Chapter 939 - 939 925 Won the Prize

Chapter 939: Chapter 925: Won the Prize Chapter 939: Chapter 925: Won the Prize Seeing more and more black-headed monsters approaching, about to be roasted by the big fire any moment now, the only way to get rid of them was to enter the forest.

Entering the forest and falling down wouldn’t be too bad, so he quickly led the White Eagle and dashed into the woods.

The size of the White Eagle was clearly smaller than those black-headed monsters, but because of its smaller size, it was more agile and could weave through tiny spaces.

But danger didn’t pass; although the monsters couldn’t keep up and were blocked by branches, they could spew fire, and fireballs could fly over, blasting the branches behind him into flames. Ye Chen didn’t dare join in their game.

The White Eagle could only dodge left and right.

However, the swarms of black-headed monsters didn’t give up and kept coming one after another.

With a boom, a branch was struck and came crashing down, hitting both Ye Chen and the White Eagle. Realizing things were going south, Ye Chen didn’t care about much else and leaped from the White Eagle’s back, shouting, “Red Demonic Spirit, get ready to catch a branch for me, I can’t be left crippled.”

“You brat, aren’t you supposed to be tough? Why do you still need my help?”

“Hey, quit your yapping and hurry up!” as he fell from the tall tree.

Falling into the forest, he could no longer concern himself with the life or death of the White Eagle; although he wanted to save it, the continuous barrage of fireballs only allowed him to look out for himself.

The long black arms were still quite useful, swinging from branch to branch like a monkey, allowing him to enter the dense forest where the winged black-headed monsters no longer had the advantage.

Ye Chen released several palms, chopping down the trees behind him, blocking the monsters from continuing their pursuit.

The loud noise from the back mountain alarmed the Tianye Demon at the front mountain, who asked, “What’s happening at the back?”

Po Ren immediately ordered someone to check.

Soon, a disciple ran back and reported, “We don’t know what happened, but a White Eagle appeared, bringing a young lad into the area, right at the back mountain.”

“Damn it, a young lad at the back mountain?” The Tianye Demon was puzzled.

“Did everyone from the New City Sect go to the back mountain?” Silver Moon Fox was also puzzled.

“It could be someone who’s gotten separated,” the messenger disciple replied.

Silver Moon Fox asked, “So, is he dead?”

“The Big White Eagle was brought down, and the lad fell into the forest; we’re still searching for him now.”

Po Ren wondered, “What are the people from the New City Sect doing at the back mountain!”

The Tianye Demon was also confused, “Right, what are they doing at the back mountain? No, we must figure out what exactly is going on,” he said to Po Ren, “Third brother, take some people to the back mountain to check things out, see what the situation is.”

“Alright, I’ll take some people over for a look now.”

Silver Moon Fox said, “It’s not that urgent, right? It’s just one person that barged in.” He thought to himself, wondering if he was being paranoid.

But Po Ren said, “No, we should be cautious. We don’t know what they might be up to.”

With only two days left, the Tianye Demon didn’t want any trouble now, so he instructed Po Ren, “Make sure you find out what’s happening.” Compared to Silver Moon Fox, Po Ren was the one he trusted most.

Ye Chen had shaken off those flying creatures and finally had a moment of peace.

“Are you going to go back to check on the female Big White Eagle?” the Red Demonic Spirit asked.

“I really want to go back, but I know it can’t escape; returning would be useless.” Ye Chen glanced at the map to confirm his location and headed toward the indicated mountain peak, adding, “I’m almost certain I’ve alerted the people of the Tianye Demon.”

Worried about being found, he knew he had to hurry to bring the others over. If they encountered the Tianye Demon’s people, it would be bad news if they couldn’t escape.

Fortunately, the forest was dense. Ye Chen circled back to the Canyon.

Looking straight ahead.

He quickly coordinated with the group ahead, and using a makeshift bow created from the trees, they shot a rope across. Ye Chen caught the rope shot from the other side and tied it to a large tree, pulling it taut. There was a height difference between here and the opposite bank, which Ye Chen had previously judged correctly.

They could use this difference to slide over from the other side.

One by one, they followed closely. After making sure that the black-headed monsters were fooled, he allowed them to come over—but fortunately, there weren’t many people, and the distance wasn’t too far, providing much more secrecy.

They had all crossed over, but at that moment, the roar of monsters came from behind.

It wasn’t just one; a whole pack was howling. They couldn’t have been discovered, could they? Ye Chen became cautious and called out, “We can’t stay here long; we must go quickly.”

A few flying black-headed monsters still spotted them.

A fireball flew over and completely exposed their location, with the monsters behind getting closer and those above still not shaken off—as more followed from behind.

Ye Chen was taken aback; it seemed the Tianye Demon’s people were very cautious.

