Chapter 74: Samuel Blackangel
[The life of Samuel Blackangel, an individual who would save the world from utter destruction in the future, is in grave danger].
[You have two choices].
[1 - Quickly go out and save the life of Samuel Blackangel].
[Reward - A random Skill].
[2 - Go After taking a Short break, rest is also important].
[Reward - A random Skill].
"What kind of bullshit choice is this?" Dawn’s eye twitched. "Rest or rush? I still get a skill either way?"
He ran a hand down his face. "Absolute Order, are you messing with me?"
No matter what choice he made, the result would still be the same.... "Hmmm, what if I don’t choose anything."
Thinking up to this point, he immediately felt relieved.
Now that his thoughts had calmed down, he noticed something.
The guy Samuel Blackangel was bound to be someone important for Absolute Order to care so much about him.
"Let’s find out how you are..."
Dawn didn’t delay any longer; he quickly chose the first option and prepared to burst at his maximum speed.
In the next moment, however, his figure came to an abrupt halt.
"How the fuck am I supposed to find this guy..."
The air rippled like a heatwave, and suddenly—a glowing arrow carved itself into the sky, pulsing faintly in the northern direction.
Dawn blinked. "...Oh. That’s convenient."
Dawn realized this was Absolute Order guiding him.
Undoubtedly, the Samuel Blackangel guy was even more important than he previously thought.
Dawn’s figure moved like a swift arrow cutting through the air; in just minutes, he covered tens of kilometers of distance.
Of course, his exaggerated movement speed created quite a big disturbance, causing many two-headed anacondas to chase after him.
Dawn, however, was not in the mood to deal with them, so he rose slightly upwards.
At such a height, the two-headed anacondas could only jump upward and could do nothing to harm him.
Suddenly, the arrows turned downwards.
Dawn stopped mid-air, his eyes looking at a figure sitting atop a tree branch with a carefree smile.
Perched lazily on a tree branch, a young man lounged as if he had no care in the world. A strand of grass dangled from his lips, bouncing slightly as he hummed an off-key melody.
Unknown to the young man, a black gigantic shadow was slowly moving upwards.
Two reptilian’s glowing eyes eyed the young man’s figure with ruthlessness.
Samuel Blackangel looked completely unaware of the danger.
Dawn’s eyes narrowed, and a solemn expression appeared on his face.
"Careful.." while diving downward, he warned in a stern tone.
...
It had been some days since Samuel came to the Eternal battlefield.
Today he was out here chilling, enjoying the beautiful scenery, when he heard someone shouting.
Hearing the unknown voice, Samuel slowly turned his head upward, only to see a midget dressed in a fancy outfit coming toward him. Surprised, he asked, "Who?"
Just at this moment, the tree which Samuel was sitting on shook fiercely as if it was about to be uprooted.
Samuel almost lost his balance and fell to the muddy water below.
Afraid to fall down and dirty his clothes, Samuel clutched the branch tightly.
"What the hell, I changed my clothes for the n-th time today.."
Samuel didn’t know why but appeared as if the world didn’t want him to wear any clothes.
Since morning, due to one reason or another, he had to change his clothes repeatedly.
Just as he was thinking about useless things, a gigantic head emerged from the water.
Feeling the unknown beneath him, Samuel peered downwards with a curious smile, not an ounce of fear in his face.
For a moment, Dawn thought his eyes were deceiving him, because just when the snake appeared, a small, almost completely unnoticeable smile had appeared on the young man’s face.
"What the hell man..."
However, he stopped thinking mid-way as the giant two-headed anaconda made a forceful leap and moved towards the young man at fast speed.
The anaconda lunged. A massive impact shook the tree, sending leaves flying as the trunk splintered from the force.
Samuel, still gripping his branch, blinked in mild curiosity as the entire tree tilted.
"Oh. That’s not good."
A second later, the tree gave out—and Samuel fell with it.
"Damn, what an idiot.." Dawn gritted his teeth in frustration, watching this scene. The guy was too stupid; even when the snake was right in front of him, he was sitting on the tree branch like a dumb duck.
This pathetic guy had no survival instinct at all; how was he going to save the world?
While Dawn was thinking, the snake opened its gaping maw with the intent of swallowing Samuel whole in one large bite.
"No, you don’t, little shit.."
Crimson light flared. A sharp, searing hiss cut through the air—then, in an instant, a beam pierced through the snake’s skull, leaving a gaping, molten hole.
The anaconda twitched once, then collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut.
[Random skill has been awarded x1]
[Skill.....]
Splash! The snake’s body, weighing in tons, fell on the muddy ground beneath, splashing water in every direction; some drops also landed on Dawn’s body.
Samuel, on the other hand, was completely drenched.
Samuel looked down at his drenched clothes. His lips curled downward. "...Figures."
He shook his head, flicking away droplets. "At this point, I think the universe just doesn’t want me wearing clothes."
Dawn stared at the lunatic in disbelief.
The guy had just narrowly escaped death—and all he cared about was his damn clothes.
Dawn felt something in his brain snap.
Had this guy finally lost it?
"Brother, are you okay?" Dawn asked in worry.
Hearing Dawn’s question, Samuel turned his head to look at him, his eyes filled with innocence.
"Why would I not be okay? Anyways, before asking questions, shouldn’t you introduce yourself..no?"
Hearing Samuel’s innocent question, Dawn’s lips twitched uncontrollably.
The guy looked completely relaxed as if his life wasn’t almost at death’s door just a moment ago.
Dawn’s eyes almost turned slightly crimson.
