Chapter 852 - 857: Sorry

Chapter 852: Chapter 857: Sorry

Yang Yi certainly didn’t want to die, but at this moment, he felt it was better to die than to let Ian fail to reach Li Fan safely under Anton’s care.

Why? Yang Yi wasn’t quite sure himself. He just felt that Ian was too important, so important that his life seemed less significant in comparison.

Yang Yi didn’t think anymore. If he had hesitated for even a moment longer, he might have made a different choice. But in the instant he decided, Yang Yi chose to be a hero. Although he was neither great nor glorious in his usual life, at least in the moment of that decision, he was truly magnificent.

Yang Yi and Eric got out of the car, and Anton left with Ian.

Though still in pain, Yang Yi could at least walk now. A severe blow to the groin was excruciating, but the pain wouldn’t last too long, something any man who had experienced it would understand.

Once Anton had gone, Yang Yi trusted he would certainly get Ian to France.

Eric let out a light sigh, then said to Yang Yi with a sense of helplessness, "I think my business is ruined. I hope you can deliver on your promise soon and give me those ten million US dollars, because it might just be my retirement fund now."

Yang Yi stretched out his hand, turned around, and reached into his pants. Satisfied that he wouldn’t become a eunuch, Yang Yi turned back and said, "Tell me then, what’s the deal with Wilson? What exactly is your relationship with him?"

Eric took a deep breath and said, "Kauswell Laboratory has a total of seven labs under it, and Wilson is the deputy director, also the head of the microelectronics department. I acquired a lot of equipment from him. Those six cameras, well, were developed by Ian, but Wilson held onto them. He told Ian they were being tested and vetted, but in reality, Wilson suppressed the design drawings and all data, then directly handed the finished product over to me."

Yang Yi frowned and said, "Wait, I don’t quite understand. Why would he do that?"

Eric shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Because... your friend was right. Wilson was worried about being replaced by Ian. Most importantly, Ian had angered him."

Yang Yi shook his head and said, "All right, we’ll talk about this later. My question now is who the people who went to Ian’s house are, what they want with him, and what they are planning to do?"

"I don’t know, of course, I don’t."

Yang Yi glanced at his watch, then said in a grave tone, "Okay then, let’s go and ask Wilson for answers. He might be able to tell us."

Eric didn’t hesitate because he was already involved in this matter. One way or another, he needed to know what exactly had happened, how severe the situation was because this would determine whether he should immediately flee.

"I know where his house is, but are you sure you’re okay to move?"

Yang Yi tried walking a few steps. Although there was still a dull pain, he believed that if it really came down to a fight, he wouldn’t feel the pain by then.

"I’m fine. We better move quickly. It might already be too late, but there’s also a chance we can prevent the news from spreading further. Buddy, whether your career is over or not depends on if we can get there before everyone else."

Yang Yi had to urgently find Wilson, even if it meant splitting up with Anton, because time was precious, incredibly precious.

It might already be too late, but there might still be a chance to fix things, and that’s what Yang Yi was fighting for—that slight possibility.

Eric and Wilson were well-acquainted; according to Eric, Wilson was both his supplier and his friend, yet their so-called friendship was built on mutual interests.

Leading the way, Eric took Yang Yi to Wilson’s front door. They didn’t need to sneak around; Eric simply rang the doorbell.

A middle-aged woman opened the door, and Wilson was in his living room.

Following Eric, Yang Yi entered the house.

Sitting on the sofa was a middle-aged man in his fifties; he stood up, cheerfully raising his voice. "Why have you come at this time, without even calling in advance?"

Eric pointed to Yang Yi beside him and said, "A friend, he wants to get some stuff you can’t find on the market, needs it very urgently. Don’t worry, he’s definitely trustworthy, or I wouldn’t have brought him here."

Wilson hesitated for a moment, but then he immediately reached out his hand. "Please sit down, would you like something to drink? Darling, go watch TV in the bedroom."

The middle-aged woman was sent away, and Wilson gestured for Yang Yi and Eric to sit down. Then he became serious and said, "Alright, now we can say anything we want."

Yang Yi looked at Eric and asked, "Should you ask or should I ask, and how should we ask?"

Eric had an odd expression on his face; he watched Yang Yi for a moment, then whispered, "Ask however you want to ask..."

Wilson smiled. "Yes, don’t be shy, what do you want to know?"

Yang Yi pursed his lips, then spoke in a deep voice, "Mr. Wilson, we’ve just come from Ian’s place. Two people went looking for Ian, and I want to know who they are and why they were looking for him."

Wilson was stunned, then he furrowed his brow, "What are you talking about?"

Yang Yi sighed, then gently said to Wilson, "Sorry, very sorry, I apologize."

Wilson looked puzzled. "Why are you apologizing? What exactly... do you want to do?"

Yang Yi shrugged his shoulders, then suddenly pounced, covering Wilson’s mouth with one hand and grabbing his arm with the other.

Yang Yi pinned Wilson to the couch, straddling him, making their posture look somewhat ambiguous.

The position was rather ambiguous, but the words Yang Yi spoke were cold.

"Mr. Wilson, you answer what I ask, understood?"

After whispering a few words into Wilson’s ear, Yang Yi suddenly exerted force and broke Wilson’s little finger.

Wilson began to tremble violently, he kicked out, trying desperately to make a noise, but Yang Yi covered his mouth and firmly grasped his jaw so that Wilson’s moaning was completely drowned out by the sound of the television.

Yang Yi didn’t speak; he broke Wilson’s second finger, then the third, and the fourth.

After breaking four of Wilson’s fingers in succession, Yang Yi spoke again in a low voice, "I’m going to let go of your mouth now, but if you dare to scream, believe me, I will kill you, and make your death a painful one. You understand my methods now, don’t you? If you do, blink your eyes."

Wilson blinked desperately.

Yet Yang Yi remained impassive; he continued in a low voice, "I know it hurts, but remember, don’t shout, stay quiet, or it’s going to get very bad for you. I’m going to let go now, brace yourself."

Yang Yi slowly released his hand.

After a series of hurried deep breaths, Wilson spoke softly, almost crying, "What exactly do you want to do?"

Yang Yi said coldly, "Tell me, who were the people looking for Ian."
