Chapter 735: Chapter 741 This is the Final Battle
The Black Devil operation had come to an end, and they had acquired everything they wanted.
The Organization of Water had watched the Black Devil operation from beginning to end, a complete mission; if asked whether they gained anything, the answer was affirmative.
The biggest achievement was realizing that when battling Black Devil, one must never show themselves, never give Black Devil the opportunity to shoot; to engage in direct combat is to court death.
Is this answer laughable? Of course not, the United States’ most elite special forces met their downfall precisely because they underestimated just how formidable Black Devil was.
Having an enemy who could dominate the battlefield with superior marksmanship, securing this intelligence, really saved countless lives within the Organization of Water; so, would you say this answer is significant or not?
The enemy began to retreat. From the onset of the assault to its conclusion, including the interrogation time, it amounted to no more than ten minutes—a superbly efficient, intensely forceful performance.
Watching Black Devil’s three SUVs start to move, Brian said solemnly, "If they make it back to where they started, then we can move."
For the first time, Yang Yi found himself less eager about the impending operation.
The cars weren’t returning very quickly, and Black Devil’s three vehicles still had to detour to check for any tails, so their departure wouldn’t be brief.
The drone kept tracking the three cars at low altitude, having swapped out drones twice midway; otherwise, their battery life wouldn’t have lasted to the end of the surveillance.
Despite the circuitous route, the three SUVs ultimately headed toward the location they had departed from.
When the cars finally returned to their departure point, Brian let out a long sigh and then, relieved, said, "If they were to continue their operation, they wouldn’t need to go back, and if they wanted to change their hiding place, there would be no need to go back either; hence, we can move now!"
Yang Yi stood up as well, took a deep breath, and addressed everyone, "Ladies and gentlemen, let’s set off now!"
At that moment, Brian took two steps forward and solemnly faced everyone, saying, "I want to say... thank you all, and I’m asking for your help!"
Brian bowed deeply to everyone and remained bowed for an extended period.
Paul was willing to pay any price for Brian’s cause, and Charles was willing to do the same.
But the Organization of Water had no obligation to engage with an enemy as powerful as Black Devil; other than Paul and Charles, no one else was expected to risk their lives for Brian’s personal vendettas.
Charles had already died, and it wasn’t because of Brian.
By now, the relationship between Brian and the Organization of Water had become incredibly intricate—separating personal matters from official business within the context of Brian and the Organization of Water was impossible.
Yet Brian still wanted to thank everyone, for whether it was Yang Yi’s intention or the collective will, not a single person had objected to confronting such a formidable foe as Black Devil; none had, from the beginning to the end.
There was no need for any other words or explanations beyond that.
Yang Yi placed his hand on Brian’s arm and said in a deep voice, "We will succeed, we must succeed!"
After speaking, Yang Yi continued solemnly, "I’m going to find Jethro; let’s get moving, everyone!"
They had prepared for this day for a long time; nothing else needed to be said—action was what mattered now.
Yang Yi quickly headed toward Jethro’s room, knocked on the door, then pushed it open and said solemnly to a just-awakened Jethro, "We can take action now!"
Jethro was momentarily stunned, then he took a deep breath and asked, "Are you certain?"
"Certain."
Jethro had been sleeping but had not even taken off his clothes. Springing up from the bed, he declared with a serious tone, "Then let’s take action!"
Jethro grabbed the walkie-talkie placed beside the bed, took a breath, and then pressed the transmit button, saying sternly, "Francois, McGregor, gather all the brothers—we’re making a move, right now."
After speaking, Jethro thought he might have sounded too casual, so he immediately pressed the transmit button again and added with gravity, "This is the battle of destiny!"
Releasing the walkie-talkie, Jethro picked up a pistol from beside his pillow and said with solemnity, "The hour of decisive battle has come—let’s go."
Suddenly, Yang Yi was filled with remorse.
This was no battle of destiny; it was a trap pushing Jethro into a corner.
But for the Organization of Water, it indeed was the battle of destiny.
Yang Yi said in a firm voice, "We’re moving out!"
Jethro strode out the door, and by the time he reached the courtyard, everyone from the Organization of Water was already in their vehicles.
As Jethro walked outside, Francois and McGregor were already waiting for him.
Francois asked anxiously, "What’s the situation?"
Jethro confidently responded, "We’ve found the enemy’s lair."
Francois immediately perked up and asked, "Is the information reliable?"
"Of course, it’s reliable!"
Jethro waved his hand and stated firmly, "Let’s proceed according to our plan; let’s set off now!"
Francois glanced backward and then suggested quietly, "We’re too noticeable together with so many people; it might be better to act separately and reconvene at the battle site, of course, this is just my suggestion."
Without hesitation, Jethro responded, "No need to split up; just get there as fast as we can, maintain radio silence, and nobody is allowed to contact the outside world. Buddy, I trust you’ll be okay, but if someone contacts the outside..."
Francois interjected, "I know what to do; if someone contacts the outside without permission, I will personally take them down!"
Two pickup trucks arrived, filled with directional mines and another with bounding mines; they didn’t bring any buried landmines since those were too slow to deploy.
Jethro nodded at Yang Yi and declared, "Robot leads the way; let’s move out!"
Yang Yi quickly ran to his vehicle and then led the convoy as the first to drive out.
Once the car started moving, Yang Yi said to Brian sitting beside him, "The bombs made by McDonald haven’t been delivered yet."
Brian replied quietly, "I’ve already notified McDonald; he will drive to join us. How are things at Fearless?"
"Fearless is ready; they won’t have any issues with a standard operation, but if we try to take them down on the sly, there might be some problems."
After a moment’s contemplation, Brian advised softly, "Disperse our people among them under the pretext of guiding the way."
The Organization of Water had rehearsed for this plan countless times.
To the Organization of Water, it was a plan; but to Jethro, to the Fearless Mercenary Corps, it was indisputably a conspiracy.
A conspiracy where both friend and foe alike were being manipulated.
