Chapter 1436 - 1436 1422 Trickery
Chapter 1436: Chapter 1422: Trickery Chapter 1436: Chapter 1422: Trickery However, the Red Demonic Spirit knew the importance of the situation and had to proceed with the plan now, or else one wrong move could very possibly lead to a loss for the Immortal Demon World and the Thirty-Six Isles.
After the Black Demonic Spirit and Red Demonic Spirit transformed back into humans, although they couldn’t cause chaos like a python as before, they still possessed strong powers, and quite formidable ones at that.
The Red Demonic Spirit said to the Black Demonic Spirit, “I’ll distract those few guys around him, and you deal with Baili He.”
If they didn’t divert those few people, how could they possibly tackle Baili He? Without waiting for the Black Demonic Spirit’s nod, he shot out like a beam of light, and several energy attacks followed.
That still took Old Du by surprise. He said, “Don’t worry, just leave it to me.”
He immediately led his people to charge forward, aiming to deal with those winged ones. The Red Demonic Spirit released energy, slashing straight at Old Du’s crown chakra.
Old Du was a master himself, and wouldn’t be easily hit by the attack. With an energy wave, he neutralized it. The Red Demonic Spirit’s main task was to distract him, so he unleashed a chaotic barrage of energy, enraging the adversary. Then, pretending to panic and flee, he indeed aroused Old Du’s interest, who instantly gave chase.
Seizing the opportunity, the Black Demonic Spirit unleashed dark energy, striking directly at Baili He. Although Baili He did have some subordinates, those timid giants, tall and strong but useless, stood no chance against the Black Demonic Spirit.
Though the Black Demonic Spirit promised Ye Chen he would not learn those chaotic skills anymore, how could he solely obey Ye Chen? To protect himself, dark energy was just too fitting, and he felt it was fine as long as he didn’t get addicted to it.
When Old Du flew away, Baili He had only himself to rely on.
As he engaged the Black Demonic Spirit, he would stop disrupting the Evil Spirit.
Guo Yuyun and Yang Tao’er saw the Black Demonic Spirit shrouded in dark fog, fighting so fiercely that it was hard to discern the directions, and immediately sensed an opportunity.
Yun’er said, “I’ll cast the spell.” An energy bolt surged and struck at the Evil Spirit.
The Evil Spirit opened its mouth, spouting a fireball. If Yang Tao’er hadn’t arrived in time, she would have been roasted.
With her stature and power, how could she possibly confront the Evil Spirit and imagine controlling it with a spell? Such an easy feat was out of the question.
“What to do, this monster is still very sensitive and hard to tackle.”
“I’ve figured it out.” Yang Tao’er quickly summoned several creatures resembling grasshoppers. She knew these monsters would be dealt with quickly by the Evil Spirit, but they would buy some time and help them through this danger.
Sure enough, the Evil Spirit was lured by the few monsters, which were leftovers from Yang Tao’er’s previous encounter.
“I’ll set up a formation to tear through its protective layer, and you deploy the Silver Needles.”
Yun’er was dubious but said, “You know how to set up formations?”
“What do you think, that I’m like you, not learning anything at all?” Yang Tao’er threw out several boxes, which landed on the ground. While the Evil Spirit was focused entirely ahead, she released energy with a bang, and the protective layer began to flicker, signaling it was weakening.
“Alright, girl, hurry up and use the Silver Needles like I told you,” Yang Tao’er instructed.
Yun’er flew out instantly, and true enough, the protective layer seemed to fail, flickering in and out. She seized the moment, and several Silver Needles hit their targets.
Just as Baili He was about to teach the Black Demonic Spirit a lesson, he noticed several monsters engaging the Evil Spirit and then saw a Triangular Array with two blonde girls running circles around it. He immediately sensed something was amiss, realizing their target wasn’t him but the Evil Spirit.
Baili He shouted, “Old Du, come back quickly, they are going for the Evil Spirit!”
Old Du hastened back, bringing a few capable fellows along, and Baili He finally extricated himself from the entanglement with the Black Demonic Spirit.
Baili He unleashed a palm energy attack, directing it at Guo Yuyun and Yang Tao’er.
Yang Tao’er quickly dodged, repelling his deadly move.
The Evil Spirit wailed aloud.
“Damn girls, what have you done to the Evil Spirit?” He released an energy wave striving to control the Evil Spirit, making it spit out flames, but he found that it backfired terribly, failing to succeed. He nearly got turned into a ham, had he not dodged swiftly enough.
“You big villain, thinking you can use the Evil Spirit against us? No way,” Yun’er said.
Yang Tao’er asked, “Did you get all the Silver Needles in?”
Yun’er shook her head, still holding some leftover Silver Needles. It seemed that continuing the assault would not be so easy.
The Evil Spirit was clearly losing control.
Baili He quickly shifted his attention back, ordering his subordinates behind him to deal with the girls; he intended to regain control of the Evil Spirit.
