Chapter 1435 - 1435 1421 Dealing with the Evil Spirit

Chapter 1435: Chapter 1421: Dealing with the Evil Spirit Chapter 1435: Chapter 1421: Dealing with the Evil Spirit The fog was so dense that the sound of the breeze could be heard in the stillness.

The people from the Demon Domain and the Thirty-Six Islands were on the east side, and the Dragon Slaying Clan’s people were on the west side; all had an air of impatience to end everything, as there was nothing left to say, and any words seemed to have been exhausted long ago.

Ye Chen was at the very front, with the others waiting behind him, ready to charge forward at his command.

The Winged Dragon was right in front of him, a row of huge monsters with bared fangs and claws followed behind, still drooling, which made it clear they hadn’t been fed this morning and were ready for a feast.

The Winged Dragons behind let out cackling sounds.

The people on both sides were almost equally matched.

Yet Longhun couldn’t help himself and said, “Some words are unnecessary. As I can see, you all want to end this quickly, and I too wish to settle this swiftly.”

“You big demon, today is the day you die,” called out Chen Yu, who seemed particularly fond of taking the lead.

“Is that so! But everything must be proven with strength. I know many of you want to kill me, like those from the Sacred Spirit Sect, and the Iron Ten Thousand Island, all seeking revenge.”

Ouyang Yue shouted angrily, “You devil, you killed my father, today I must have you pay with your blood!”

“Very well, that’s right, your father was indeed killed by me, I don’t deny it, if you have the ability then come at me, I’ll always be ready to face you,” Longhun vowed confidently, “I’m not like some people who, having done wrong, insist it was someone else’s doing, even once stripped bare, they still refuse to admit it.”

He was, of course, referring to Su Zhanze. Su Zhanze said, “I didn’t expect Longhun would come to engage in banter today.”

“Hehe, right, banter. I’m no match for you in that, you are truly the master among masters,” Longhun replied.

Su Zhanze called out, “Stop dawdling, let’s start the fight.” He glanced at Ye Chen.

Ye Chen nodded slightly; he knew Su Zhanze was eager to defeat Longhun. He and Su Zhanze were like allies, at least temporary ones. Only by joining forces was there a chance to defeat Longhun. Neither could do without the other; Su Zhanze’s wish to beat Longhun naturally required his help as well.

“It seems you really can’t wait,” Longhun said coldly.

Su Zhanze, not waiting for Ye Chen’s order, raised his sword and charged at his opponent Ren Haotian. In the last great battle, after his defeat and severe injury, he was pursued by Ren Haotian and Elder Xi Feng. If not for Ling Jian and others fighting desperately to protect him, he would have hardly escaped.

This morning he had recovered eighty to ninety percent of his strength, whether it was true or not, he wanted to find someone to test his sword on, and Ren Haotian was the perfect choice.

Several bolts of lightning struck towards Ren Haotian, who released an energy wave from the Immortal Pearl to confront them, but it was instantly devoured by the lightning that continued to shoot towards him. He quickly released a Light Wave to protect himself, only to be met with a bang as the Light Wave cracked.

As the lightning threatened to engulf the Light Wave and consume him whole, Longhun released a burst of energy that blocked the lightning, and Ren Haotian took the chance to escape, narrowly avoiding tragedy.

Longhun dissipated the lightning.

Ren Haotian was stunned, wondering how this could be possible, as his martial arts skills could not have recovered so quickly. Just yesterday, he had only been at fifty percent strength, so how had he suddenly recovered to eighty or ninety percent? Could he have been mistaken?

No, he knew Su Zhanze had been injured and not fully recovered, which is why he dared to meet his attack. Yet, just now, he realized Su Zhanze’s martial arts were, in fact, almost fully restored, or else his energy wouldn’t have been devoured and his protective circle broken.

Longhun was somewhat surprised too, sharing the same thoughts as Ren Haotian, but was still skeptical and grabbed an energy stream from the Sacred Spirit Stone, launching it directly at Su Zhanze. With a roar like a wild dragon, sand and stones flew in a whirlwind, like a horde of soldiers charging.

Su Zhanze leapt up and with a downward strike, a heavens-shattering noise erupted, lightning filled the air like seeds scattering, and with a crashing wave, it created an impact that scarred the ground.

Longhun was shocked; it was no dream—indeed, it was miraculous how this man’s martial arts had recovered. He couldn’t believe it was real; how had he achieved it? Highly skeptical, he bellowed, raising his energy level a notch. Of course, he still couldn’t believe it and wanted to test it again to see what was going on.

But when that energy came forth, Ye Chen wouldn’t stand by as a spectator any longer. He was well aware of Su Zhanze’s condition. Having finally regained eighty percent of his strength, Ye Chen couldn’t let Su Zhanze be defeated by the opponent. If he were to be beaten, Ye Chen would have to face Longhun alone.

The Wolf King’s Ring in his hand emitted a dazzling red light, followed by an irresistibly sharp move towards Longhun, intercepting the attack in front of Su Zhanze.

Su Zhanze didn’t waste a moment. As Ye Chen blocked the deadly move, he leapt up, hanging in midair, and struck downward. Dozens of bolts of lightning flew out from above Ye Chen’s head, not aiding Ye Chen but directly attacking Longhun.

