s previous generosity was something Hill could comprehend.
Hill looked up, contemplating that even the God of Time and Space, who had not ascended to the Divine Throne, had been extremely generous.
While he had no great aspirations to become a deity, if being a demigod was this lucrative, it was worth considering!
Hill quietly tossed a Deep Sea Coral into the Crescent Lake inside his pendant. He could afford to use one and throw one away now!
