Chapter 175: Chapter 24 Over-operating William

Hill gently patted Cohen’s little head, soothing him for a while, hoping he could calm down and continue his meditation practice.

Cohen had always been a good child. He cheerfully bid farewell to Hill, lightly hopped a few times, and then spread his wings to fly into the sky. Along the way, he also took the opportunity to scare a few of the small birds living near the Magic Tower before contentedly returning to his own dwelling.

Cohen always felt that Hill liked him because he was a bird that could fly.

Therefore, he was always on guard against other small birds approaching Hill, especially the ones that looked pretty.

Hill breathed in the fresh air, looking out at the beautiful scenery of the valley, feeling relaxed and happy.

List quickly brought breakfast, and Hill turned to enter the house and sit down.

"List, I hope you’ve brought me only good news," Hill said as he looked at List, who hesitated to speak, and put down his knife and fork.

"The Holy Water from the Black and White Path can only be stored for 24 hours once it leaves the territory," List began.

Hill nodded, "Then we’ll just issue a daily task. I trust the Undead Tribe’s desire to make money."

"Last night, a mage from Cortez came by. He said he had seen Edgar," List finally said.

"What’s going on?" Hill quickly responded, "Cortez? Is that the head of the Mage Association’s Naranhart branch? Did he really go to Edward Camp? His name is Kronos, right?"

"Yes, sir."

"Took advantage of the chaos to take Edgar away? He’s not an Earl, what impact does he have on me?" Hill said, puzzled. "Could there be some spell I don’t know of, some curse through blood that could affect me?

But Edgar, he isn’t related to me by blood, is he?"

List spoke with his head lowered, "Not many people know about this. If Edgar hadn’t been lost, Mr. Manton wouldn’t have revealed the information to you."

Because of Edgar’s disappearance, Manton had sent several verbal messages, implying that the Earl wanted the search for the child to stop, as if it would be better if he were dead.

Hill had no intention of using his own reputation to cover up for the Earl and had not cancelled the task he had announced.

In the territory, Edgar’s portrait was also posted on the notice boards, initially with the hope that some player would see it.

Hill had long known that Yue Xiaoluo was always making little videos related to the territory and often live-streaming. Anything that happened in his territory was typically known across the land by the end of the day.

Most players knew about Hill’s reward for finding a child.

If Archmage Kronos had indeed taken Edgar, then he must be hiding in a place where players seldom go.

"Which Magic Tower?" Hill asked thoughtfully.

"The former Cortez Royal Family’s Magic Tower," List answered, "which is currently being gradually taken over by His Majesty the King’s men.

This mage noticed the two during the identity confirmation process when they were being documented.

But it was only after arriving in the territory and seeing Edgar’s portrait on the notice board in front of the Lord’s Mansion that he confirmed it."

Hill nodded, "Since Edgar is safe, send someone to inform the Countess. Surely, there are some things she needs to discuss with Archmage Kronos herself."

List asked in surprise, "Do you know whether the Countess is even still alive?"

"Just send a message to the camp; there’s no need to see the Countess," Hill said with a roll of his eyes. "I have news of Edgar but don’t inform his own father. Instead, I’m going to find a stepmother who cheated on my father. Guess how long it will take for the remaining people at Edward Camp to speculate on Edgar’s lineage?

"Just find an Undead messenger."

List glanced at Hill, "Sir, are you trying to infuriate the Earl?"

"How could I?" Hill said earnestly, "The Earl has always been in good health and can withstand such a small matter."

"Anything else?" Hill asked cheerfully, picking up his knife and fork again.

"Mr. Fran, please keep the evening free three days from now," List replied. "A welcome banquet will be held."

Hill nodded, "Marsha can handle these arrangements, right?"

"I’ve given her all the necessary knowledge," List confidently answered. "Absolutely no problem."

"Then I’ll leave it all to Uncle Adrian!" Hill said as he began to eat, waving his knife and fork and closing the topic.

Hill planned to use his spare time in the coming days to continue making pendants, inspired by a great idea.

Thankful for William’s Space Crystals, Hill intended to engrave arrays inlaid with Space Crystals on all four sides of the pendant.

As long as he found the balance point, the pendant could autonomously absorb Elemental Power from the surroundings.

Not only could Elements survive in it, but Magic Plants could definitely thrive as well.

Hill smiled to himself: this would be like a magic version of a portable space! At most, it would take some effort to find fruit-bearing Magical Plants to branch out.

Even if he couldn’t grow many, Hill was willing, the thought alone making him happy.

Holed up in the Alchemy Laboratory, playing with stones until he lost track of time, Hill was finally roused when List had a Puppet knock forcefully on the door to get his attention.

After washing up and changing clothes, Hill admired himself in the mirror: he donned the head ornament that offered the strongest protection and placed the pendant around his neck. Hill made several serious expressions in the mirror.

Hmm, he looked mature enough to be a Mage and was satisfied. He then put on the Seal Ring that his maternal grandfather Fran had specially made for him. As he raised his hand to admire the weapon radiating powerful Mana waves, Hill felt ready to make a grand appearance.

Touching down on the ground and seeing Adrian waiting at the door, Hill asked in confusion, "Uncle Adrian, what are you doing standing here? Are you here to welcome me by any chance?"