Longhun quickly extracted energy and met the lightning onslaught head-on.

Ye Chen seized the opportunity to punch out, unleashing his magic power to devour the energy Longhun blasted over. At that moment, Longhun was focused on Su Zhanze, significantly reducing his pressure, yet Ye Chen didn’t falter and made sure to assist with an attack from the right side towards Longhun.

Longhun drew yet another stream of energy from the Sacred Spirit Stone, confronting both men’s deadly moves, setting the stage for a two-against-one situation.

Two earth-shattering explosions almost merged into one, resulting in a massive shockwave. The shockwave forced Ye Chen to stagger back several steps, and the midair Su Zhanze, who was wielding the Dragon Slayer Sword, was shook back to the ground.

Longhun too was repelled several meters; the ground between the three men was scarred by the formidable power of their energies.

The thick smoke soon dissipated.

Longhun was greatly surprised; no wonder they had agreed to a decisive battle with him so quickly. Their confidence lay here. However, even if Su Zhanze had regained his power, what of it? Longhun was prepared; even if they joined forces, it wasn’t certain they could beat him.

He let out a roar that made it sound as if some monster was howling in fury.

Ye Chen glanced at Su Zhanze. The girl, Yang, hadn’t lied to him; he had indeed recovered about eighty or ninety percent of his strength, which gave him some confidence.

However, Su Zhanze did not look at Ye Chen.

The roar from Longhun was like a command. The unfed mutant beasts of the Dragon Slaying Clan had been released, along with the flying Winged Dragons, all rushing over in a frenzy.

Ouyang Yue cried out urgently, “Release our beasts as well!”

A fireball traced an arc through the air, charging towards the crowd.

After the Winged Dragons and the mutant beasts struck, the people following behind charged forward.

The shouting resonated through the sky, as if yelling could somehow make them more certain of themselves.

Evil Spirits surged out of the woods, heading towards the people of the Immortal-Demon Domain and the Thirty-Six Islands. Yun’er wouldn’t let the Evil Spirits wreak havoc. She glanced at Yang Tao’er, who gave a slight nod in response.

The two of them flew out, with Qing’er shouting behind them, “Be careful.” Whether she heard or not, she didn’t turn back.

They prepared by releasing several trails of white smoke, which, of course, weren’t meant to suffocate the Evil Spirits—such a feat would be impossible. The smoke was just a necessary step for deploying the Silver Needle.

They used the white smoke to disorient the Evil Spirits and confuse Baili He and his people.

Baili He sneered, thinking that a few trails of white smoke could stop Evil Spirits. Such an easy solution was impossible.

A tongue of fire sprayed forth, rushing directly at them. Fortunately, at that moment, the white smoke was thick and confusion reigned, shouts of killing rising from every direction. This obscurity allowed Ying’er and Yang Tao’er just enough of an opportunity to dodge the flames, and the Silver Needles flew out.

They had already studied beforehand how to work together to counter the Evil Spirits. These plans had been run through their minds innumerable times, and they had settled on their division of labor. Each was responsible for one side, taking the opportunity to deploy Silver Needles, which sped towards the vital acupoints of the Evil Spirits.

However, the skin of the Evil Spirits was truly thick. It wasn’t as simple as sending the Silver Needle their way and piercing through.

Guo Yuyun quickly realized the problem and shifted from the left to the right, finding Yang Tao’er, who had also noticed the issue.

Yun’er said, “Our Silver Needles can’t penetrate.”

Yang Tao’er looked towards Baili He and said, “It’s Baili He’s doing. He’s put a layer of protection on the Evil Spirits. If we want our Silver Needles to get through, we must break this protective layer. Don’t even dream about it otherwise.”

“What should we do then? We can’t interfere like this, and many people will pay with their lives.”

The Black Demonic Spirit and the Red Demonic Spirit flew over.

“Hey, how come you two came over?” Yun’er asked.

The Black Demonic Spirit said, “The Monkey arranged it. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have come at all.”

Touching her chin, which lacked a beard, Yang Tao’er pondered for a moment and said, “Black Demonic Spirit, you and the Red Demonic Spirit go and deal with Baili He, interfere with his casting.”

The Red Demonic Spirit asked, “What’s going on? What happened?”

Yun’er replied, “Baili He is behind this. He’s put a protective layer on the Evil Spirits, so our Silver Needles can’t get through.”

“So you want us to go and interfere with them.”

Yang Tao’er nodded.

The Black Demonic Spirit said, “Baili He has quite a few people by his side, and they’re tough to handle.”

But Yang Tao’er exclaimed, “That’s your problem. Do you realize how many people will be devoured by the Evil Spirits if we fail?”

The Black Demonic Spirit, still stunned, said, “We came here to protect you. We didn’t agree to confront Baili He.”

Several tough guys surrounded Baili He, including that guy called Old Du, who was also with them.

Yun’er cried out, “Hurry up, the white smoke will clear soon, and when it does, the four of us together won’t stand a chance against the Evil Spirit.”

Taking the lead, the Red Demonic Spirit flew out. The Black Demonic Spirit, although reluctant, had no other choice but to follow.

The Black Demonic Spirit released two Crystal Beasts, heading straight for Baili He and his party.

That group was not to be trifled with; each one was skilled, and their martial arts abilities were formidable and not easy to deal with.
