Chapter 42: Fierce fight
Chapter 42: Fierce fight
"He knows!!"
"Damn... he knows."
Dawn cursed under his breath; he instinctively knew the Nether Wraiths king was talking about the Abyss Mark.
To be honest, during these past three years, the Mark had remained completely silent. Sometimes Dawn even forgot its existence.
"Hehehe..."
The Nether Wraith king laughed sinisterly. He himself was not sure of his findings; there seemed to be a strange aura surrounding Dawn’s body rendering his probing useless. But from the reaction just now, the Nether Wraiths king was completely certain.
"The stars have aligned. The wheel turns at last."
A low chuckle reverberated through the cavern. His eyes glowed with something deeper than madness—certainty.
"How long I have waited for this moment... And here you are. The final chess piece. The curse soul. The end of my suffering."
Nether Wraith’s king started to mutter with a dazed look in his pitch black pupils.
Looking at the manically laughing Nether Wraiths king, Dawn’s stomach churned, and a very bad feeling rose in his heart.
Jasmine’s eyes shook with horror. She could feel the atmosphere in the room suddenly changing; under her perception, the whole cavern seemed to have fallen silent.
Suddenly understanding something, her eyes widened. She muttered in disbelief, "Impossible."
Mira Silverfire didn’t say anything. She blankly stared at the figure of the Nether Wraiths king, who seemed to be growing bigger with each passing moment.
"Run for your life!!"
Jasmine ignored her injuries and decisively spoke. Following her words, binding silver light bloomed around her figure.
Mira, who was dazedly looking at the Nether Wraiths king’s figure, was also covered by the silvery glow.
Understanding the situation was beyond her control, Jasmine had decided to escape.
Nether Wraith’s eyes turned frosty. He coldly snorted.
"What do you think of this place? Coming and going as you please."
"Today, nobody is going to leave this place. This is where you will rest eternally."
Following the Nether Wraiths king’s words, the air in the cavern exploded, and the ground shook.
With Nether Wraith’s king as the center, a vast pressure that almost made Dawn want to kneel descended like a surging tide.
The silvery light escaping into the distance suddenly flickered and disappeared, revealing the figures of two women.
Bang!
Jasmine and Mira quickly tried to get up but failed as their bodies refused to follow their commands.
"Peak Gold Rank," Mira Silverfire muttered in fear. She was familiar with the pressure released by the Nether Wraiths king.
Jasmine’s cold face also turned ugly, and despair started to creep in. Her fingers were slightly clenched.
The cold and detached look in her eyes suddenly started to collapse.
Jasmine had the urge to cry as the faces of numerous clansmen flashed in her mind, looking at her with hope.
"Just why, god... why."
.....
Dawn barely managed to remain standing. Just as he was about to collapse under the pressure, a cold sensation seemed to have emerged from his heart, allowing him to keep standing.
It was as if his body was adapting to the pressure released by the Nether Wraiths king.
If it wasn’t for this change, he would have already escaped, leaving the two girls crying behind him.
Although his Superhero class wanted him to save the girls and defeat the villain, in the end, it was just a class.
It didn’t define each and every one of his actions. He couldn’t risk his life for others, after all, this was real life, not some novel where the protagonist would always win.
Situation in the battlefield was highly volatile and could change for worse anytime.
Dawn didn’t want to die, not before he found the answer to his questions.
Not before he explored the world and enjoyed all the things that it had to offer!!
Not before he ducked some bitches!!!
The only thing stopping Dawn from going out place was this Nether Wraiths king.
Dawn didn’t care how strong the Nether Wraith king was; the poor fellow had to die today.
As if responding to his thoughts, the fiery red cape let out an intense glow and fluttered wildly.
"A mere pawn thinking about fighting me," Nether Wraith’s King chuckled with a sneer.
"Let me show you your place first, hmph..."
Before these words had even reached Dawn’s ears, the gigantic figure of Nether Wraith’s king moved like a spark of electricity and instantly appeared in front of Dawn.
Nether Wraith face was cold thousand years ice and even somewhat indifferent, as if he wasn’t fighting a fearsome Red-Caped Demon but an ant that could be crushed at will.
The air howled in agony, and the firm walls of the cavern shook as if they were about to collapse.
And suddenly the cavern felt completely silent, like the calm before the storm.
Dawn’s pupils sharply contracted, and a strong sense of death gripped his heart.
His mind was already in battle mode. Without even needing him to think anything, his mind already reacted.
Dawn’s two eyes, deep as a pool, suddenly glowed with a strong crimson color, and a searing heat erupted in the surrounding.
Boooom!!!
The dark cavern was suddenly split into two equal parts by the bright red ray of light that seemed to have split reality into two.
BOOM!
Loud thundering boom filled the air as if the sky itself was collapsing.
"Such power," Mira muttered in awe while trying to protect herself from the searing that seemed to directly burn her soul to a crisp.
Even when the attack of the Red-Caped Demon wasn’t directly aimed at her, but it made it difficult for her to sit still.
Jasmine beside her was also shaken to the core. An almost unbelievable look appeared on her face.
"Such power!!"
The power displayed by Red-Caped Demon seemed to defy common sense.
In her heart, she couldn’t stop herself from asking: was this what an Iron rank Warrior was capable of?
In no time, the smoke cleared, revealing the figures of Dawn and the Nether Wraiths king.
Both of them looked unharmed. However, if you looked closely, Nether Wraith’s king looked greatly shaken.
"How is his soul strength so strong?" Nether Wraiths king thought in confusion. The attack launched by the Red-Caped Demon seemed to be at a terrifying level of power that sent waves through his heart.