“Let’s go, as long as we don’t end up in someone else’s camp, we’ll be fine.” Ye Chen determined that the Tianye Demons couldn’t possibly send many to search for them; they were still occupied with confronting Jiang Zhuge and the others and couldn’t spare too many to deal with him. Nor did they have the energy.”

Po Ren led his men to the opposite cliff and saw a rope, immediately realizing what had happened. “Someone has broken in,” he said, but he didn’t know how many people had come.

“Our big predators are already watching them.”

“Don’t let them escape. I want none to slip through,” Po Ren said, unaware of their purpose, but if they were from the Xian Demon Realm, it could be very bad for them, possibly part of some scheme.

To shake off those black-headed monsters, Ye Chen could only venture deeper into the dense forest, bearing one clear point in mind: never blunder into someone else’s lair.

Suddenly, over a dozen Tianye Demons appeared ahead, and it was hard to tell if their dark complexions were the result of staying too long in Hell Tower without sunlight. Armed with broadswords, they charged at him, shouting, “They’re over here,” and released a few slobbering, ferocious monsters they had been holding.

Confronting Ye Chen straight ahead, it was clear they were just petty underlings. Confirming there weren’t many, Ye Chen leaped forward, sending seven or eight bolts of lightning slicing through the monsters, roaming, cleaving trees, shattering the ground with deafening booms…

The slobbering creatures released couldn’t possibly withstand the lightning Ye Chen unleashed and were promptly flung away.

The leader was taken aback; he hadn’t expected this kid’s martial arts to be so fierce.

Yet before he could recover, Ye Chen, hovering midair, slashed down with his sword again, like a thunderous charge of thousands of troops, frightening the underlings into dropping their weapons and fleeing. Those slower to escape were blown away.

The noise behind him was getting closer, evidently more people were coming, and Ye Chen had no desire to waste time here.

Po Ren rushed over and saw the chaos, some even hanging from tree branches, unsure what had transpired.

He pulled down a small leader who was still breathing and demanded, “What exactly happened?”

“A kid, leading a bunch of guys,” the subordinate said.

“How many?”

“About a dozen. That kid can shoot lightning, his martial arts are extraordinary, and he has a sword that seems like the one the Moonlight Fairy had.”

Po Ren was shocked and muttered, “What nonsense about the Moonlight Fairy, she’s long been dead.”

“But that sword in his hand, it truly is the Moonlight Fairy’s Moonlight Sword.”

Po Ren shouted, “Chase after him!”

Ye Chen had no choice but to keep running.

“I refuse to believe I can’t catch you,” Po Ren continued, “Release the Winged Dragons, blast that guy to death.”

Even if they couldn’t blast him to death, they mustn’t let him escape, Po Ren thought.

The monsters were becoming increasingly numerous.

Ye Chen didn’t know how long he had been running.

Suddenly, a group of people surrounded him from all sides, and Po Ren was at the front, having used the black-headed monsters to trap Ye Chen, finally catching up. Po Ren glimpsed the sword in Ye Chen’s hand and saw it was indeed the Moonlight Fairy’s sword. He wondered how could this guy possess the Moonlight Fairy’s sword and asked, “Who are you? How do you have the Moonlight Fairy’s sword?”

“Scared now, aren’t you? If you are, step aside quickly, or else I’ll show you how formidable the Warding Evil Sword Technique is.”

“Damn it, it’s not over yet,” Po Ren declared cautiously, drawing out his sword, which resembled a cane with unsightly lumps, especially ugly.

With a slash, a wave of sword energy surged towards him like an unleashed monster.

This was definitely a formidable opponent; his martial arts were impressive, and Po Ren dared not take him lightly, signaling his few henchmen to step back and unleashing a horizontal slash that sent a wave of sword energy.

An illusory giant sword pressed down from above, blasting the ground at Ye Chen’s feet into a ravine.

This guy’s martial arts were anything but ordinary, proving the Tianye Demons were indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Ye Chen blocked the approaching surge of energy, and with a palm, he launched a bolt of lightning towards Po Ren, who kicked a massive stone towards him.

Ye Chen shattered the boulder with a punch.

More of Po Ren’s men charged forward, but Ye Chen knew he needed to leave posthaste, as more and more enemies would soon arrive.

If they lingered, they could be surrounded by an ever-increasing number of foe.

Ye Chen deflected the lumpy sword and retreated several steps, releasing a rapid surge that sent those charging at him like wild beasts flying.

Even though his skills were more than adequate, with only about ten men at his side, Ye Chen couldn’t afford to get entangled. He was well aware that they had come to seek out Jiang Zhuge, not to waste time fighting these people.

He needed to find a way to shake them off. After a few exchanges, he had started to gauge the measure of this man’s ability.

Po Ren was astounded; the kid’s martial arts were truly exceptional. A mere brat, able to unleash such formidable power and wield such an amazing sword technique.
