Chapter 853: Chapter 858 Pressure

Yang Yi actually felt a strong resistance to the dirty work of interrogation; breaking someone’s fingers one by one impacted him psychologically just as intensely.

Yang Yi, who felt nothing when killing, now felt somewhat nauseous because killing was instantaneous, and when fighting for life or death, the only thought was to eliminate the enemy. But slowly, methodically breaking a stranger’s fingers, this slow and prolonged process was as painful for the interrogated as it was for Yang Yi.

So, Yang Yi hoped that Wilson would quickly give the answers he wanted, to end the suffering for both of them.

Wilson, docile from extreme pain, said whatever came to mind; he didn’t want to hide anything, nor dare to.

"Those who went to find Ian, I don’t know who they are! No, no no, don’t move, I’ll explain it to you in detail!"

Seeing Yang Yi’s unflinching demeanor, Wilson became anxious. He hastened to say, "Don’t be hasty to act, let me tell you what happened!"

After taking a few deep breaths, Wilson spoke softly, "Ian... he has created something incredible. I knew he had been working on some kind of research, then he used the resources of the lab to produce something remarkable."

Yang Yi didn’t have the time to listen to Wilson’s stories, nor the patience to drag things out here, he just wanted to quickly get the information he desired and leave.

"My question is, who are the people that went looking for Ian!"

Yang Yi’s expression was indifferent, but at that moment, he looked like a devil in Wilson’s eyes.

After shivering uncontrollably, Wilson stammered, "I don’t know, don’t hurt me, I really don’t know what you’re talking about! Have people been looking for Ian? If so, they must be, they should be my clients, other clients."

Yang Yi asked quietly, "Not British agents?"

"No, if they were from the British government, then they wouldn’t need to come to me to buy things secretly."

"Continue."

"I’ve been doing business with them for a long time, just today, I moved Ian to another place to give him a separate lab. Why did I do this? Because I could no longer keep it a secret, I had to find a way to deal with Ian’s potential threat to me."

Yang Yi pondered for a moment, then asked, "How did he become a threat to you?"

Wilson hesitated, unsure if he was organizing his thoughts or thinking of a plausible excuse to deceive Yang Yi.

What Yang Yi needed to do was to keep applying pressure to Wilson, the kind of pressure that could make him break.

Without warning, Yang Yi suddenly covered Wilson’s mouth again, then clutched Wilson’s thumb and, with a snap, Wilson’s thumb was broken.

Wilson was trembling with pain. Yang Yi slowly released his grip and whispered low, "Speak!"

Unable to lie, Wilson, with tears, sobbed, "Because I was pissed at Ian. He always disobeyed my management. He always thought he was a genius, wanting to create something extraordinary. And he did create something. He made six cameras, then proudly asked me to take the cameras for testing. If the test passed, he’d get a promotion. But I didn’t want him to get too cocky, so I kept his design and told him it had gone to testing."

Yang Yi remained silent, just staring coldly at Wilson. Wilson, gasping for breath, feared Yang Yi would snap his fingers without a word, so he hurriedly blurted out, "Later, I sold the cameras to Rick. When Ian asked me about it, I said the test results were poor, that his design was meaningless."

So many names for Eric, but it didn’t matter what others called him. After all, a name was just a code.

Yang Yi pondered for a moment, then looked at Eric and said in a heavy voice, "Then how did you know the cameras were designed by Ian? That sort of thing, he shouldn’t be blabbering everywhere, right?"

Eric spread his hands and said with a calm face, "He told me, he shared his concerns about Ian with me."

Without much hesitation, Eric sighed and, in a soft voice, said to Yang Yi, "Alright, now I have to clear things up. I used to work for MI6, in the Equipment Department. Every purchase had to have my approval. Later, I resigned, a forced resignation, and then started leveraging my connections to trade equipment. Mr. Wilson and I have... a longstanding... business relationship, each holding a great deal of deadly secrets about the other. So if he needed help with something, he’d tell me."

Yang Yi immediately asked, "Does Mr. Wilson know you introduced Ian to me?"

Eric shook his head and replied, "He doesn’t know. I never mentioned it."

Yang Yi turned to Wilson and asked, "Then who was looking for Ian? They said you referred them to Ian."

Wilson’s face drooped as he said, "I didn’t refer anyone. I... I don’t even know what to say. I really didn’t ask anyone to go after Ian!"

After some thought, Yang Yi’s expression chilled, and he said softly, "You’re lying!"

Yang Yi pulled out a knife and said coldly, "I won’t break your fingers again. If you continue to lie, next time I’ll slit your throat. Now, your last chance, speak."

Wilson’s sweat poured down; terror mixed with pain as he saw the knife in Yang Yi’s hand. Finally, he lowered his head and said, "Alright, those people were hired by me. I wanted them to kill Ian because... I couldn’t cover up the camera incident anymore. I was out of my mind, a moment of jealousy made it impossible to turn back. Ian would surely blow the whistle, so I had to find a way to eliminate the problem forever."

Yang Yi asked calmly, "You arranged someone to kill Ian?"

"Yes, uh, no. I needed to get rid of the problem. I had to find someone capable, and I happened to know a very capable guy. We’d had dealings. I asked him to take Ian out for me. He asked me why. I wasn’t planning on telling him, but they wouldn’t help without a reason, so I spilled the truth..."

Wilson, distraught, continued, "Ian’s design wasn’t that big of a deal, but the battery technology was crucial. I didn’t even know where his batteries came from. I wanted to know Ian’s battery technology, so I found some customers to extract it from him. And my customers were very interested in Ian’s tech. I figured they wouldn’t share the tech with me, but as long as Ian was out of the picture, I didn’t care much about getting the tech anymore."

It was starting to make sense. Yang Yi said softly, "And then?"

Shaking his head, Wilson replied, "Then I don’t know. I have no idea what they did with Ian. I really don’t know."
