Chapter 199: Chapter 34: The Sow that Amazed Everyone (Extra Reward for Flower Ghost Great Lord)
Hill happily refined a large stack of Deep Sea Amber into building materials and constructed a warehouse dedicated to Water Materials on the ground floor.
No sooner had the warehouse been completed than the Water Elementals joyfully came to see it, sensing a very pure Water Element scent.
In front of the increasingly numerous Water Elementals gathered to spectate, Hill released a large pool that he had refined from a few shells he had acquired before.
Hill quickly felt the joy of the Water Elementals; they liked the big pool.
Hill had considered that he would receive more treasures from the sea in the future, which motivated him to craft the pool, hoping that things like the Deep Sea Coral he received next could continue to grow in his own territory.
The pool made from these shells always contained perpetually pure seawater.
Hill merrily placed the coral inside, followed by a chorus of sounds of admiration from the Water Elementals.
He turned around and said, "You can come in to see, the door won’t stop you from entering."
When Fran and Adrian entered, they silently watched as Hill earnestly searched for the right spot to place the Ice Lilies, with the pool everywhere filled with Water Elementals rolling around with pearls and spiral pearls in play.
"Grandfather!" Hill, having carefully placed so many Ice Lilies, looked up and saw Fran, joyfully calling out to him.
"Come out now!" Fran shook his head as he looked at the ridged ground, where the amber-made channels had already begun to ooze clean water, "Give it a little more time, and I probably won’t even be able to breathe in here."
Hill seriously mounted a moon-shaped lamp inlaid with Moonstone right above the pool then returned to the doorway and closed the door.
"Do they not need to come out?" Adrian asked.
"They can open this door." Hill responded with a smile.
Adrian muttered helplessly, "Nature Warlock," and then kept his mouth shut.
Mages could never understand why Nature Warlocks had such a harmonious relationship with the Elementals.
Their kind of bound Elementals, if they really dared to roam freely outside, would have smashed their Magic Tower to pieces long ago.
Hill quickly returned to the study via the Floating Stairway, where Fran settled in and said to Hill, "Are you truly not interested in the trade routes?"
"Am I supposed to employ the Undead Tribe for cargo transit?" Hill shook his head and said, "I really am not interested. I only plan to trade with the sea monsters and the Demigod myself. Uncle Adrian didn’t mention it, and I completely don’t think about the trade routes."
"Alright. I’ll let Adrian handle it," Fran affirmed decisively, "I’ve always been worried about what to do if our domestic trade routes were almost completely cut off.
"That’s fine. But you’ll need to play a role in two layers."
Fran raised his hand to stop Hill’s refusal, "Don’t mention it, giving you only 20% is because you plan on managing nothing.
Hill, Adrian and I surely will not treat you poorly, but Adrian’s apprentices might not necessarily continue to be on good terms with you.
It’s only a matter of time before you reach the Legendary status.
With life spans over ten thousand years now, once you become Legendary, I won’t even know what will become of you.
Once I become Legendary, I’ll definitely go out and seek the Mage’s path.
As for Adrian, whether he can step into the Legendary status remains uncertain."
Hill glanced at the silent Adrian.
"Don’t look at him," Fran said seriously, "He indeed hasn’t found his path to Legendary status yet. So I have no objections to his going to the Deep Sea."
Hill nodded silently.
"As long as this trade route exists, my Magic Tower can be passed down," Fran stated indifferently, "Although I don’t really have any millennia-long hopes, I would be quite happy if my Magic Tower could last a bit longer.
"So you must take these two layers, don’t refuse your rightful benefits; it only encourages others to take advantage of you."
Hill could only nod in agreement.
"Even if Adrian and I are not around," Fran said with a slight smile, "you, having become Legendary, will ensure no one dares to disrupt these two layers.
"That’s good, you can build the valley more perfectly, perhaps after becoming Legendary, find a Half-plane to move into."
"Grandfather, are you becoming Legendary?" Hill felt the active Elemental aura around Fran grimly intense.
"I am working on a space-related Alchemy Device," Fran’s eyes shone with undulations, "Once I succeed, that will be my time to enter into Legendary status."
"What exactly is your Law?"
"Alchemy has its Laws too," Fran stated proudly, "It’s just that no one has found them before. Material conversion has its rules, and I’m close to grasping them."
Hill silently looked down, having once thought about sharing some theories of physics and chemistry with Fran but found he couldn’t voice them.
And as time passed, Hill, who should have an exceptionally strong memory, strangely began to forget those theories.
Even List never noticed that the core within never housed the science textbooks Hill had read from childhood.