Yun’er and the others certainly wouldn’t let him succeed. If he managed to control the Evil Spirit again, the realm of immortals and demons would be in trouble.
“Yun’er, you go control the Evil Spirit too, I’ll take care of these guys and come help,” someone said.
It had taken Baili He several months to achieve success, and now it was falling apart; how could he not be angry? He released several energy attacks but failed to regain control of the Evil Spirit.
He almost got turned into ham; how could he not be furious? Just then, another girl returned, and now, without understanding what the Evil Spirit was all about, her return made it even harder for him to concentrate.
Yun’er didn’t care so much. It was clear that the guy didn’t really understand what was going on. She knew she couldn’t control the Evil Spirit, but whether that guy could regain control or not was yet to be seen. No, she definitely couldn’t let him control the Evil Spirit.
“Alright, since I can’t control the Evil Spirit, I won’t let you control it either,” Yun’er declared, and without another word, she sent several sky-shattering palm strikes at the Evil Spirit. Predictably, the Evil Spirit, like a bull provoked into a frenzy, no longer cared who its master was and started spewing Fireballs everywhere.
Scared, Baili He quickly retreated, worried he’d be targeted at any moment.
Yun’er figured as long as the Evil Spirit went mad, not distinguishing friend from foe, even if it killed ten from the realm of immortals and demons, at least seven or eight from the Dragon Slaying Clan would fall too, evening out the losses.
Yang Tao’er flew over and saw the Evil Spirit firing everywhere, not understanding why.
Yun’er shared her thoughts with Yang Tao’er, expressing her worry that the old guy would regain control of the Evil Spirit.
Such a sly girl to come up with this plan.
Old Du arrived with his group, but so did the Black Demonic Spirit and the Red Demonic Spirit.
Seeing the Evil Spirit spraying fire all around, the Black Demonic Spirit felt a bit scared and said, “Damn it, what’s wrong with the Evil Spirit?”
Guo Yuyun suggested from the side, “Maybe it’s in heat; be careful.”
Indeed, that’s how a bull behaves when it is in heat.
Old Du was also surprised and asked, “What’s going on?”
Baili He replied, “Those two girls tampered with it.”
Old Du was fully aware that the Evil Spirit was key to them and said, “Damn girls, I’ll handle them; you hurry up and find a way to normalize it.”
Baili He nodded.
As Old Du went to deal with the two girls, the Black Demonic Spirit and the Red Demonic Spirit came over, blocking his way and the group behind him, and said to Yun’er, “Leave that Batman-looking guy to us.”
Old Du was so angry he was speechless.
Ye Chen and Su Zhanze had teamed up to fight Longhun, who had already unleashed its power. Even though Su Zhanze had recovered eighty to ninety percent of his strength, there was no clear advantage. If it weren’t for the restored power, he might have already been defeated.
But Su Zhanze had other plans in mind. He wanted to play the waiting game, but if he withdrew, the guy nearby could be defeated by Longhun within a few rounds, leaving Su Zhanze to face Longhun alone.
The power of the Wolf King’s Ring was indeed formidable; what to do? Then it hit him—if that guy had the Dragon Slayer Sword, and he was still the sword’s master, with the Wolf King’s Ring and the Dragon Slayer Sword, then he could have a life-or-death battle with Longhun.
Just at that moment, the damned Ren Haotian rushed in and shook Su Zhanze with a bolt of lightning, then suddenly said to Ye Chen beside him, “You deal with Longhun. I’ll take care of that guy first.”
He actually handed the Dragon Slayer Sword over to Ye Chen. Ye Chen was still surprised; Su Zhanze had fought so hard to get the Dragon Slayer Sword, and now he was willingly giving it to him. Ye Chen knew all too well that Xiong Shuobo was killed by a single sword strike from Su Zhanze in his attempt to take the Dragon Slayer Sword.
Su Zhanze was very clear that without giving Ye Chen the Dragon Slayer Sword, it was impossible. To get Ye Chen to fight Longhun to the death, while he played the bystander, he had to give up the sword. Without taking some risks, it couldn’t be done, hence the saying: no pain, no gain.
Ye Chen actually took the sword. Su Zhanze then charged at Ren Haotian. “You better come back quickly; I can’t handle him alone!” Ye Chen shouted.
But Su Zhanze had already vanished.
Now, it was just Longhun and Ye Chen. At that moment, Ye Chen was holding the Dragon Slayer Sword. Longhun summoned the power of the Moon Beast, which was incredibly formidable, but defeating Ye Chen wouldn’t be easy.
And Ye Chen was simply hoping Su Zhanze would return quickly. He had regained his strength, but not to deal with Ren Haotian.
Seeing Su Zhanze flee, Longhun sensed an opportunity and drew out energy, aiming to finish Ye Chen before that other guy returned.
Ye Chen, however, was undaunted. He was no stranger to the Dragon Slayer Sword and had used it before, so it was quite handy for him. With such a weapon and the ability to unleash the energy of the ring, he was eager to have a proper showdown with Longhun.
