Chapter 176: Chapter 24 Over-operating William_2
"You were really planning to just go in like that!" Adrian remarked with emotion, "The teacher asked me to take you to the waiting room."
Hill widened his eyes: "We are mages, there’s no need to follow all the noble customs, right?
Do we still need a grand entrance?"
"Hill, you are the investor in this research,"
Adrian sighed and said, "Although the teacher is presiding over it, all the results must be shared with you.
You have to show some backbone!
Otherwise, people will surely try to test your limits, wanting to stir up all sorts of trouble.
But, many are truly capable; in terms of scholarly research, they absolutely cannot be bypassed.
You need to display some of the elves’ pretentious abilities, just don’t let people think you’re easy to talk to!"
Hill fell silent for a moment, thinking of the great investors from his own world.
Always on such peculiar points, he couldn’t help but lament, the world is different, but human nature is the same.
Hill followed Adrian to a rest room on the back side; Marsha had somehow opened a rear door at some point.
Hill looked around the rather opulently decorated room with a sense of wonder; his own choice would always lean towards simplicity and comfort, never considering such lavishly ornate decorations.
Adrian apparently had no interest in the decorative style coming from Hill’s line of thinking and simply did it himself.
However, Hill could spot some very Rococo curved decorations and lace-crafted flowers in some subtle places, which must be the last bit of stubbornness that Marsha preserved for her own master.
Hill sat up straight; Adrian gave him a few instructions, telling him that he would only need to make an appearance in an hour, say a few words, and then he could leave.
Watching Adrian turn to leave, Hill let out a long sigh.
Marsha immediately appeared and had puppets set out several plates of snacks: "Sir, you can lean back; I have placed a puppet specifically designed for grooming here. It can smooth out any creases in your clothes in an instant."
Hill recalled in a daze that such a puppet had been prepared when Fran had first taken him to Obastian.
Hill knew himself well; he was only delicately built on the outside but still habitually the rigid construction guy from an uninhabited Earthen locale. Not wanting to be bothered, he had opted for a once-and-for-all solution.
This puppet could ensure not a single hair nor wrinkle remained on your clothes after encircling you completely.
List actually went through the trouble of creating this too.
Although it had only been a few years, why did Hill feel like it was all a thing of the past?
He leaned back comfortably on the sofa while Marsha began to play a nocturne.
Hill asked her with surprise, "Where did that come from?"
"The Lord’s Mansion’s controller can connect to the outside screens.
You can find plenty of music inside."
Marsha happily informed Hill: "I asked the Undead Deputy Mayor to upload all the instrumental music into the core’s storage!"
Hill rubbed his temples, sobering up to the realization that he hadn’t misheard.
No wonder, the Goddess of Education and the Arts made it look so easy; William had been laying the groundwork for how long!
The players must be spreading music wherever they go!
Guys like Old Cat, who enjoy watching girls dance and sing, are surely not few.
The Space-Time Church just needs to guide a little, and this world will naturally come to accept that all this joyful and wonderful music comes from the God of Time and Space; His divinity easily garnering perfect growth.
Such cunning strategies, so deep and intricate.
Is there really such a big difference between those who build bridges and those who fire cannons? Hill lamented inwardly.
Adrian opened the door to the Lord’s Mansion, inviting Hill out.
He frowned at the sight of Hill sprawled lazily on the sofa, then speechlessly watched the puppet circling Hill.
"You always come up with weird things in the strangest places that I don’t know how to judge."
"Uncle Adrian, I can’t even use a human butler anymore," Hill lamented. "Do I have to handle these everyday trifles myself?"
Adrian glanced at Hill’s meticulous attire and said with emotion, "I want two of these puppets. The butler could never get clothes as wrinkle-free as if they hadn’t been worn."
Hill could only agree helplessly.
Adrian’s actions were always more honest than his words.
Last time he came over, he even took away a big icebox Hill had made.
Small fridges never caught Adrian’s eye until he saw the extremely large-capacity icebox Hill had made with Space Crystals. He almost carried it away cheerfully, leaving behind just a request for Hill to make a few more.
Alchemy Potions and various plant and animal materials require cold storage to be well-preserved, something many understand, yet cost-effectiveness is a merchant’s eternal pursuit.
The lower the cost of products sold, the better, and if the quality is even slightly higher with a considerable price increase, they won’t sell either.
Hill’s large icebox was intended for stocking up the grocery store. Mainly because in the last two years, more and more potions came from William’s side, and Hill needed to find better selling points, or his small workshop would be driven to bankruptcy by industrial products.
As it turned out, once Adrian saw it, he completely forgot his claim that Hill’s small fridge was all flash and no substance, and moved it away with high spirits, only telling Hill to make a few more.
Hill had no response and simply had to work hard on his own to meet the demands of both territories.
Adrian left satisfied, and Hill heard Marsha’s voice: "Respected lord, Magister Baron Polanio."