Hill could only use them himself, only those applied in this world could be stored into List’s core.
"I hope everything goes smoothly for you, Grandfather," Hill slowly said, "Leave the matters regarding the Demon Text to me. Go back and work on your own things!"
"It’s fine," Fran waved his hand, "Though it’s annoying to be watched, it was also very worthwhile. His Majesty the King gave a very generous reward."
Hill looked up, examined him carefully, and saw that Fran was indeed satisfied, so he said no more. William and the God of Time and Space were always magnanimous, so as long as Fran was pleased, that was good.
"You haven’t seen it yourself, have you?" Adrian asked with concern from the side, "You understand the Divine Script, don’t you? Can you read it?"
"I don’t look at those things. I get nauseous just by seeing them," Hill shook his head, "Nature also doesn’t allow me to look. It keeps me away. Those things are all sealed by List in the strongest isolation boxes.
Chances are one might need them someday."
"That’s reassuring," Adrian felt relieved.
"Uncle Adrian, when do you plan to go to the Deep Sea?" Hill asked, "I only have about five or six suitable boxes here."
"A month from now," Adrian said with a smile, "Someone from Miller’s Legend came by and mentioned that, a month later, he would also need to send a letter from the King.
He plans to go by ship this time, and I’ll just follow."
"Then I’ll make a few more, I have the materials anyway," Hill nodded with a smile.
Hill suddenly looked up, very earnestly asked, "Who did they send?"
"Who else? Hensley," Adrian said with a laugh, "I always thought they’d send a thank-you gift for saving someone, but there was no movement at all.
This time, when Hensley came over, he had the audacity to probe how you contacted the Legendary sea beasts."
"Miller’s Legend blames Hensley for leaving that Archmage alone in a dangerous place," Fran shook his head, "It was really meant for The Legend of Carl to hear.
After all, Miss Carl’s choice has upset The Legend of Carl a bit.
Even Hensley, who went back spreading words everywhere, was angered."
"Why does Hensley talk so much?" Adrian was surprised.
"A disciple of The Legend of Carl, not knowing how to please the King, all eyes were on Hensley," Fran shook his head slightly, "That one called Phillips, he took a lot of jobs from him."
Hill uttered a sound, indicating he understood why Hensley couldn’t control himself and was so blatantly instigative in front of him.
"The matters of The Legend of Carl and Miller’s Legend don’t concern us," Fran said, "and don’t talk too much while on board."
"Yes, Teacher," Adrian stood up and responded.
Fran raised his hand signaling him to sit down, and looked out the window, "Why is the natural aura in your territory so strong?"
"I did something good and got some natural rewards," Hill smiled with his eyes narrowed.
Fran looked at Hill puzzled, saw that he didn’t want to talk, and knew it was something that should not be spoken about.
Since he was so cautious even in his own Magic Tower, Fran also didn’t intend to inquire further.
"Adrian said you can trade with Magical Plants?" Fran asked in confusion, "What do they need? Specially made fertilizer?"
Hill choked momentarily, uncertain how to respond.
"There are some that can protect themselves, they need that too," Hill contemplated, speaking only that.
And the Magical Plants wanting some toys, he’d rather not mention that, letting Adrian ask List himself.
"Do you also need protection here?" Adrian asked curiously.
"Just those three pig-like Magical Beasts are enough trouble for these Magical Plants," Hill answered slowly, "They eat everything."
Since the sow became a Magical Beast, Hill had sent her to reunite with the couple’s family, but the two pigs were exhausted, searching for food everywhere every day.
Indeed, the reason the sow finally evolved was not that she was the weakest, but because she was the strongest, absorbing almost twice the elements of those two pigs combined.
Hill had almost named her ’Princess’ once, thought of William, and held back.
Hill specifically opened a plot filled with cassava for them. This plant grew rapidly in the valley, and whenever they couldn’t find anything good to eat, they would dig around that plot.
After all, by the time they ate their way from one end to the other, the first end had grown back.
The cassava in this world was still somewhat toxic, and apart from these pigs, no other Magical Beasts competed with them for it.
Hill had once asked if they wanted to leave the territory, given that with the sow, they could rule unchallenged outside.
But not one of them was willing to leave, including the always cursing hunger-unsatisfied sow.
They’d rather gnaw on cassava in Hill’s valley.
Adrian’s gaze froze for a moment: "That exceptionally voracious sow evolved?"
Hill silently nodded.
Even Fran couldn’t help but look out the window, wondering if Hill’s territory was still alright.
Hill could only slowly bow his head.
