Chapter 38: 2 Years later

2 years later...

A little boy with short hair on his head and beautiful gemstone-like eyes was sitting cross-legged in meditation.

The boy’s chest slowly rose up and down steadily.

This boy was none other than Dawn.

It had been two years since that incident with the Abyss snake, and Dawn had barely changed.

Beside him, there was no one in the room. The windows were tightly closed, not allowing even a single ray of light to enter.

Outside the muffled voices of guards echoed in the distance.

Above his head flashed the phantom of a large Milky river exuding an otherworldly aura, it’s silvery glow dancing with the shadows. Feeling the aura of the river, the world seemed to cry out in joy like a child meeting his mother after a long time. Tendrils of mana emerged from the void like hands and slowly merged with Dawn’s figure.

Slowly as time passed the quiet hum of mana around him disappeared, his consciousness pluginng into the depths of time itself.

.....

"Why is this so hard?" Dawn muttered while gazing into the distance.

Inside a grand courtyard, a figure of young man moved silently. With the figures every step ground shook like a warm drum.

The young man’s figure looked very similar to Dawn in appearance – the same pointed nose, sharp eyebrows. It could even be said that Dawn looked like a carbon copy of the young figure.

If anyone who was familiar with Dawn in the Skylar family were to hear his frustrated muttering, their eyes would have widened in disbelief.

After all, Young Master Dawn was a genius who could understand everything with a single glance, no matter how mysterious the technique.

After sighing, Dawn once again focused on the young man’s figure.

Dawn suddenly felt a sharp, almost piercing sensation in his eyes. Soon the pain became unbearable, as if something was being carved on the fabric of his very being. Yet even his body screamed for him to look away, he couldn’t. His heart pounded, a mix of terror and awe surging through his veins. He had to see. He had to understand.

Completely unaware of Dawn’s suffering, the figure of the young man holding a short wooden sword in his hands continued to dance in the falling rain.

The young man’s steps were filled with grace and majesty, his sword moving with a mystifying glow. Although the sword in his hand was wooden and blunt, the raindrops that came in contact with it were immediately split into two equal parts.

The world suddenly seemed to dim. The only thing that remained was the young man and his wooden sword merging with the void seamlessly. With each passing moment, the speed of the young man’s swings increased.

A strange, almost horrifying momentum suddenly seemed to erupt with the young man at its center.

The wind howled and earth cracked in protest.

Dawn’s expression turned ugly witnessing this scene – the dreaded moment had finally arrived.

It was at this moment that the young man finally opened his mouth.

"With a swing of my sword, I cleave the world."

"With another swing, I cleave the shackles binding my fate."

"With another swing, I cleave all the obstacles on my path to Ascension."

The voice of the young man reverberated in the surroundings like a loud declaration challenging the natural order of things.

Each swing of the young man’s sword seemed to shatter an almost invisible chain hanging in the void binding his figure tightly, as if the young man was a prisoner and the world itself was his prison.

And when the young man finished his last words, the entire reality seemed to have been split into two equal parts.

"Argh!" Dawn groaned in pain. Blood was flowing out of his eyes like a fountain, but he forced himself to watch this apocalyptic scene.

He gritted his teeth and persisted, ignoring the blood that flowed freely, dying his clothes crimson.

Bang!

Suddenly, the fog filling his mind seemed to have disappeared, and a sense of clarity filled his head.

"That’s how it is..."

"Believe in the sharpness of the sword and it can cut through everything."

Dawn muttered incoherently. At the same time, the world around him cracked like glass.

Before he realized it, his figure was swimming in the milky white river. Around his figure were numerous round black spheres floating elusively. Swimming up and down, riding the rivers current like expert swimmers.

The cold and thick water of the river vibrated as black sphere gently hummed.

From time to time, the figures of heroic young men and women would flash in these black spheres, exuding terrifying momentum.

Dawn, however, didn’t seem to mind change in scenery. He looked completely unfazed as he digested his recent insights.

In his hands was a black sphere. Occasionally on the surface of the sphere, an image of a young man holding the wooden sword would flash.

Suddenly Dawn’s eyes opened, and he glanced at the sphere in his hand and muttered in a grateful tone.

"Thank you, ancestor."

The young man practicing the sword was none other than an ancestor of the Skylar family, whose experience was recorded in the River of Ancestral Origin.

Dawn sighed as he let go of the sphere in his hand, his eyes flashing with complex emotions.

In the past two years, he had gotten familiar with the technique Resisting the Changes of Seven Rivers as well as the River of Ancestral Origin.

Although he had gotten stronger but his confusion had also increased.

Dawn’s mind was filled with thousands of questions: who was his ancestor fighting, and what were these chains binding his figure?

As he thought about all these questions, Dawn felt an intense headache.

In the end, he looked at the white river and sighed.

"The world is even more complicated than I earlier thought."

Dawn suddenly stopped resisting the flow, and his body turned into a particle of light, flowing downward with the current.

.....

In the room, the phantom of the Ancestral river flashed with strong silvery light and Dawn’s eyes opened.

Without bothering with anything else, he looked at the window floating before him.

[Brave warrior, you experienced the Myth of Ashron Skylar, a proud ascender who dominated an era]

[Due to the myths influence the chances of awakening the Radiant Moon class have increased.]

[Brave warrior, you have finally understood the technique, ’One Sword to Rule the World.’]

As Dawn looked at the last window, his eyes flashed with unprecedented joy.

Finally, he had managed to grasp the elusive skill of the ancestors.

While Dawn was feeling happy, the windows in front of him once again rippled and descriptions of the technique appeared before his eyes.
