Chapter 79: Blueprint

Medeia walked toward the group of people from the Junk Garden. Some of them seemed to be making sketches to rebuild the base, and others were trying to measure the area.

"Jose," Medeia called to a man she had first met in the Junk Garden. "I didn’t expect you to come here too."

Jose was one of the most important people in the Junk Garden, so Medeia didn’t expect him to come to the Red Canyon.

"Miss Medeia, we meet again." He continued, "The leader doesn’t want to make a mistake, so he wanted me to come here in person."

It seemed that Richard really respected Lucian so much that he wanted to do what was best for his cousin. Furthermore, he probably also wanted Jose to collect the seeds and information on how to fertilize the soil.

Before Jose asked her, she said, "I will give you the information on how to fertilize the soil before you leave and then send the seeds to the Junk Garden along with the water supplies this week.

Jose was surprised because Medeia had already anticipated his request. "You ... have thought of everything, Miss Medeia."

Medeia crossed her arms and smiled. "Of course. If I waited for you to ask, we would waste time, and we don’t have much time in this world, do we?" Then she asked him to follow her. "Come, I want to give you the blueprint for building the base."

Jose blinked in surprise and hurried to follow Medeia. "Blueprints? You mean ... you’ve already planned everything?"

Medeia smiled faintly as she led him into a small, makeshift office. "I happen to be a great planner."

A great liar, to be exact.

Who had the time to create a detailed blueprint from scratch in just a few days?

She pulled the blueprint from her inventory and unrolled it on the table. The design had been meticulously adjusted to fit the canyon’s unique landscape, and the structure incorporated the canyon’s natural walls.

Jose leaned over the table, his eyes scanning the details of the blueprint. "This ... this is incredible, Miss Medeia. Using the canyon walls as part of the design will save us time and materials."

Medeia smiled proudly and for the first time, she was grateful for having the system. "The canyon walls are strong, so why not let nature do half the work for us?"

Medeia tapped her fingers on the blueprint. "But this plan is not perfect yet. I need the technicians and mechanics from Junk Garden to upgrade it so that the base will be suitable for generating electricity."

Jose nodded. "You’re thinking of solar panels?"

"Exactly," Medeia replied, glancing at the bright, scorching sun that baked the canyon daily. "The sun is relentless here. It would be a waste not to use that energy. Solar panels would be more reliable than wind in this environment."

"Smart choice," Jose agreed. "Junk Garden has used both solar panels and wind turbines, but we’ve had better results with solar, especially in areas with consistent sunlight. I’ll bring our technicians here to help integrate a solar grid into the design."

"Good," Medeia said, "about the materials ... Lucian may be able to change the materials as he likes, but I don’t think it’s ideal for him to make all the materials for the base."

He might be strong, but Medeia was sure he had a limit. If he pushed himself too hard, Lucian would probably get sick.

"Don’t worry about that. We know places where we can gather good quality building materials." Jose reassured her, "The leader has thought of that."

"Good. Then I’ll leave it to you." Medeia handed him the plan. "Wait here, I’ll give you something to fertilize the soil."

Medeia then asked someone to bring two sacks of fertility stones to the office. She then explained to Jose how to activate the fertility stones. "Activating these stones is easy, but it will be safe if one person activates only five stones each week."

They didn’t have a super healing ability like Naomi. Therefore, Medeia wanted to make sure that no one in the Junk Garden would die from activating the fertility stones.

Honestly, Medeia could activate the stones for them, but why would she do that?

Richard was the one who decided to plant the crops himself instead of getting the crops from the Red Alliance. Therefore, he had to take responsibility for his own decision.

"I’ll make sure everyone follows your instructions carefully." Jose carefully accepted the bag of fertility stones. "I really didn’t expect that these stones could be used to fertilize the soil."

They had seen the stones every time they entered the forest, but none of them had thought that they were useful.

But that was actually quite normal.

People tend to judge things by their appearance. A small stone would look useless in their eyes, so no one would expect it to have an incredible use.

"Thank you, Miss Medeia. I really appreciate this knowledge," Jose said.

After the people from Junk Garden finished observing and measuring the site, they decided to leave the Red Canyon before sunset. Medeia, standing near the gate, whispered to Naomi. "Prepare a sack of fresh vegetables for them. Consider it a gesture of goodwill."

Naomi nodded enthusiastically. "On it!" She dashed off to the farm and returned minutes later with a large sack full of vegetables.

Jose grinned as Naomi handed him the bag. "You didn’t have to do that, but thank you." He asked, "Why haven’t I seen Mr. Lucian since earlier? Did he go somewhere else?"

Medeia’s expression turned a little grim. "My husband is not coming home today," she replied curtly, looking like a desperate wife who had been abandoned by her husband.

Jose blinked, taken aback by her sudden nickname for Lucian. If he remembered correctly, Medeia had told them that she was just Lucian’s companion. But he decided not to think too much about it. "Oh, I see. I hope he’ll be home soon."
