Chapter 1437 - 1437 1423 The Final Battle with Longhun

Chapter 1437: Chapter 1423: The Final Battle with Longhun Chapter 1437: Chapter 1423: The Final Battle with Longhun The Dragon Spirit had not become a Moon Beast, but he roared like a monster, clearly displaying the monster’s energy. He was like a wizard, ceaselessly drawing energy from the Sacred Spirit Stone and hurling it towards Ye Chen without any reservation.

Thankfully, there was the Dragon Slayer Sword, or else Ye Chen would have had to surrender or turn tail and run upon their union. The lightning summoned by the Dragon Slayer Sword was also relentless and could barely hold back the rampaging energy from the Dragon Spirit, like a river bursting its dam.

The Dragon Spirit was indeed not content. Fine, let him see the power mixed with the black energy, obviously an upgraded version. The killing moves released by the mixed black energy were several times more powerful.

Ye Chen was forced to keep retreating, clearly prepared for such an eventuality. He quickly summoned the power of the Phoenix Monster, tossing the Dragon Slayer Sword which still remained under his control, turning it into a beam of light. Summonsing the most formidable power of the Wolf King’s Ring to control the Dragon Slayer Sword, he mounted a monumental defense against waves of Dragon Spirit’s assault and then, immediately, he launched his own attack.

He could not purely defend. Without the Dragon Slayer Sword, that would be all he could do, but now that he had it, he could definitely show what he could do and fight fiercely against the Dragon Spirit. Even if he couldn’t defeat the Dragon Spirit, at least he could drain him, hoping for a better chance when Su Zhanze returned to join forces. That was what he pondered.

Unexpectedly, the Dragon Slayer Sword and the Wolf King’s Ring could exert such immense power as to withstand the massive impact of the Sacred Spirit Stone and even go on the offensive. It was somewhat incredible, causing Dragon Spirit to feel astounded as he pondered that now was a good opportunity—Fin Haotian wasn’t much of a match for Su Zhanze and he would inevitably return. If he didn’t take the chance to deal with Ye Chen now, when would he?

Dragon Spirit certainly was not one to be underestimated. His eyes glowed red like someone pulled straight out of a furnace, and with a furious roar, he summoned even greater energy within him, obviously seeking a swift victory by taking his capabilities up another level.

Beneath the monster’s roar, the sky darkened, clouded over with thunder rumblings, but without rain. It was as if a demon had been summoned and stood directly in front, a monstrous being that gaped wide to devour men.

Ye Chen’s dispatched Dragon Slayer Sword, as if capable of replication, attacked Dragon Spirit from all directions, but found no weaknesses. An energy blast sent the sword rattling back, nearly escaping his control, with great difficulty he regained hold of the Dragon Slayer Sword.

A tidal wave of energy appeared before him. Ye Chen swiftly recalled the Dragon Slayer Sword, gripping it with both hands as an enormous energy wave was about to envelop him. With a loud shout, he leaped forward, and with a heaven-supporting sword strike, over a hundred energy blasts collided with the surging energy wave before him. The impact shook the earth, cracking open the ground.

The energy wave was not swallowed up, only slowed.

Dragon Spirit clearly had the upper hand.

A man hid in the shadows, watching surreptitiously. Just having driven away Ren Haotian, whom he regarded as no match for him, he was disdainful and watching secretly, worried that Ye Chen might be defeated by the Dragon Spirit. He wished to wait for the moment when both parties were locked in a life-and-death struggle, preserving his strength for the right opportunity.

As long as the youngster wasn’t defeated, he could continue to wear down the Dragon Spirit, and it was almost certain that both would continue to deplete their powers, and might even lose their lives. He hoped for a fierce conflict between the two, for without a fight between the snipe and the clam, how could the fisherman benefit?

True enough, Dragon Spirit aimed for a quick resolution, hoping to dispose of that youngster before he returned. Yet that youngster was holding up remarkably well against Dragon Spirit’s ferocious blows. To his surprise, he worried if he needed to intervene in time, but it clearly wasn’t necessary.

Come on then, continue this battle. Sooner or later, you won’t be able to keep up, and then…

Chen Yu came running over, seeing Su Zhanze hiding on the side like a peeping Tom in a corner, muttering, “That youngster won’t be defeated, will he?”

This brought Su Zhanze’s attention, who muttered back, “He shouldn’t be. I won’t let him be defeated.”

Chen Yu seemed to guess Su Zhanze’s intentions.

Su Zhanze asked, “Did you send a message by carrier pigeon to Ling Li?”

“Yes, I’ve sent a message to her. This time, she definitely won’t dare to play us.”

“Bullshit. If we can defeat Dragon Spirit, she will show up, but if we lose to Dragon Spirit, she surely won’t. That’s human nature, it never changes.”

“Does the Sect Leader have confidence in defeating the Dragon Slaying Clan?” Chen Yu asked.

“What, are you also planning to leave yourself a way out, thinking that the best plan is to run away?”

