Surviving the Apocalypse: All I Want Is to Find a Husband -
Chapter 92: Merciless Couple
Chapter 92: Merciless Couple
Orlon felt his entire body being wrapped by the invisible chains. The pressure constricted his chest, making it feel like his lungs were being crushed with every breath.
He gritted his teeth in anger, looking at Lucian and Medeia with fury in his eyes. "This... this experiment is necessary! You just can’t see it with such narrow-mindedness!"
Medeia lowered her head, looking down at Orlon with an icy stare. "If you want to experiment on humans that much, why don’t you use your own body? Oh... maybe we can try that now."
Orlon’s face turned pale. He didn’t know what kind of things Medeia would do, but he knew it would be a nightmare for him.
The air around them seemed to grow heavier, and Orlon’s body twitched involuntarily under the pressure of Lucian’s power.
His limbs jerked unnaturally, as if being pulled by invisible strings, his spine cracking painfully as it bent to behind.
A sickening pop echoed as his joints dislocated, his skin stretching and tearing every time his body moved. His body was contorted like a broken doll, unable to move without screaming in agony.
"P-please ...." He gasped for air, but each breath came with sharp, painful gasps.
Lucian nor Medeia didn’t answer his plea. They watched as Orlon’s body continued to crack through their cold eyes.
His skin began to crack and blood was oozing from the cracks. His eyes were wide with terror, his body had completely broken, but he was still alive.
Lucian deliberately didn’t stop his heart or touch his important organs. Medeia asked him to make Orlon feel the pain of countless kids, so he would fulfill her wish.
Blood flowed from the cracks of his skin, staining the ground beneath him. After twenty minutes of pain and torment, Lucian broke his neck.
His lifeless body collapsed onto the ground. Whoever saw his condition, no one would expect him to be a human.
"I still think that’s not enough," Medeia sighed, her eyes cold as she gazed at Orlon’s disfigured form. "But yeah... his weak body couldn’t handle much more."
Lucian asked, "Don’t you want to take his soul?"
"Nah, I lost my appetite."
Medeia felt too disgusted by his behavior and appearance, so she didn’t want to consume his soul.

[Item Reward: Elixir of Perfect Fertility (Grade-SS) — Effect: When consumed, the potion ensures that the user will conceive a child who will be 100% healthy upon birth. The child will be free from any genetic defects, diseases, or abnormalities.]
Medeia was taken aback by the reward. The Elixir of Perfect Fertility was not something she had expected to receive.
The system was mocking her before, but now it suddenly gave her something like that?
She had lost her children dozens of times and the thought of having another one would be such a traumatic experience for her.
Furthermore, she didn’t think the environment she lives in right now was ideal for a child. Who in the right mind wanted to bring a child into the world that was filled with monsters and endless nightmares?
If what the system did to her wasn’t a mockery, then Medeia didn’t know the right word for it.
"Are you okay?" Lucian’s voice brought her into reality. "You seem like you’re thinking about something."
Medeia turned her face away from that disgusting corpse, then lifted her face to look at Lucian. "I’m fine. I just ... feel a little bit tired."
As she looked at him, a thought suddenly came into her mind. Talk about kids ... Medeia wasn’t sure if Lucian wanted them either.
Well, he was good with kids and could take care of her very well. But still, Medeia wasn’t sure if Lucian would want to settle down and have a small family with her.
She had always referred to him as her husband, but the truth was, Medeia had no idea if Lucian wanted to marry her or not.
"I think I can walk now." Medeia was about to get down from Lucian’s arms, but he tightened his grasp instead.
"Not a chance," he said firmly. "You’ve pushed yourself too far before. Let me carry you."
Instead of feeling bad, Medeia leaned her head on his chest. "How can I reject a strong, handsome man’s offer?"
"Tian, are you still alive?!" Ren’s voice echoed through the base. He shook his brother’s body and slapped his cheeks to wake him up.
Medeia creased her forehead as she saw that scene. "What happened over there? And since when did Tian have that kind of ability?"
He even had never used that kind of ability when they were in the X-12 Zone.
"He probably doesn’t have enough energy to use that ability." Lucian guessed, "I heard from others, Tian gets sick very often whenever he gets too tired."
"He always said that his brother wasn’t able to live long without him, but I’m not sure about that now." Medeia sighed. "The probability of him dying first is really high."
"Let’s not talk about death for now," reminded Lucian.
They had witnessed too much death today, so it would be better if they avoided that kind of conversation for some time.
Lucian then walked toward Ren to see the problem. "Your brother will getting more sick if you slap him like that."
Ren glared at Lucian, his hands still gripping Tian’s shoulders. "Then what am I supposed to do? Sing him a lullaby? His body felt colder than usual, and I have no idea how to wake him up!"
He turned his gaze toward Medeia. "Can you give him a potion that you once gave me?"
"That potion is only for urgent illnesses. Your brother ... he just looks tired," said Medeia.
Actually, Medeia just didn’t want to use her healing potion for another person anymore. The numbers were getting smaller and the system was too stingy to give her more.
Unless it was really necessary, Medeia would never issue her precious healing potions.
Lucian crouched beside them, his expression looked so calm. "Stop panicking. He’s not dead, just exhausted. Bring him to the infirmary to take a rest. If he still doesn’t wake up, we can get a doctor to check on him."
"Doctor?" Ren furrowed his eyebrows. "You want to let those doctors stay here after all the rotten things they’ve done?"
"Why not? They’re still useful for us." Before Ren or others refused his decision, he spoke again. "But of course, I’ll select them carefully. Only the ones with clean hands will stay. The rest ... It depends on Medeia."
Medeia was surprised by his words. "Me? Why me?"
"Because you’re our leader now," Lucian replied calmly. "That’s why, every decision we make must have your approval."
Medeia blinked in disbelief. "Wait. You were serious about that whole ’leader’ thing? I thought it was just for show."
When Lucian had given her the title, she’d assumed it was a facade—something to protect her while he pulled the strings in the shadows. The idea that he genuinely intended for her to lead hadn’t even crossed her mind.
"It was never just for show. You’re the reason everyone is having a second chance to live in a better place. Everyone trusts you and they will follow your words." Lucian said firmly, "You’re really a perfect leader for us."
Ah, interesting.
Maybe Lucian was the only person who had a strong ability but didn’t have a desire to become a leader.
"Hey, I’m sorry for disturbing your conversation. But if you want to select the doctors who will stay here, can you do it quickly?" Ren begged them, "My brother is dying here."
Medeia rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on! Your brother is just sleeping!"
Not long after she said that, Tian was suddenly coughing up blood and made Ren even more panicked. "See?! He’s dying!"
Harry and Simon immediately helped Ren move his brother into the infirmary room. They had never seen Tian get that sick, so they were as panicked as Ren.
Meanwhile, Lucian and Medeia arrived at the room where the doctors were confined. All of them shivered as they walked into the room, feeling scared that they would also kill them as mercilessly as they did to Orlon.
Medea realized the window curtains were open, so the doctors must have seen what happened to Orlon.
After their leader died and the soldiers were eaten by their experimental monster, the doctors basically had no chance to fight.
Lucian helped Medeia to sit on the chair and ensured she didn’t get uncomfortable.
"Are you going to kill us too?" asked one of the doctors. She seemed younger than the rest, so Medeia thought the doctors had taken apprentices to continue their work in the future.