Chen Yu said anxiously, “No, I wouldn’t dare harbor such a thought. I just want to make sure everyone is prepared ahead of time, to avoid panic and not knowing what to do when the time comes.”

“Don’t worry. This time, Dragon Spirit won’t be able to escape.” His confidence stemmed from Ye Chen enduring Dragon Spirit’s blows, getting fiercer with each strike.

Chen Yu chuckled and said, “Does the Sect Leader also hope for a fight between the snipe and the clam so the fisherman can benefit?”

“Putting pressure on me, right? The embodiment of justice, seeking to exact revenge later, huh? Not a chance! Making a mess of things, laughing so loudly,” Su Zhanze talked to himself.

Chen Yu remained silent.

“Let them fight a bit longer, preserve their strength. When the time comes, together with Ling Li and the others, we will leave none of them intact. This time, we can’t let Dragon Spirit escape no matter what.”

Although Guo Yuyun was dealing with the Evil Spirit, he was constantly keeping an eye on the battle between Ye Chen and Longhun. Cursing under his breath, he muttered, “Damn that Su Zhanze, where did he run off to! I helped him restore his strength so he could confront Longhun, not so he could hide.” He actually threw down the Dragon Slayer Sword and took off. Yun’er worried that Ye Chen might end up defeated.

Baili He kept transferring energy to the Evil Spirit, obviously trying to regain control of it.

Yun’er and Yang Tao’er also kept pouring energy into the Evil Spirit, clearly not wanting it to fall under control. All the messed-up energy was injected into the Evil Spirit’s body like this.

The Evil Spirit, which was already not fully under control, went completely wild due to the immense amount of energy being poured into it, coupled with the effects of the Silver Needles. The back-and-forth struggle finally caused it to lose control entirely, blasting Fireballs everywhere, indiscriminately targeting not only them but Baili He as well.

Fireballs flew chaotically in all directions, and the Evil Spirit turned redder and redder, frenzied as if possessed, shouting and screaming crazily.

It’s understandable for anyone to feel overwhelmed, the Evil Spirit’s temper was notoriously bad to begin with. With all this jumbled energy overwhelming it, even a normally calm individual would lose it, not to mention its already explosive temper.

A Fireball whizzed over the heads of Yun’er and Yang Tao’er, who barely managed to dodge in time, or it would have certainly hit them.

Watching the Evil Spirit hop and leap about like a mad bull, Yun’er said, “The Evil Spirit is losing control, and it’s obvious that it’s not listening to Baili He.”

“It’s not like it’s about to lose control, it’s already out of control,” Yang Tao’er declared.

“What should we do?”

“What else can we do, we need to get out of here fast.”

“No, we have to give it two more shots of energy,” Yun’er insisted, still concerned that the old fellow might regain control of the Evil Spirit. Feeding it two more rounds of messed-up energy would make it even safer.

“Alright, two more shots then. I still have some hallucinogenic drugs here,” Yang Tao’er contributed.

“Perfect, let’s make the Evil Spirit go wild with lust and then send it straight after that old guy.”

Baili He racked his brains for ways to regain control over the Evil Spirit, but since it had been injected with the Silver Needles, it had started to behave abnormally. He was trying to expel the Silver Needles, but those two girls had already pumped in some chaotic energy, and damn it, Old Du still hadn’t taken down the other two.

At that moment, no one knew exactly what kind of powder those two girls had scattered, but it made the Evil Spirit sparkle with all sorts of colors, growing redder and redder, then, like a demon possessed, it started firing Fireballs in every direction.

The ensuing explosions left the surrounding area in a wreckage. If Baili He hadn’t run fast, he would have perished in the chaos too.

Old Du had just shaken off the two people chasing him and returned, asking, “What the hell happened?”

“What do you think? It’s out of control,” Baili He replied.

“Out of control? Isn’t there anything else we can do?” Old Du impatiently queried.

“Well, I sure don’t have any other ideas, but I wonder if you’ve got any,” declared Baili He, no longer willing to take risks if it meant his life was on the line.

“Damn it.” If Baili He didn’t have any ideas, how could he possibly come up with another plan?

“I can’t control it anymore.”

Old Du, not willing to give up, released a burst of energy, trying to intervene, but a tongue of flame shot towards him and he quickly fled for his life.

Baili He muttered resentfully, “Curse those girls, they really know how to wreak havoc.”

The Evil Spirit, now out of control, unleashed its fury, targeting members of the Dragon Slaying Clan and the Demon Domain alike, its rampage relentless. The only option left was to keep away from the Evil Spirit as it went on a murderous spree.

After battling with Longhun for quite some time, Ye Chen had more or less figured out his level. It was time to settle the score. He summoned all of his energy, releasing it in a mighty surge like a flash flood, bearing down directly on Ye Chen.

Ye Chen had no clue where the damn Su Zhanze had gone off to. Even if Su Zhanze had an upset stomach, he should have been back by now. Annoyed, he shouted, “Black Demonic Spirit, you two go see where the hell Su Zhanze has gone off to.”

The Black Demonic Spirit and the Red Demonic Spirit darted out.
